Welcome to the Backwoods Bowhunter Podcast. Our show is laid back and tends to get off topic every so often. Our goal is to provide a podcast that feels like you're sitting around a campfire with buddies talking about bowhunting.

It is 36 weeks until opening day. Yes, we are already counting down.

Tim checked out the new Trophy Ridge Digital React bow sight at ATA.

Tim is interested in being an official Pope & Young measurer.

Tim and Mike offer their opinions and weigh the differences between saddle hunting, hang on stands and climbers.

Tim came back from the ATA show just in time to get sick. He gives a brief review of this year's show.  It was a much smaller show than in the past, but still a good time!

We published 1,570 minutes, or 94,249 seconds, of content in 2021. Thank you to all who contributed to listening!

Utah bans the use of trail cameras during the hunting season. Quoting: "It's not a fair hunt any longer."

The Boone and Crockett Club has issued some controversial rule changes on what they now consider ethical hunting.  B&C stated. "The use of smart scopes, GPS enabled tech and trail cams that transmit images in real time isn't fair chase. Trophy animals taken with any of these technologies are no longer eligible for the record book."

It is New Year's Eve when this episode goes live. Hope everyone has a safe and blessed New Year.

It is hard to believe we are already past Christmas let alone beginning a new year. It is also hard to believe we are approaching one year of hosting this podcast.

We got an email question about late season cold weather apparel recommendations. We discuss a few of our options for this.

Stay with us in 2022! Good things are coming!

It is Christmas Eve when this episode goes live. Tim got the family a brand new Honda Pioneer 1000 Deluxe! We are excited to put it to work on the property.

We got an email question about hunting dusk vs dawn. We break that question down into further details, but overall, the best answer is to know your hunting property and trust your trail cameras.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Team Backwoods joins up for a Saturday night all BS edition. We really don't know what happened to the audio quality on our guest microphone so we apologize for that up front and will work on troubleshooting it.

Mike's son, Jimmy, kills his first buck and it is a cool deer. Would have been an 11 point, but his right side has all broken off except the G2. The left side is intact with a little kicker.

That's 8 whitetails that have been given a dirt nap in 2021 from team Backwoods Bowhunter.
