Episode 56:
Deer food plots come in all shapes, sizes, styles and seed types, but we are talking primarily about those hard to reach backwoods remote plots.

We discuss what has worked for us in the past and some tips on how to create that small opening between bedding and main feeding areas (also known as staging areas).

Episode 55:
We take a look at the wild turkey harvest numbers in Illinois and Kentucky over the past few years. Kentucky's 2022 harvest was the lowest in 14 years. Illinois saw a decline of approximately 2500 birds between the 2021 and 2020 seasons. 

We discuss various ideas on what may be contributing to the decline and look at the report published by Field and Stream.

Episode 54: BUCK FILES WITH BILLY WHEELER
Billy Wheeler, a friend of the show, spent some time in studio with us to talk about his 2021-2022 archery season in Illinois.

Billy had the opportunity to harvest a giant typical whitetail that gross scored 183" on October 20th in Southern Illinois. Just 5 days later, Billy struck again this time with a 157 7/8" whitetail.

Episode 52:

Our good friend of the show, and all around great person, Tony Dempsey joins us to talk about deer tracking dogs. More specifically, the Bavarian Mountain Scenthound.

Tony's dog Finn had a very successful first tracking season and helped to put a smile on a lot of faces. This was a fun and entertaining episode, but also very educational on the topic of deer tracking.

Tony also had a successful turkey season and we get into the details of a few of those hunts.

Episode 48:
It is officially turkey season here in the Southern Illinois and Western Kentucky region. As well as many other states. We are seeing several birds hit the ground. Always love a successful hunt.

Tim and Mike discuss the hunting gear necessary for turkey hunting and also get into some of the gear that we consider to be optional, but yet still valuable.

Our heart goes out to Travis "T-Bone" Turner with the Bone Collector. T-Bone was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer known as Fibrosarcoma. The tumor on his leg was too large and intertwined, which ultimately led to his leg being amputated.

We are praying for you T-Bone and can't way to see you getting back after it soon!

The State of Missouri has announced that they have a wild pig problem in the Southeast Missouri region. 35 counties mostly in the southern part of the State. However, MDC and the Forest Service have outlawed hunting as an option to get the population under control.
