The Colorado Avalanche lost to the Philadelphia Flyers on a recent east coast road trip. Even though the Avs were down several key players, many felt like they still should have beaten a struggling Flyers team.

The difference between then and now is noticeable. The Avs are playing with more confidence now compared to then. None other than J.T.Compher, who gained two more points last night. One on a beautiful backhanded pass to Devon Toews for a goal, and then netting one of his own.

Goalie Pavel Francouz was given his second straight start after a solid output against St. Louis and he again performed admirably.

The bottom line is this roster of Avs have come a long way in a short amount of time, and it's showing.
