There are thousands upon thousands of series in Japan that are patiently waiting to get their change for a publication in North America. Sure, many fans can read them online from freelance translators, but having the official publication of a manga series finally released physically is a completely different feeling! That being said, it seems like many of the main distributors of manga outside of Japan don't really have their fingers to the pulse for what manga fans are truly asking for. Minecraft the manga? Dark Souls manga? More Boruto?!? Not to mention swapping digital series between apps??? This just screams 'suits in a conference room thinking they know weeb stuff...' Frankfurtter and MagicallyAverage go over some of the recent "big" manga announcements and talk about the ever growing gap of manga series not being translated over for English readers.

It's what you've always wanted. What you've been asking for since the boys first came together. A sensual recording done live, in-person, in a hotel room in Atlanta, GA. OK, maybe you didn't ask for the specifically, but Frankfurtter and MagicallyAverage FINALLY managed to complete a live recording of the podcast when they were together! Hooray, for small victories!! This live recording took place at MomoCon 2024 in Atlanta, GA where the BakaCo Podcast was invited as content creators and panelists of the con! The boys recap their time at the con and the wild sequence of events that took place throughout the weekend. Enjoy the (hopefully) first of many live recordings of the BakaBites podcast!!!

Artificial Intelligence, something everyone talks about but very few know what it actually is (us included...). Who would have guessed that AI would seep into the anime and manga world in such a short period of time?! MagicallyAverage and Frankfurtter go through some recent news reports on AI in the manga space and how its affecting the industry. From an AI company scraping over 700,000 manga and light novels to train their AI model to an Orange that is the poster child of a new manga translation company, the boys talk about the future of the manga industry and whether AI will take it over o((⊙﹏⊙))o.

Everything is getting more and more expensive these days; fast food, gas, and now my anime!! Crunchyroll has yet again increased their subscription prices, but little to nothing has changed that would warrant these changes. Anime fans are becoming increasingly irritated by the higher prices and number of streaming services where anime is aired outside of Japan. Solution? They're taking to the high seas! What impact could this have on the anime industry in North America and Europe? Frankfurtter and MagicallyAverage talk through the many layers of the anime industry and why becoming a pirate could have a negative impact on the anime being produced in the United States.

You just have to ruin it for everybody, don't you...? Yeah, I'm talking to you! You know who you are. (¬_¬") MagicallyAverage and Frankfurtter talk about the depressing news out of Japan concerning recent bans due to poor tourist behavior. Areas of the Gion District in Kyoto are now restricted due to tourists abusing the businesses and individuals in the area just for a picture of the geisha wandering the streets. The Japanese government is even erecting a wall over a Lawson's in Fujikawaguchiko because tourists were littering so much and causing traffic blocks just to snap a viral photo... While its great to see the tourism industry thrive in such a beautiful country, it is a shame that many people are taking advantage of the niceties that Japan has to offer. The Baka Bois will share their thoughts on the matter in this week's episode.

The day H E double hockey sticks freezes over is the day anime fans will finally calm down about the MyAnimeList ranking system; so, never... Since its inception in 2006, fans have used MAL as a site to shout their opinions about their most loved and hated anime into the vacuum of the anime internet. But why are fans constantly throwing temper tantrums whenever an anime takes the #1 spot?? The duo also unveils some other sites that are useful (and less contentious) about their anime lists as well! Join in as we take a deep look into the wonders of MyAnimeList!
