Nitesh Mohanty @nimo_obscura is a visual artist who works at the fluid intersection of arts, culture, media, communication and self-reflection. His theoretical interests are also wide, often inquiring about the roots and fundamentals of art history, storytelling, and philosophy. He is currently heading the Crafting Creative Communication Programme at MICA where he shares the relationship between art, design, photography & cinema through a course called ‘Ways of Seeing’. His studio is committed to development of ideas using local crafts that have evolved over centuries. His work represents a fusion of unique creativity and uncompromising integrity rare to find in the highly competitive world market. Strategically based in Jaipur the company has a large variety of crafts to play with be it beaten brass, stone carving or even mirror work. Ayush’s products reflect a detailed understanding of processes and materials simultaneously paying homage to the tradition of crafts. He works with craftspeople and artisans mainly from Rajasthan.  In order to revive ancient crafts and provide consistent livelihood to them, he has developed ideas to produce relevant objects that are utilitarian, beautiful and fun.

Vaibhav Kumaresh @vaibhavstudios  Founder and Director at Vaibhav Studios, Mumbai  Vaibhav Kumaresh is an animation film maker and is currently Founder, Director at Vaibhav Studios, Mumbai. Founded in 2003, the studio has created some of India’s favourite animated content in the field of TV commercials and channel promos: the Amaron Battery ad campaign, Chulbuli for Clinic Plus, Buladi’s AIDS awareness campaign for the West Bengal government, the Vodafone Zumis, Simpoo the angry sardaar math teacher on Channel [V] and Lamput the globally acclaimed, Emmy nominated micro short series for Cartoon Network to name a few. The studio is currently working on its maiden feature film titled Return of the Jungle.  A Fine Arts graduate, Vaibhav studied animation film making at the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad. He is an active committee member of The Animation Society of India (TASI) and is currently the Honorary Secretary of the society. Vaibhav also teaches animation and is a visiting faculty at various animation and design schools across India.

Ishan Khosla is a Delhi-based visual artist, designer and researcher with an MFA in Design from the School of Visual Arts, New York. He is a partner at Ishan Khosla Design LLP and The Typecraft Initiative. Having returned to India after living in the United States for over a decade, Ishan is interested in exploring various facets of the contemporary Indian milieu through design. Whether it is to make a digital typeface from an ancient tribal art or an LED light for a primordial water ewer - he is interested in creating new juxtapositions in terms of material, time, function and culture. He is passionate about the value hand made crafts offer us both from a sustainability and socio-cultural context and his initiatives, such as The Typecraft Initiative explore the crossover between craft, design and tech by making digital typefaces from Indian crafts. Typecraft has caught the imagination of organisations world-wide. Ishan has spoken about the initiative at Typo Berlin and exhibited it at Atelier Muji Ginza in Tokyo, at the London Design Festival and the Fukuoka Asian Art Museum.

Rahul Mishra  is an Indian fashion designer based in Delhi. He won the International Woolmark Prize in 2014 at Milan Fashion Week, becoming the first Indian designer to win the award. The winning collection was sold in stores around the world. In 2008, he was awarded the MTV Youth Icon of the Year by MTV India. The young man who moved out of a UP village and journeyed to Milan works mainly with craft communities in the villages of Gujarat, West Bengal and Madhya Pradesh. Mishra’s studio has catalysed many experiments with Indian handlooms, weaving silk with cotton, wool with silk, to create new textures and weaves. “Design is the only place where science and art come together and that’s what I love the most,” he says. Fashion designer Anuj Sharma works mainly in areas of craft development and sustainability. Sharma’s other areas include teaching fashion and understanding human behaviour with the help of fashion. He has previously shown collection in Japan, UK, Sweden, and Bangladesh. He is also a regular at Lakme fashion week in Mumbai.  Anuj Sharma has come up with a unique method to construct clothes without any machine, tools or stitches technique. It is titled Button Masala. The method has led to the Button Masala collection, which has been shown internationally for e.g. as part of the travelling exhibition Connecting Concepts by Dutch design DFA, and part of the exhibition Bliss at the Taiwan design expo 2011. He has taught the technique of Button Masala to over 20000 people across the world.
