On this week of Bakers Bantering, the family comes together to grieve the loss of beloved Mimi Warren. Thankfully the episode begins and finishes on a lighter note, with plenty of love and memories shared throughout. Speaking of love, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce continue to make headlines as Jenna continues her belief in the strength of their relationship, and Valerie appears to be hopping on the bandwagon as well. Katy dyes her hair, and shoutout to our guy Rusty Morris Designs because we now have MERCH! (0:34-10:48). It was a tough week in the Baker house with the passing of Valerie’s mother, Mimi Warren. Derek and Katy received immense support from their respective coworkers. Jenna admires her mothers strength, and Valerie explains where she got it from (11:23-23:23). There were so many gracious angels that helped throughout the week that all seemed to have some sort of family connection. If Mimi could have written her own script, this would’ve been it, holding her faith and independence until the very end. Derek has stayed strong all week, and Mimi’s church hosted a beautiful memorial in her honor (23:57-36:58). Valerie shares some moving, final remarks about her mother, including a beautiful, bittersweet ending. Derek shares how he intends to honor Mimi Warren to the wrestling world. Special thanks to everyone who has shown us love and support this week (37:03-55:50). There is no lack of emotion in the Weekly Wrestling Wrap Up, as Derek has some strong words for Damian Priest, Dominik Mysterio, and The Judgement Day. He also has a…theory…about Austin Theory (57:04-1:09:17). Thanks to our friends at Cricket, Derek was able to FaceTime one of his favorite Superstars, Kofi Kingston! The tofu comments continue during AEW highlights (1:09:19-1:24:25). Derek shares his excitement and his disappointment in two big SmackDown headlines; Damage CTRL adds two new members (and Derek wants them to add another, Becky Lynch), and Santos Escobar turns on Rey Mysterio. The anticipation for War Games continues to build (1:24:28-1:42:46).

On this week of Bakers Bantering, our cousin Kyle is in town from Kansas City and joins us on the podcast! Sadly he is in town for a somber reason, because of unfortunate news regarding our beloved Mimi Warren. With Derek and Jenna still processing what’s going on, they wanted a bit of normalcy. They shared some kind words about Mimi Warren, and it’s rare to have cousin Kyle in town on a weekday, so he was more than happy to join the show (0:51-4:30). Kyle shares his impressive resumé in the marketing and advertising realm. Jenna explains that he’s been an intricate part of the rise and expansion of Baker Banter and has been a tremendous help on the business side of things (4:32-9:24). Kyle used to work at Snapchat, and Derek enlisted his help when he ran into a posting problem back in the day. Derek discovered a problem that even the people working at Snapchat didn’t know about (9:35-13:55). Derek has learned a lot about posting on social media since becoming a TikTok star. Kyle gives him some insight about the type of work he used to do, and shares advice to anyone looking to get their foot in the marketing and advertising world (14:51-18:17). Kyle used to work on branding, and connected Snapchat with companies and movies like The Nun, which prompted Derek to share stories about his hilarious encounters with actual nuns (18:22-22:55). In the lengthy Weekly Wrestling Wrap Up, Derek tells us he has entered his Iyo Sky era, and reminisces about meeting Damage CTRL backstage at SmackDown last month (23:47-27:55). There is a big name making a return to NXT. Derek has some choice words for a handful of Superstars on AEW (28:00-42:09). In the WWE, Derek recaps some big wins from Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia, and has some HOT TAKES for his War Games predictions (42:14-1:05:30).

This week on Bakers Bantering, the most anticipated topic to date gets discussed…Jenna got engaged! This episode was recorded on Halloween, so Derek dressed up as one of his favorite WWE Superstars, Bayley, and gave an extra spooky introduction. Another one of Derek’s favorites, Lyra Valkyria, reposted him on Instagram and he couldn’t contain his excitement (1:01-6:00). Derek got fitted for a C-PAP machine and is proud to be a role model for others that are struggling with sleep apnea and other sleeping issues (6:04-9:55). Derek WON the NFL Survivor Pool and will proudly be spending his winnings on various WWE Pay-Per-Views (10:06-12:22). Derek was devising his own plan for his sister’s engagement, but thankfully Jenna’s boyfriend, now fiance, beat him to the punch. Derek also shares his feelings about a guy for Katy after their second date (12:32-19:12). Jenna’s trip to Salt Lake City did not get off to a flying start after almost missing a connecting flight in Denver, but she took matters into her own hands and saved the day just in the nick of time (19:48-30:09). Jenna was convinced that this was NOT her engagement weekend because of two puzzling reasons. Regardless, her, Chris, and friends had a great first night in Salt Lake City which included multiple buckets at a Halloween-themed bar, and apparently the best Mexican food anyone has ever had (30:35-39:55). Jenna and friends head out to Park City for the afternoon and evening. Jenna had a tough bout with some car sickness on the winding mountain roads. Thankfully, once they reached the top of the mountain to take some scenic pictures and get some fresh air, Chris finally popped the question we’ve all been waiting for (44:51-50:43). After saying yes, Jenna obviously had to FaceTime Valerie and Katy, as well as Chris’ parents, and their reactions had some unsuspecting similarities (50:47-53:40). Jenna, Chris, and friends enjoyed a lovely evening in Park City, and Jenna believes there was a spirit of a Baker family member there to celebrate with her. When Jenna and Chris got back home, there was a small engagement party waiting for them. Derek wasn’t in attendance because he couldn’t miss Monday Night RAW, but he did get her a nice gift to make up for it (55:52-1:05:40). The Weekly Wrestling Wrap Up is back and firing on all cylinders, starting off with AEW. Everyone loves The Acclaimed, but Derek isn’t a fan of the Bang Bang Gang anymore (1:06:53-1:18:41). Ric Flair and Sting get a lengthy mention. Derek is not happy with Seth Rollins, and has some fiery predictions for Crown Jewel. Plus, Halloween Havoc recaps from Nights 1 and 2 (1:19:27-1:41:50).

On this week of Bakers Bantering, we recap arguably the most exciting Baker Banter weekend ever, thanks to WWE Friday Night SmackDown and FestAbility! Jenna and Ellis’ Mizzou Tigers suffered their first loss of the season, but Derek is still alive and well in the NFL survivor pool, and Valerie shares her moment of weakness at the grocery store (01:19-06:11). Fall looks good on you, FestAbility. The whole family had an incredible time at the event, complete with a special guest appearance from Derek’s pal Louie, and an incredible performance from Tony Award-Winner Ali Stroker (08:54-14:36). HUGE shoutout to our friends MJ and Jared for giving us the experience of a lifetime backstage at Friday Night SmackDown. We had our own meet-and-greet room where we got to hang out with Santos Escobar, the GOAT John Cena, and many other WWE Superstars (16:38-33:05). After that, Jared took us behind the scenes to where “things go boom”, and along the way we passed multiple seamstresses, hair stylists, and makeup artists getting the Superstars ready for the show. (33:07-38:11). Our buddy Dominik Mysterio found us and let Derek hold the Money in the Bank briefcase. Derek had a special moment with Roman Reigns’ Championship Belt. While meeting with Triple H and Cody Rhodes, Jimmy Uso walked by and Derek had some hard hitting questions for him (38:14-48:50). Derek got to meet his favorite ladies from Damage CTRL and they took an iconic photo. Our other Mysterio friend, Rey, stopped by, and things got heated when Derek told JD McDonagh that he’s got a problem with him (48:52-56:00). On this week of Bakers Bantering, we recap meeting one of Derek’s favorite WWE Superstars, Bayley! The family celebrated the first day of Down syndrome Awareness Month with the Down syndrome Association of Greater St. Louis and the St. Louis Cardinals on the field at Busch Stadium! It was the final game of the season and final game of Adam Wainwright’s career, and a couple Cardinal LEGENDS were there for his retirement ceremony. Needless to say, many tears were shed (01:17-12:10). The Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift excitement continues, as well as Derek’s impressive run in the NFL Survivor Pool and Mizzou football’s hot start. Coach Katy Baker’s season is coming to a conclusion and she recaps the ups and downs from her first year of coaching (12:18-22:26). Thanks to our friends at Cricket Wireless and WWE, Derek got to meet the one and only, Bayley! She was impressed with his knowledge of her accolades and his posing skills. So much so, she thinks there might be a job offer for Derek in the future (26:52-52:42). There are some big returns and big predictions to cover in the Weekly Wrestling Wrap Up. Derek still feels bad for Austin Theory and turns the tables on The Rock and Pat McAfee (52:52-57:31). Derek details some of his favorite matchups from AEW Wrestledream, Rampage, and Collision. Sarah Schwegel, the President of FestAbility, joins us for an exclusive interview to provide all the details for the event this year. We welcome another wrestling world Superstar this week, as AEW’s Colt Cabana joins the show! Sports take center stage in the intro, with a shout out to Coach (Katy) Baker for winning her softball game that the whole family attended. The Kansas City Chiefs didn’t perform as well as the Baker’s would’ve liked, but producer Ellis was ecstatic about that. The PGA Ascension Charity Classic invited Jenna, Derek, and Eric (Baker Banter Dad), as well as good friends Sam and Allison, out for a fun afternoon of golf with some St. Louis LEGENDS (02:13-22:05). Colt Cabana joins the podcast and Derek asks some hard hitting questions. Colt details his current roles with AEW, both in the ring and behind the scenes. He asks Derek for a name for his new tag-team with Brandon Cutler, and gives his recommendations for the best pizza in Chicago, and more. To wrap things up with Colt, we chat about the different roles he’s played on TV, and map out a plan to get together in Chicago around Thanksgiving (22:18-1:11:47).
