            • 021// Do you know your boundaries? With Coach Patrice

Boundaries are your non-negotiables. Non-negotiables are things that you do not allow to be crossed or to not be met because they are needed for you and your self-care. These are the things that you need in order to feel safe, secure, and at peace.

In relationships with people, boundaries can be hard to set for someone who has never set boundaries before, that is what we are here to help you uncover. You can design your relationship with anyone. What does that mean? It means that you can design in your needs: what you are expecting, what you may have assumed, how you want to go about things, etc. There's one problem though, designing a relationship requires both people to come together and communicate clearly and effectively so that both have been hear and their needs have been acknowledged. Why is it a problem? Well because it first takes one to show up, and we all know that is easier said than done.

So I challenge you that next time you are having conflict in the relationship, take a step back and reflect on the boundaries involved. Do you need to design in the relationship?

Join Coach Patrice and I as we dive into our experiences with boundaries and how they impact people.

Coach Patrice shared her finally thoughts on boundaries:

"Sometimes we don’t recognize the boundaries we have. Then there comes a time that we might face the reality of not having any boundaries or having insufficient ones. Boundaries are very important to protect your standing in a relationship or situation. It’s very hard to keep boundaries if you want to please people or if you want to make them like you. Sometimes there is a critical decision to be made here. I’ve heard it said that boundaries begin with self talk. I actually think that is backwards. We must first define our boundaries, then we must constantly remind ourselves, through positive self-talk, that we are worthy of defining our own life and our relationships."

Patrice helps people, especially women to make necessary changes to living the best life they can. Her life fell apart and she had to rebuild it all, which brought her to coaching.  She helps anyone who wants to move forward in a positive direction in their lives. She has a particular affinity for working with women over 40 who are dealing with big changes in their lives due to widowhood, divorce, or relationship issues, but also works with students and creatives.

In this episode we answer questions like:

              • What do boundaries mean to you?
              • How did you find your boundaries?
              • What are your boundaries for yourself?
              • How did you find your self-boundaries?
              • How do you know if your boundaries are being crossed in relationships?
              • How has knowing your boundaries impacted your life?
              • What is your tip with setting boundaries?
