SENSITIVE TOPIC: In this very special episode of #inconversation which marks Baby Loss Awareness Week, Natalie is joined by grief specialist and CEO of Saying Goodby charity Zoe Clark-Coates to talk the devastating and heartbreaking impact baby loss can have on women, their partners and their support network.
During this episode Natalie & Zoe both reflect on their own personal experiences of baby loss and how those experiences have affected their mental health, wellbeing and personal relationships and how their past trauma is still felt today. Discussing her ‘missed miscarriage’ in 2010 Natalie speaks openly about the lack of support and after care she received and how it added to her feelings of shame and guilt and how the work that Zoe is doing on the UK governments Baby Loss Review is vital to the wellbeing of parents and their support systems.
This open and honest conversation aims to raise awareness of the insensitive language used around baby loss and how so much more needs to be done to protect bereaved parents at all stages of their grief and no matter what the gestation of their baby.
