Based off history, the chances the top two picks in the 2023 draft class becoming franchise changers is slim to none.
Rafael Barlowe from NBA Draft Junkies and current author of the NBA Big Board newsletter takes a deep dive into th last 32 draft classes and finds that the top two picks are rarely like to both live up to their pre draft hype.
Between 1990 and 2015 there were 21 players selected in the top 2 and never made an All Star appearance. NBA teams are expected to tank for Victor Wembanyama and Scoot Henderson, however it's very unlikely both will end up franchise cornerstones based off history.
