This is the best picture I could find of Dee’s BSG board game card, which foreshadows her fate fairly accurately.
What do you think the title sequence will say, now that we’ve both found Earth and figured out who the Fifth Cylon is? This episode dodged the issue; keep your eyes peeled during next week’s opener.

This time on BSG, D’anna Biers forces Saul Tigh’s hand – so he reveals himself as a member of the Final Five. Inspired to work together, the Humans and Cylons FIND EARTH … so I guess the show’s over now?
In our analysis, Matt doesn’t understand Three’s escalations.
Pat admires Saul Tigh’s choice.
Mike knows there’s more to come, and that it’s all part of God’s plan.

We do still need a good explanation for how Saul Tigh has gone bald, though.

We’re all agreed it’s good the BSG crew brought Elosha back for this episode rather than Billy, despite the writers’ initial preference.
Faux-Athena’s existence raises so many ethical and philosophical questions that she really deserved better than dying off-screen. As to those questions, though, let’s start with “Are implanted memories authentic?”.

Listen, Gaeta. Just take the godsdamn drugs, alright? You don’t want to be awake for what’s coming.
This time on BSG, Lee takes Roslin takes Tory takes Gaius to task, and yeah, that’s as complicated as it sounds. But we’ve also got some straightforward drama, as Gaeta loses a leg, and Athena makes a huge mistake.
In our analysis, Mike outplans multiple Colonial military officers.
Matt encourages Roslin to take management courses.
Pat listens to Gaeta’s Lament.

I have so much to share with you about Gaeta’s Lament, it could almost be its own post. First, I’ve got the full song, with lyrics. Then, I’ve got Bear McCreary’s deep-dive on the song. And finally, I think you need to know that Gaeta himself, Alessandro Juliani, referred to Gaeta’s Lament as “The Stump Serenade.”
I apologize for my (Matt’s) terrible audio quality in this episode; I’m not entirely sure what happened. Which is disconcerting, as I need to figure out how to fix it …
We’ve talked about this one before, but this episode again raises the question of how ships don’t jump “into” things (specifically other ships, in this episode).

In our analysis, Pat’s willing to buy whatever religion Nana Visitor’s selling.
Matt sees shades of season three’s exposition-riddled episodes.
Mike is affected by the Sixes’ story and actions.

In case you want to know what the heck we’re talking about for the first couple minutes of this episode. The short version is, Ron Moore likes putting religion in his sci-fi.
And he also likes casting Nana Visitor. Deep Space Nine‘s worth a watch, if you haven’t.
The River Styx stuff makes a ton of sense, given that Gaius is trying to present himself as a blue collar man.
Here’s the Roslin and Adama song that makes Pat crumble and lose all objectivity.
Man, we are just full of Star Trek references this time, huh? Barolay, we hardly knew ye.

This time on BSG, Anders’s shit somehow takes a backseat to Kara’s shit, Tory makes a lot of choices, and Lee Adama takes President Roslin to task.
In our analysis, Pat wonders how many soldiers you can fit in a garbage truck.
Mike hopes to Gods that having a kid isn’t like this.
Matt’s BSG experience comes full-circle, as he watches Cally die for the second time.
Some observations and links of note:
It’s not exactly BSG-related, but Mike made me wonder whether Klingons do or don’t shower.
I wonder whether Kara’s having a constant out-of-body experience (spurred on by her, y’know, dying), or if whatever she’s going through is even stranger than that. Hopefully, we’ll get more details.
I went digging for more thoughts about Cally’s whole deal, and her relationship with the Chief specifically, because I feel she’s a character who could’ve been good but kept getting stuck in bad plots/situations. I found this, and I think it’s worth a read. The fact this episode is as heartbreaking as it is speaks to how much Cally deserved a godsdamn win.
Holy cow, that backhand, though. Geez, Tory.
