In this episode, we have invited Rudy Ruettiger. Daniel ‘Rudy’ Ruettiger is the real-life inspiration for the iconic movie, RUDY. He carved his way into history books as perhaps the most inspiring graduate of Notre Dame University. Rudy rose from valleys of discouragement and despair to the pinnacles of success and achieved his first dream – to attend Notre Dame and play football for the Fighting Irish.
Today, Rudy is an award-winning motivational keynote speaker, author, and producer with over 25 years of experience speaking to corporations, universities, sports teams, and special events. In my talk with Rudy, he shares inspiring stories of hope, perseverance, beating the odds, and choosing courage over adversity—making a difference in his life and the lives of others.
[02:34] How important is adaptability to change in sports?
I was considered a dummy, and I graduated from high school third in my class in the bottom, but I had this burning desire, this inspiration, this feeling when I would watch Notre Dame football that’s where I should be because I saw my father’s eyes light up and get a new feeling about himself for Notre Dame. I said, “There’s something there.” I would love to give that feeling to my dad. Notre Dame lights him up every Sunday when he watches Notre Dame Highlights. Inside-out transformation changes people. When you put these internal feelings together, that’s when you had to change.
[08:25] What advice do you give to people who are afraid to try new things?
Who are you hanging around with? What movies are you watching? What books are you reading? You’re living in an illusion of fear. There’s nothing to fear but fear itself. And you have to eliminate that by moving forward and be willing to fail. Are you willing to fail? We learn from failures. But if you quit because you’re afraid to fail, then that’s it.
[18:11] The Importance of Preparation in Games and Movies
Notre Dame was an incredible journey. I learned a lot by moving forward by finding the answers. Playing football was just a contribution part of my life to contribute to something great. You needed mentors around you to push forward and help you get there. But preparation was a key as well. If I didn’t train every day, I would never made that tackle. Be prepared every day like your dreams will come, just like the movie. I use the same model to get the movie made. As I played and got at Notre Dame, I prepared for that movie every day.
[19:46] What promise did God make to the world when He created you?
Believe in me, and you will be set free.
Key Quotes
[15:57 – 16:01] “Hard work pays off. Good luck comes into your life through hard work.”
[08:49 – 08:57] “There’s nothing to fear but fear itself. And you have to eliminate that by moving forward and be willing to fail.”

In this episode of Aww Shift Podcast, our guest is Ray Higdon. He is the Founder & CEO of Higdon Group, one of the Inc. 5000’s fasters growing companies, speaker, and book author. Being in the Inc. 5000 doesn’t mean his fancy in business. He had experienced a lot in his life from relationships, business, and even finances, but it did not stop Ray from his dream to stand at the zenith. Today, Ray shares his thoughts and advice on understanding your identity and how he helps entrepreneurs find theirs as well.
[05:52] Why should we listen to you?
If you want to improve your finances and relationships, then you should listen.
[07:16] How did you become who you are now?
I worked my way up in the corporate world with a decent salary. I realized that the harder I work, the more they would pay, but their demands go up as well. Because of that, I have no time for my family, and I’m stuck. I wanted freedom, and it’s impossible in that career.
[08:21] In 2004, my friend and I started studying real estate. I left my job to do real estate full time. It was great until it wasn’t when the economy crashed. My life was in shambles. I had a foreclosure, debt, divorce, and no idea what to do next until I went to a network marketing company.
[09:14] With nothing else to do, I went to figure it out. Now, I am the number one income earner of that company where we work with the top companies and leaders.
[15:23] How do you help people grow and discover their identities?
My different experiences in life helped me understand that I can be whatever it is that I choose to be. With all my experiences in life, I realized that I did not invest enough in myself. The key thing about identity is to change and challenge it constantly. If I am afraid of something and trained myself to be fearful of something, then I have to face it. Otherwise, it will grow on me.
[22:05] How does identity hold people back?
Many people ask me about “consistency.” People who struggle with it seek more information – journals, blueprints, checklists, scripts, etc. – but it’s not what they need. What they need revolves around emotion, and when I transform someone, I need to figure out their pattern because that will reveal what their identity is.
[26:09] Inconsistency means an incorrect conclusion with success. People understand that if you are consistent at anything, you will be successful. Otherwise, you have drawn the wrong conclusion to success.
[32:33] What promise did God make to the world when he created you?
That I will make an impact on people, that’s what drives me. I love making an impact on others, and I am relentless to do it as long as blood flows through my veins.
Quotes:
[10:39 – 10:43] “I avoid mirrors and don’t even want to look at them because I am disappointed with myself.”
[12:10 – 12:21] “I believe that when you clear up your past grievances, resentment, anger, shame, etc., it opens up a new world for you.”
[18:32-18:38] “If you want to accomplish something, you manifest it and see the version you want as if it already happened.”

In today's episode, we have Rosice Batsuli again as our guest to continue sharing more of his story. You can look up episode number 257 to listen to his previous episode.
[3:27] The concept of the business and the aspect of the blended family
As for moving on later in the story, in the previous show, I explained how we lost a baby and how difficult it can be, and how we used that moment to use it as a mission to spread joy and the business we call ceasefire productions. Some of my darkest moments, specifically wanting to commit suicide and then losing a child years later, could have sent my wife and me down a very dark spiral. Instead, it motivated me to proclaim, "You know what, I'm going to use our DJ company to spread joy on a massive scale, and it's going to be bigger than me." It's not just me, but DJing is spreading happiness. I want to bring in people and let them know that this is our mission.
[5:50] And the whole dark moments in the story is kind of like a tree with multiple branches. On the left side, it propelled me to the DJ company. The company never gave us a mission, a purpose to what we're doing that's bigger than just setting up speakers. Then on the right side, it also gave us sense in helping blended families.
[9:02] How do you push past those moments?
Not every chapter of my life was so pleasant. I've had regretful moments and not-so-cool moments. I know that in these specific moments, the path was clear.
[10:07] You must recall why you did it in the first place. And, because you're not looking at the negatives, I believe that solidifies and creates a more concrete foundation. You must always return to the fundamental decision you made at the beginning.
[11:55] Do you think that doing that makes you more money? Is it just a business kind of concept?
When you come at it this way, it may not feel like that at first. But what you create is a blue ocean. You're no longer looked at as "just a DJ"; you're no longer looked at as just setting up the sound. It differentiates you from the other competition.
[13:34] There are DJs everywhere and every price tear and everything. When you care about people, you will differentiate yourself beyond the equipment, beyond the "Okay." We all have speakers, we all have flashy equipment, but what makes us different? I think when people know that you're genuine and when people want a more purpose-driven. We've done more business because of this.
[15:17] I can expressly state that it has helped our company increase revenue and differentiate itself significantly. And from the competition, as far as just being in that lump of DJ sound lighting, we'll know whether DJ company cares about your memory in your life story. In essence, we've shifted our mindset from being a commodity to marketing joy.
[21:27] Once I figured out the story in my story, I thought, how do we take this and encourage someone? What is its purpose in my DJ company? I think it allows us to have an online platform called "blended on the rock," which is everyday tips and resources on being in a blended family, specifically stepmoms. It explains how to navigate something and how to build a relationship, or when you're dealing with friction from the other side or in-laws and stuff like that.
Key Quotes
[10:07-10:15] “You have to remember why you did it in the first place. And I think that even solidifies and creates a more of a concrete foundation.”
[22:41-22:43] “The more we tell a story, the more we create a blue ocean for ourselves.”
[23:11-23:20] “Everybody else is another ocean. But the thing that creates the blue ocean is the things that you may not think matter, but it does.”

In this episode of the Aww Shift Podcast, we have invited Michael Metcalf and Shaun Peet, Co-Founders of Deck Leadership. Michael and Shaun pursue their endeavors by helping leaders shift their mindset through the D.E.C.K Leadership stratagems – Diversity, Efficiency, Culture, and Kindness. Today, they will share how leaders should operate, their clients, and leadership as the lagging aspect to success.
[07:26] Why should we listen to you?
We are still in this high-octane environment where both of us operate on the edge of human brilliance—failures, taking lessons, and parallels. It is easy to translate being a father, husband, leader, etc. but if you are not growing, you are dying and all we want is to see people grow.
[12:52] Who do you work with?
We worked with Marshall McFadden, Linebackers from Pittsburgh Steelers, Washington Football Teams, Softball stars, Navy Seals, Swimmers, etc. for all genders. The landscape and our scope had changed tremendously since we had started this endeavor.
[13:55] Leadership as a Lagging Aspect
Speed is the currency of business and we are an expert in speed. We don’t have great talent recruiting search, poor resources, and not even have the best facilities but we empower and weaponize our culture. We figured out our formula which is D.E.C.K or Diversity, Efficiency, Culture, and Kindness. When you put these four aspects into practice in your company, team, and life, you start seeing successful interactions sprout. Attract higher talent, you can be more competitive.
[17:11] Key principles to apply in your life
Fail quickly. You will not get it all correct all the time but if you fail quickly and not let it carry and affect you on your next try, you give yourself a chance to succeed. Many people think failure is the end but we think otherwise—don’t put a period when life intended a comma.
[18:15] You cannot mandate greatness where you tell someone to be the best at something immediately, but you can inspire them to be one. Even if there are rough times, do it in a way that pushes them to their limit. Taking care of yourself, being connected to things you are passionate about, people who care about you, and being authentic makes a lot of difference.
[26:00] What should we expect from you?
You will get authenticity. We are not polished or tell you something theoretical, we will tell you the things that worked for us in an extreme and intense environment. We figure out what your culture needs to “eat” all of your competitors.
[27:27] What promise did God make to the world when He created you?
Michael: To be a bridge between people and bring them together.
Shaun: To be the one who turns on the lights of anyone’s brilliance.
Key Quotes:
[22:04 – 22:07] “You are not pushing hard enough if no one opposes you.”
[22:45 – 22:48] “It’s all about inspiring human brilliance regardless of what you do.”

In today’s episode, our guest is Michael Burt, a former championship coach, author, and the founder of Monster Producer. He builds Greatness Factories worldwide, and his whole heart is to serve everybody else to get you to understand what it’s like to take that next level and activate your pre-draft.
[5:06] When did you understand the importance of methodology?
I have a methodology of helping you find your voice and the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People. I’m going to teach all my players the seven habits, every play that plays for me, and I’m going to teach principle-centered leadership.
[11:01]What kept you ticking?
The first time I began to understand placing an intention in the world and manifesting a dream. There are certain things that activate for me. It was a competition, that was me. I have a strong desire to be known. I think that’s a seed of something that would manifest later in my life.
[13:27] Overcoming the fear to leave what they’re already doing.
I would go to the mountains, and I would just stay up in the mountains for two or three days and just decompress. I’m starting right within those days. I’ve drawn it up like what I’m going to do, how we’re going to win this, and how we’re going after winning a championship.
[20:57] Monster Production
I produce these big-time people. I found a definition in the dictionary that says a monster is a legendary creature, and I thought that’s cool. That’s going to be the name of my coaching program, “Monster Producers.” We’re producing legendary creatures.
[24:14]Greatness Factory
The Greatness Factory is a unique destination where we manufacture greatness. So it is its own entity. I’m really working with people who are already up and going.
[27:26] What promise did God make to the world when He created you?
I think the promise that this dude will unlock the potential in millions of people around the world.
Key Quotes
[15:45-15:46] “it didn’t matter how much I want. There was a bigger play for me.”
[24:45-24:32]“I’m really working with people who are already up and going..”
[27:54-28:01} “That’s what his life’s purpose for 28 years. That’s all I’ve been doing, man. I can’t cook. I’m good, graphically illiterate. I can’t. I can’t fix a car, man. There’s a lot of things I can do. But it gave me the ability to activate that drive in people”.

In today’s episode, our guest is Victor Briere, the co-founder of the International Institute of Ayurveda. He serves as a NAMA-recognized Ayurvedic Doctor and Kundalini Yoga Teacher. He is a gifted pulse reader specializing in ayurvedic diagnostic techniques and health counseling. He is the primary clinician and the Chief Academic Officer of the Academy. His in-depth, individualized approach to health offers clients and students a detailed and encompassing perspective on the underlying causes of imbalance. He offers the support often needed to successfully address the root cause of illness and restore the body to balance.
[5:55]Why should we listen to you?
The first thing I’m going to tell you to do is to stop drinking that coffee. That usually piques people’s interest. You should listen because I spent a long time researching what kind of the basic fundamental brass tacks get down to the realities of the body are.
[6:34] I’m going for the deep down "What is it" because I know we’ve been there. We think one thing, and then we end up doing another.
[7:01] When I run my clinic, what I deal with all day is helping people sit down and create a protocol or a lifestyle that’s going to heal them and the fundamental root causes of their imbalances as opposed to just put a band-aid on top of something and call it okay.
[8:05] What are the problems in the conversation of what’s Ayurveda?
When someone comes into my office, there are a few typical things I’ll see. One is digestive issues which is the foundation of a lot of other diseases. Digestive issues are enormous, and that includes weight, whether it’s underweight or overweight. Another is skin issues. These days, the big ones are the two big ones, which are entirely related to each other, which are diabetes, anxiety, and depression.
[8:49]What do you think of the causes of anxiety?
It’s always been around. But the reason it’s inflaming or getting so prominent right now, there are a few reasons, but this is the loneliest time of human history, especially with the COVID reality that we’ve been living in where isolation is at its peak.
[9:23] If you’re isolated, it’s just a matter of time before you get anxious and depressed. It’s the reality of the human nervous system. We’re meant to be communal, and we’re meant to be face to face and to interact and to touch and to hug and to be in compassionate, loving environments. That’s what we’re wired to be.
[10:03]Ayurveda
It is a super ancient, holistic system of health. Holistic means that if I’m looking at you and got this problem, you got congestion, I could give you a herb that says it will help your congestion. But the congestion is just a symptom. I want to know the root cause of why you’re getting congested, to begin with. To do that, I’m going to need to assess your entire body and know about your mental states, lifestyle, the food you’re eating and not eating, your relationships, and all that. Ayurveda is a holistic system that takes all that into account and seeks to assist the body in finding the equilibrium that it is already searching for.
[12:33]Addiction
Addiction is a big word. Addictions are increasing along with depression and anxiety because addiction is what we do to compensate for the true desires we have that can’t be fulfilled that are going unfulfilled.
[13:24] Ayurveda wants to go to the bottom as it always does. There’s no such thing as an antidepressant pill in Ayurveda because we want to deal with the lifestyle and relationship issues that are generating depression and anxiety. There are a lot of solutions when someone’s willing to start looking for real.
[14:09]What are some of the outcomes for individuals who get a chance to work with you?
The testimonials are people heal for real. It’s not a band-aid. You don’t need medication for your medication. You don’t need any of that stuff. If you can find the root cause of your imbalances, in Ayurveda, they’re well laid out.
[15:04] If you could sit down and work it out with a coach, it’s another set of eyes. It’s another set of eyes looking neutrally at your situation.
[16:12]Why don’t more people know about this?
I think in our day and age, there’s a big flood of information out there. Some of it is great, and some of it is not so great. Let’s be honest, a lot of information goes out there; the heart of it is not to get at the truth. The heart of it is to sell you something.
[18:08]How did you get the truth?
There is a reality out there that I’ve never heard about. Since that point, I have just started seeking it. That’s how I got into it. It turns into a whole different thing.
Demand
[21:09] I saw enough clients and people in my clinic who didn’t want to do the work. They were asking for the pharmaceuticals. They say they don’t want to change their diet and lifestyle. They want the drug. I’ve seen that a lot. There is this massive demand. The supplier has specific responsibilities, but you also got to look at the people and demand that they want what they want.
[23:43]If you could find the guy in the car, what would you say to him?
I’d start talking to them. I wouldn’t say much. I start listening. That would be my first move. All humans do it, so we should stop judging other people for doing it. We got to have compassion and listen. There’s a reason that’s happening, and that has a lot to do with our autonomic nervous system.
[24:32] If we had a rough past or a strict upbringing and we are not able to create the resilience inside our bodies to feel safe in the world, we’re going to feel threatened constantly. That’s going to do all sorts of crazy stuff to our body in our mind. We’re going to rely on comfort foods, addictions, or everything, just to get a minute of feeling okay.
[28:23]What promise did God make to the world when He created you?
God promised that you would have someone there by your side to help you heal compassionately.
Key Quote
[17:58-18:03] “First and foremost, we need to make sure that people are being delivered the truth so that they can actually heal.”

In today’s episode, our guest is Tony Chiapetta, Founder and CEO of AMC Solutions. From engineer to entrepreneur, he developed a 400-point process to systematically eliminate every IT problem faced by companies and build a modern IT system to make every employee more productive. His big focus is on upgrading Technology to upgrade people, and today, he breaks down how he helps businesses grow by addressing their technological problems.
[4:55] Why should we listen to you?
I’m gonna help you live your best life.
[5:14] What is living your best life?
It’s focusing on my unique abilities and the things that I love doing. When you’re in that zone, and you’re doing what you love, you’re in the best place where you’re taking advantage of your gifts—time flies. You love what you do, you’re getting passion, you’re giving passion, and you’re getting it back. Your bucket doesn’t get empty in that zone, and you’re living your best life.
[7:00]What is the common thing most people deem as success?
It has an impact that’s greater than oneself. That’s where I find my success. I’m drawn to others who look at bigger things than themselves, that value others tremendously. They know that they can live their best lives by helping other people, whether that’s me starting a company. I can only get so far by myself. I need to bring other people who will then take the vision and be a part of it and guide it forward. So they can be successful in their lives and careers and intertwine that with mine.
[9:26] Once you figure out what your passion and start tying that to your purpose, it simplifies.
[10:20] How do we get to the point where this man one day goes, “I’m going to teach people how to be able to upgrade their lives
I was an engineer, and I started AMC Modern IT when I was 23. I went to schools, pre-med but that didn’t work out for me. It’s not my thing, not my passion. I ended up getting into business information systems because I love Technology, and it’s a good zone for me.
[11:42] In 2014, I wrote it on my wall, “I’m going to stop doing what I’m doing, and start creating a business” because I just built this giant ball of chaos when there’s a problem with this reactive company, even though we’ve got tools. I was killing my people. They were in server rooms all weekend fixing some emergency here, some chaos there. I don’t know how to set up a new user for this customer. I’m getting yelled at, and it’s just a chaotic nightmare. I decided to go deep into business planning, structure, roles, responsibility, helping people define what success looks like for them, putting people in the right place, and defining what our passion and purpose are. That’s where we discovered we’re not in the business of Technology. We’re in the business of human productivity.
[13:26]How does somebody even start the process of finding out what they need and what they don’t need when it comes to choosing the right tech for what they do.
It’s counterintuitive to us engineers. It’s not a technology decision. It’s a business decision.
[16:37]Resistance or Apprehension
The beauty of my job is I never have to convince anybody. I educate them on their current experiences and what they could have. If they value their people, they’ll see the light bulb will go off. If they don’t, then it’s not a good fit for us.
[19:55]How do you foresee the future unfolding?
In my humble view, I see it continuing along the path we are. As you learn how to use Technology, it frees you up to live your best life and live more on your unique ability.
[21:38] Technology will enable us if we choose to embrace it and get a little bit of training on it. We should stop doing the stuff we don’t like so that we can because we’re the ones that are responsible for creating new things through right and coming up with new disruptive tech, whether it’s technology ideas, methods of caring for each other, or saving that time in writing your mom a letter.
[25:46]What promise did God make to the world when He created you?
That I’m going to have an impact on the masses to help them live a better life.
Key Quotes
[8:51-9:06] “If you could slow down, stop doing all the day-to-day stuff, start, get out of the zone, get out of the swiping and checking your notifications, and just think about what you love to do help. Start by thinking about what you hate doing and cross that off the list.”
[17:38-17:45] “So it just starts with educating people on the world that they could have. If they have less stuff, we can show you how to do more.”

In today’s episode, our guest is Brandon Miller, a certified Immigration Consultant with ICCRC and is the founder of Maple Immigration Services. Brandon is passionate about everything immigration and enjoys helping people come to Canada and seeing that they get integrated into the country. He has worked as a settlement counselor, a volunteer to the regulatory body, and a teacher at a local college where he enjoys teaching and mentoring new immigration students. He is the author of the Second Passport, which outlines this system and introduces the idea and benefits of a Second Passport in Canada.
[5:00]Why should we listen to you?
I’ve been helping people come to Canada for about ten years. But outside of that, I’ve gone through the system myself. I’m a seventh-generation Canadian, and a lot of people think like, “Oh, what does he know about immigrating to Canada?” I went through the process myself because I sponsored my wife. I understand the stress and frustration from that perspective.
[7:03]What was the itch to teach?
When I got into my early 30s, I found out that I didn’t like what I was doing. I was making pretty good money, and I had a pretty good life, but I didn’t like what I was doing. I enjoyed law, and I came across immigration by mistake. It was a nice mix because it combined legal training, international experience, and different things.
[8:06] One of the things that I wanted to do with Second Passport is that I wanted to open this up to people and take away the financial constraints. I’ve had this idea of giving people the option to the service, do it themselves, do it with some help, or have me do it for them. I’m pretty much ahead of the curve in my industry to do that here because nobody else is offering that option.
[9:06] What’s one thing people don’t even consider when immigrating to Canada?
What people are looking at, they don’t understand how easy it is, especially now we have monumental and generational quotas that we’ve opened up here for people to come to Canada. But from an American perspective, there are many benefits in terms of health care which is the number one thing that I hear and the retirement childcare benefits. I’ve heard things from some people to like the environmental argument.
[10:42] What many people are doing is planning in terms of health care. That’s the number one thing that I hear, and I really want to stay away from all the election stuff, but you’ll see it in the news all the time.
[12:27]What’s the heart behind why you want to help people have access to Canada?
First of all, the government, Canada’s running a Ponzi scheme. The reason is that we need younger people to be able to support the benefits that we have, like health care, the retirement benefits, and all of that stuff.
[13:06] The government wants people here because of the sustainability to continue with the system, which is having younger people that are working, the tax base, etc. What many people don’t understand is that immigrant bases and people shifting to different countries are shrinking. We’ll start to see this in about 2065. Canada is sitting quite well in terms of being able to attract talent and whatnot.
[14:19] Personally, I see myself as a nation builder where I’m bringing in people who will form the next generation. I could go on for hours of the incredible people that I’ve brought to this country. There are many people that want to change and move and come to different places around the world. Canada is one of those top destinations. It’s a very culturally diverse place, and we have the same freedom that we have in the western world anywhere else, and there are also significant benefits.
[16:19]Why do you think Canadians are nicer people?
I think it’s a mentality. Canada didn’t entirely separate from the British monarchy until 1982. We had about 100 year period where we’re like, “Oh, maybe we can do this, or do that. It’s chill in that respect. One of the things that I find when I’m speaking to American people coming here is that it’s not culturally hard to come in and adapt to Canada, as opposed to the States. It’s pretty much the same.
[17:49] Culturally, Canada and the US are pretty along the same line. It’s a comfortable place, it’s close to home, it’s an excellent option, but again, if people are younger, they can come they can get their second passport, and then they can leave and come back in 30 or 40 years and have access to the health care have access to the retirement communities that people have.
[18:51] You have to spend your time in the US. If you’re not going to make an entry at least every six months, that can put your green card in jeopardy. In Canada, you have to be physically present there for two out of five years. You can literally land, get your PR and then go away for three years and come back and do your two years, and then go away for another three years, or you can stay, be physically present in Canada for three years, and get your citizenship. Once you get your second passport, you’re gone. You can come back in 30 or 40 years. They don’t take the passport away, which is also an excellent option.
[19:52]How easy is it to apply?
Like anything in life, you have to have a plan. What I do is I do an immigration blueprint where people can go in, and they can figure out where they sit.
[20:38] People have to figure out which one’s the easiest, most cost-effective, and all that. I do that in the immigration blueprint. The implementation is applying. Then in the settlement, this is where a lot of people make their mistake because prior to me doing immigration, one of the things that I was doing as I was helping newcomers settle into Canada, a lot of people weren’t doing what they need to do to be able to be successful here.
[21:33] What I’ve done is I’ve taken all my internal processes from my immigration practice and distilled it down into an easy, manageable system that people can do themselves because I find there are different types of clients. Some people need me to do their file for them, and then some people need it laid out for them, and they need to know where the traps are. They can do it themselves. They need a little push here and there, to make sure that they don’t get into trouble.
[22:22] It’s so easy to actually come here if you actually implement it. This is not something I created. This is just the secret to life. Just understand what your plan is, get your goal, and make it happen.
[20:03] What promise did God make to the world when He created you?
I want to actually look at myself at my funeral, and I would like to have a room of people who I’ve actually changed their lives, and I’ve impacted them and given them a positive future. My way of doing that is by giving them a safe and secure home here in Canada.
[24:21] If you’re good things in the world, you have to increase your impact to do that. You have to find out how you can get this out to more people. That’s what Second Passport is for me. I’m looking at my funeral as a scorecard, and I hope that I can continue to change people’s lives. Give them a really good opportunity here not only for themselves but for their kids. That’s what I’m about, and that’s what Second Passport is about.
Key Quotes
[11:59-12:08] ‘If you’re younger, you have a bit of education, you speak English, it’s pretty easy to get in here. And that’s what a lot of people don’t understand.”
[15:27-15:37] “It’s a compelling thing when you get to change somebody’s life and know not only am I changing their life, but I’m changing their kids and their grandkids and everybody. It’s fantastic.”

[5:58]Why should we listen to you?
A reason why you should listen to me is that I’m genuinely a nice person. I meet people where they’re at, without any baggage and preconceptions. I try and make my way around and help people discover stuff they don’t realize is going on in their lives and give them that lever to step into their best self again. I’m one of the people who love to listen and help you discover what you’re truly made of and push you to get to that next level in life.
[7:09]What lead you to have a Ph.D. in Medical Imaging and Spectroscopy?
I was always interested in science as a kid. I was choosing between becoming a doctor and a medical doctor and doing physics. When I was a kid, I told myself that I wasn’t intelligent enough to become a doctor, and I didn’t have the memory capacity to do that. I chose physics because it’s more on formula and not much memory required. You just have to apply what you learn. That’s what started me in my physics field.
[8:19]
I started on a four-year degree and ended up spending seven years at university in the end because I just loved it so much. I didn’t know what I wanted to do. I just wanted to get more education. I wanted to go into imaging the brain when I was looking for a Ph.D., and I stumbled across the Ph.D. on Terahertz Imaging and Spectroscopy. I had no idea what it was about, and it was a new field of study, so I dove straight into it. After all, I was interested in looking at cancer because my grandmother died of breast cancer. I wanted to do something meaningful from a medical perspective.
[10:30]Entering the Corporate World
I joined the firm because I wanted to get back to medical imaging. That was really where my passion was, and I wanted to get back to life science and healthcare. I wanted to explore. I’d always been a consultant and a contractor running my own business, and I wanted to experience life in the corporate world. I also wanted to have a family. That was my motive to join this company.
[12:59]What was the motivation for High-Performance Coaching?
I realized that it wasn’t just me. The framework I use for my clients was born as I felt the business wasn’t looking at the facts behind what was happening to me.
[13:39]
I just realized that I needed to break free and discover my best self. My whole vision for my business was to help other people harness their potential, and I wasn’t doing it for myself. I went on this transformational journey with coaching, and one of the drivers behind joining the corporate world was to get professional coaching.
[17:49]How did the coaching start?
I had some people coming to me. My friends came to me, and then I just built it from there. I built my connections with the Amen clinics and became certified as a coach through the Amen University. But on the way, my husband and I were able to realize our dreams of ski touring across the French Alps. It turned out that it wasn’t just him and I ski touring. Eight months later, our daughter Lily was born.
[18:46]
That kind of really shifted me into helping my clients in the business space and helping people who have kids who are struggling with their brain health.
[19:14]What do you think is unique about the figured out mentality?
Everything is kind of figure out-able. You’ve just got to have the patience to do it. The only person that gets in your way in terms of progress is you. No one else gets in your way because other people may tell you you’re not capable. You don’t have to listen to them. It’s your choice as to what you choose to listen to and what you don’t.
[20:00]
From a military perspective, we’ve been part of expeditions climbing unclimbed peaks in Greenland. You never know if you’re going to get to the top. You have to have faith, belief, determination, and strength. Know that even if you don’t get there, there will always be another way.
[20:49]Do you have hope for what’s currently going on?
In this situation, I have hope. We have the opportunity to change. We’ve got a real opportunity to make a shift. It’s about whether we’ve got the willingness to do that. We’ve seen the power of the people in this pandemic. We’ve had phenomenal success by everybody pulling together to get people vaccinated. We’re now over two-thirds of the population has been received their first vaccination. That’s a phenomenal achievement in the space of a year when we’ve gone from not knowing what to do with no solution in sight to where we are today.
[22:00]
We’ve shown how successful as a race we can be when we work together and when we connect not just physically, but through the power of zoom and all the other available platforms, the power that we have to share our message and make a real difference to other people’s lives.
[22:28]
It’s now time for people to stand up, make their voices heard, and make it count and give that power back to people that they feel lost due to the pandemic.
[23:13]How do you see yourself showing up for the next six months?
The most important thing for me is to help people unchain their pain and using havening. I’ve noticed with my clients that you can give people all the tools in the world, but if they’re held back from past pain and can’t let it go, it’s like being on a bungee cord. You’re running forward to your destination and get yanked back again. You have to break those chains to make that progress forward.
[24:20]Havening
The great thing about havening is that it uses the power of the human touch to help you unchain yourself from emotional pain that you may have experienced from your past or your experience in your present. It’s a very similar approach to other therapies like EMDR. The great thing is you can empower the person to do the work on themselves.
[25:19]
Everybody at every age is struggling to some degree. The power of havening gives you back that ability to release some of the emotional charges you may have from day-to-day anxiety or stress.
[26:14]
When I was at rock bottom, it’s hard to get out of bed. It’s hard to lift your feet and put them on the floor. Your emotional energy and negative energy leaks out whether you like it or not. When you bury it, it has to go somewhere. It doesn’t just dissipate. It comes out in the form of anger for some people. For others, it may come out in the form of skin conditions. It leaks out of your body because there’s a limit.
[26:52]
Havening is a great tool to help people manage their emotions, take back control of their mindset, and help them break free of the ones that aren’t helping and leverage those that are, and empower them to move forward.
[27:46]What promise did God make to the world when He created you?
When He created me, He promised to help people win back their power to step into their best selves. To show people how they can take back control of their power is through techniques such as havening and health coaching to break free of the things that prevent them from showing up as their best self.
Key Quotes
[9:51-9:57] “When you’re an entrepreneur, you’ve got no idea where you’re going on and how to get there.”
[22:54-23:02] “People need something to lift them, to lift their spirits, and to raise them out of the ashes.”

[5:46]Why should we listen to you?
From so many angles, at the end of the day, I’ve been through so much.
[8:23] The Wallet
When you’re deep in that mindset, like you felt like all hope is gone, the sad thing is I had a son at the time, it can be kind of selfish, but you’re only thinking about yourself. You’re only thinking that things are not going to get any better. It’s really dark, and all the voices in your head are making your life seem very rational.
[8:45]
At that time, I get out of the car. In my head, I’m thinking about what bottle of pills that I’m going for. I get to the store, and I pat my pockets to make sure I have any money, but I left my wallet at home. At that moment is when I said that there must be more to this than what I’m thinking, and it was just me leaving my wallet.
[10:56] How it came together and the journey.
Better is not like sunny skies, and everything is good. You have this revelation that everything is just awesome, and you realized the error of your ways. But it’s not like that. It’s a day-by-day process of thinking that you have a purpose. It’s not as dark as you think it is. It’s taking it day by day.
[12:04]
I always think that things are not as bad as they are and that I have my son, my son. After the whole wallet incident, it was like a trigger reminder that my son needs me. That’s what made me hang in there.
[13:29]What was the catalyst moment?
I was riding back from the hospital. That night, we lost Joshua. My wife delivered him, and I remember my family coming into the room, and my dad was carrying him, and he started talking to him and almost could not receive the fact that this child has passed. And we had to kind of get my dad together.
[14:55] That whole day, our whole family was in the hospital room, everybody’s down. At this time, I ended up going home to get some fresh clothes. I’m driving back to the hospital, and I’m crying my eyes out. Then the song played. It was the most heavenly. I don’t know. I can’t describe the feeling in the car.
[15:41] I made a decision in the car that day. I said, “You know what, life is too short. Life is too short for me not to accomplish my dreams. Life is too short to take life for granted.”
[16:35] Rosice’s Mission
I told myself that my mission is to spread joy wherever I go, whatever I do, whatever endeavor I do. I’m going to spread joy to people because I’ve been to some dark places. It’s better to experience joy in life when life is short.
[12:20]What was it like letting your wife know what your heart and mind were looking to do?
I didn’t discuss it with her for a while. It took both of us some time. We both process that a little differently. I didn’t grow up in an affectionate household, and my wife really needed that affection, but I couldn’t give it to her. There was a transition period there with me trying to be something that wasn’t given to me and how hard that was.
[20:15]
We were starting a company, she was my first employee. She was always there, and she understands the talent that I have. She’s another one that understands when I say to spread joy. She’s right there with me. Whatever endeavor or whatever we wanted to do pertaining to that, she understands the heart of where that comes from.
[23:06]What are the budding years of you venturing into this business?
With everything being about joy, whoever I hired had to understand that. What I didn’t do a good job in those beginning years is sharing where that came from because what coined us here in Charlotte are the joy distributors. God gave us a bucket of joy, and we’re just distributing. We’re out eventually is distributing.
[27:09]Having a Good Time
My thing is that I like to see people having a good time because I know what it’s like to be in a dark place.
Key Quotes
[7:07-7:19] “Issues can really weigh you down depending on how severe. When you’re by yourself, you know how much that stuff weighs on you.”
[12:44-12:50] “Even men of faith, women of faith, people that love God, and regardless of your religion, you have questions.”
[13:04-13:12] “Even though you trust God, and that’s awesome to hear. But when you’re in the heat, when you’re in the jungle, it can be very difficult.”
[26:09-26:11] “You never know what’s going on with people in the room.”
