Now that we have had a month to digest all these prospects changing organizations thanks to the MLB Trade Deadline, it's time to reflect on who might have gotten the best haul. Judging by early returns, it sure looks like a case can be made for the Mets thanks to Drew Gilbert. The former first-round pick, who came over to New York with Ryan Clifford in exchange for Justin Verlander, has been tearing it up in Double-A. Sam Dykstra of MLB Pipeline joins Bradfo to give his perspective on Gilbert, and a few other early Trade Deadline success stories.
The time to talk about September call-ups is upon us and there is no better person to break down those players who should be focused on than Sam Dykstra of MLB Pipeline. Dykstra joins Bradfo to talk about names you should know when it comes to the expanding rosters, and which prospects involved in Trade Deadline deals have started to separate themselves. The future is now (or at least getting closer).
To prepare you for a conversation that is only going to gain steam, Bradfo, Skiff and Producer Evan started diving into a debate that isn't going to go away: Who should win the National League MVP, Mookie Betts or Ronald Acuna Jr.?
Bradfo is joined by the Power Ranking experts - Producer Evan and Liam 'Skiff' Skiffington - to define who is the best of the best when it comes to the Major League Baseball elite. The Phillies are surging. The Cubs? Who knows. And then you have the battle for the top spot. It's a spicy conversation with even some good MVP - and dinner-paying - debate.
Kendall Graveman was one of the flurry of players sent away from the floundering White Sox, landing back with his former team the Astros. Bradfo caught up with Graveman to talk about a variety of subjects, including the behind-the-scenes difference when playing for Houston, what happened with the White Sox, Joe Kelly's book promotion skills, and, of course, the art of paying for dinner.
Bradfo sits down with Tanner Houck to discuss the story behind how Houck got his hands on the 3D mold of his fractured face, which he know wears on a chain as badge of honor
There was a lot to pick through in David Ortiz's conversation with Bradfo, which is why we want to help pick through it for you. One of the subjects was Ortiz's thoughts on the new rules and how he would have fared. Spoiler: He likes them and he said he would have dominated if playing with them. There you go. There have been so many great examples this season of players changing teams and suddenly changing their results. Many of them have appeared on the Baseball Isn't Boring podcast. Bradfo meets up with a couple of the higher-profile examples from the Trade Deadline - Justin Verlander and Lance Lynn - to dissect exactly how different things are when going from one organization to another and how that can be a springboard to success.
You dream your whole life about getting to the big leagues and then ... boom! ... You're there! Bradfo sits down with Dodgers rookie outfielder James Outman to reflect on what that feeling is like, with all the surprises that come along with it. We then give you the instant reaction from the latest player to be introduced to the big leagues, Red Sox top prospect Ceddanne Rafaela. There are smiles. There are laughs. And there are a lot of unexpected twists and turns. This podcast highlights them all.
Once agian, David Ortiz delivered. Sitting down with Bradfo, the Hall of Famer talked about a variety of subjects such as new rules, clutch hitting, life after baseball gameplan and, of course, Mookie Betts. In this part of the podcast, Ortiz offers a passionate take on his former teammate, explaining why he should have never not been a Red Sox.
