Baseball Isn’t Boring

Nathan Eovaldi has had quite a year with the Texas Rangers, making the American League All-Star team after signing a two-year, $34 million deal with his new team. Eovaldi met with the media during his return to Fenway Park, a place he had called home since 2018. Bradfo was on the scene.

It is the day that makes us stop to remind us how great the national pastime. It is the heart of the baseball season. It is the Fourth of July. Courtney Finnicum joins Bradfo to reflect on why the holiday is so special for baseball fans, and how we should go about celebrating it. The underdog stories in baseball - such as the Orioles, Diamondbacks, Marlins and Reds - are still hanging round. And the Rays certainly aren't exactly collapsing. But as Producer Evan highlights in this week's MLB Power Rankings, it sure feels like the Braves are head and shoulder above everybody else. (Spoiler: They are our No. 1 team.) But there are a couple of hot newcomer who have been also reintroduced to the list.

Mets owner Steve Cohen made news just the other day saying the priority for his ailing club was to find new team president. We are taking that task off his plate. Evan Roberts of WFAN and the Rico Brogna Podcast is officially being named as the man for the job - at least by the Baseball Isn't Boring crew. Bradfo sits down with Roberts to hear his plan on how to fix these Mets. It's ambitious. It's bold. And it is just simply the right thing to do. And these days, the Mets need all the right they can get.

Boston Red Sox shortstop Trevor Story hasn't played in 2023, but he is very optimistic when he returns - which may be in the next month - the version of himself he will be presenting will look a whole lot like what fans witnessed four years ago. Bradfo catches up with Story for an encouraging update.
