  • If You Only Knew...

In the days leading up to his death, Jesus experienced a lot of betrayal and hypocrisy from the crowds and his core disciples. Yet, despite the way they treated him, he continues to treat people with LOVE in the PRESENT who will hurt him the FUTURE. How does he do this? What can we learn about the disciples, Jesus and ourselves from this poignant period in Jesus' life? Join us Sunday as we explore how it could be possible that our failures and betrayals are fully known, yet we are still fully loved.

  • Melchizedek

“Solid food is for the mature.” That’s the analogy the author of Hebrews uses for the deeper things of God. And what was the specific “solid food” he had in mind? Answer: Melchizedek! Guess where we are in our study of Melchizedek?! For every follower of Jesus who enjoys a good T-bone steak, this Sunday is for you. We can’t wait to gather for worship, fellowship and to dine on some steak (or fish for pescatarians or even almonds & walnuts for our vegetarian family).

  • To the Fakers; To the Faithful

In this chapter, the author of Hebrews essentially goes on an extended rant - you know the one that your coach did at halftime when your team wasn't exactly playing up to your potential? Yeah - that's the one. Not only is it some of the most fiery language in Hebrews, it's some of the most controversial in the New Testament. But good news - it ends with more hope than we'd dream is possible. Join me on Sunday for a journey through Hebrews 6!

  • Our Great High Priest

One of the most beautiful verses in the Bible is Hebrews 4:16, “Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” All of us have needs. Sometimes we feel desperate. The solution is to draw near to Jesus. And the key to understanding how to draw near is seeing Jesus as our “great high priest.” You might be thinking, “What in the world does that mean?”

  • Deep Rest

One of the worst things is to struggle with sleep. 30 million Americans struggle with sleep apnea. Then there is insomnia and restless leg syndrome. These culprits rob us of the rest we need. About 25% of our sleep should be deep sleep but many are spending too much time in light sleep or awake.

That’s a picture of our spiritual life. God invites us into His rest. It’s a deep rest of His peace and presence even when life around us is uncertain, confusing and hard. Join us this Sunday as we continue our journey through Hebrews and discover how to enter His rest.

  • Hebrews 3

What do eternal security, general contractors, hard hearts and Moses have in common? They're all a big part of Hebrews 3. Confused? Then join us Sunday as we tell the backstory that brings all these threads together and challenges us to hold tightly to Jesus no matter what. See you Sunday!

  • Better Than Angels

It’s time. After 21 years of hesitation (I’ll share why this Sunday), it’s time to take a deep dive through the book of Hebrews. Last week Aaron gave us the overview. This week we begin by looking at the superiority of Jesus over angels. You will be challenged by the author’s use of seven Old Testament passages, a warning not to drift away from our great salvation, and most of all, by the majesty and glory of the Son of God. I encourage you to reflect on Hebrews 1:1-2:4 before this Sunday. Can’t wait to learn more about the superiority of Jesus Christ!

  • The Main Thing

Have you ever volunteered for something, only to realize you're in way over your head? If you're like me, you might feel that way about a 17 week series through the New Testament book of Hebrews - it's a lot to take in! But in this message, we'll be going to 30,000 feet and then back down to earth with a look at the Main Thing about Hebrews. By the end, I hope we're all a little more ready (and excited) to journey through Hebrews together.
