If you use a computer you need to understand how it works. People who use cars might not need to understand how they work to operate them, but computers are different. Computers alone don't do anything, they are just blocks of metal, they are controlled by the programs running on them, the software. Who controls the software controls the computer. With a car the only person in control of the vehicle is the one driving it, assuming no interference from any passengers, but with a computer, the mere use of it does not constitute control of it. The users need to be able to control the software on the computer, if they don't, someone else controls the software, and thus the user's use of the computer, and with that, that area of their life. If someone else controls your computer, you are surrendering control over your life and all of the things you do on the computer, to someone else, from social life to business, entertainment, hobbies, using the internet as a resource for any purpose including learning and otherwise, looking at a map for directions on a computer, to finding cooking recipes, everything you do on the computer that is a part of your life is under someone else's control if you don't control the software on the computer. This is essential, if you don't understand how to use a computer properly you need to stop using it right now, if you are unwilling to learn how to use it. Of course learning how to use the computer is preferable if you wish to continue using them. It's better people don't use computers at all than to use them wrong and risk losing control over all areas of their lives that computers touch. Freedom in a person's life is inherently about having the control over things that surround people, things in your life that you don't control, that are yours to use for your purposes are an instrument of evil and will lead to really bad things happening, but freedom is expensive, it requires responsibility. Since for you to have freedom in your life it requires that you take responsibility for the things in your life including computers, you, are responsible for your computing device. You are responsible for whatever operating system it runs and what software is installed on it, for you to think otherwise is absurd and retarded. If it's your computer you use in your life to get work done, it's your responsibility, act like it. To give some big tech company or any other such entity control over your computers, is abdication of responsibility and very dangerous. Little children can't take responsibility over their own lives, if you can't take responsibility to control your computers, we have a society of little children. Unless you reading this are literally a child, stop acting like irresponsible spoiled little children and take responsibility over your computers, otherwise they will be used as tools for tyranny against you, whether in the form of mass surveillance, "you'll own nothing and be happy", or any other miscellaneous dystopian future style scenario we have ahead of us.
