Episode 73:
Illinois legislature passed a bill to allow rifle hunting during the already established shotgun season beginning in 2023. The law states only a single shot rifle may be used, but there are some question marks concerning the language of the bill.

Episode 71:
Many don't know this, but there are free ranging Elk in West Texas. They were introduced into the McKittrick Canyon in 1928. Today, five herds of Rocky Mountain Elk exist in the Guadalupe, Glass, Wylie, Davis and Eagle Mountains of West Texas.

The State of Texas considers Elk to be an exotic animal. What does this mean? It means you can hunt Elk year-round with limited restrictions. A non-resident 5-day special hunting license for $48, or annual version for $132, is all you need! It is known as license number 157.

Finding public land can be a challenge, however. There isn't much remaining in Texas.

NO, the Backwoods Boys have not committed any hunting violations. Instead, we discuss the issues involving Game Warden rights vs. private property intrusion and the most recent court case in Tennessee that may ultimately change the way Game Warden's do their job.

Tim and Mike have both been working diligently on their properties getting them set up for opening day of bow season in 7 short weeks.

Putting in Killer Food Plots, clearing shooting lanes, setting new stand locations, making sure trail cameras are fully charged, doing inventory on camo and gear, and so much more!

Putting in the work in the preseason will pay dividends in the season. Don't delay! Most importantly, shoot your bow and make sure it is tuned and ready to go before taking a shot at an animal.
