How much would you pay for that? Sometimes my wife and I will play a game where we both state what we THINK something should cost before we check the price tag - as you can guess, we're sometimes a bit surprised by what other people think is valuable! But this brings up a fundamental question: how DO we determine the value of something? It's all fun and games when you're talking about gadgets on Amazon, but it's life and death when that question is about human beings. Join me Sunday as we wade into the deep end, answering the question, What's a human being worth?
This Sunday, we're continuing our "Living Well: Life Principles for Flourishing" series by exploring two incredible stories from the Bible: the young boy who surrendered his simple lunch of five loaves and two fish, and the woman who broke a costly alabaster jar of perfume to anoint Jesus. Both stories reveal a profound truth about what God does with our gifts, whether they are small or extravagant. Join us as we discover how our own acts of giving are never insignificant and can be used by God to do things we never imagined!
Life often feels like we're caught in a storm. The waves of pain and hardship crash over us, and it's easy to feel like we're sinking. Many of us are paralyzed by fear, desperately trying to control the uncontrollable. But what if there's another way? What if it's possible to rise above the chaos and walk with courage, even during the storm? This Sunday, we'll explore the powerful story of Peter walking on water in Matthew 14 and discover a life principle that can transform everything. Join us as we learn how to not just survive, but flourish, no matter what waves life throws our way.
This Sunday, we're diving into a life that outshines them all. Move over "salt life", "boat life" and "travel life"; Jesus introduces us to something FAR greater: "branch life." From John 15:1-8, we'll explore a powerful principle that has transformed my walk with Him: branch life is a life at its best. If you're searching for a life that's truly fruitful and deeply connected, discover what it means to live in the vine. It's a game-gamer!
This Sunday, we're launching an exciting new sermon series based on the personal lessons God has etched into my heart over the years. I'm excited to share foundational "life principles" that have lead to a vibrant, flourishing walk with Jesus!
We begin this August with Life's Highest Priority from Psalm 63:1-8 – a principle I'm convinced is the most important for truly living well. Come discover how to flourish in every season, regardless of the challenges you might be facing. This is an excellent series to invite a friend!
We have all heard the old children’s rhyme dating back to 1830: “Stick and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.” Every generation since has had an obsession to recycle this little ditty and minimize the impact of other people’s words. The Boomers had the 70s rock band, The Who, sing this saying in a B-side song called “The Quiet One,” while Gen X-ers listened to Madonna’s repeat it in "Like It or Not.” Millennials bopped their heads to Katy Perry’s anthem “Part of Me” while Gen Z heard the hip hop artist, Juice WRLD, eerily tell them that “the drugs won’t hurt me” just one year before he died from a pill overdose. As we close our mini-series this Sunday on the Book of Proverbs, we’ll explore what God says about the impact of our words. I hope to see you there!
We’ve all made decisions we regret. But what if there’s a better way forward? This Sunday, we’re talking about how wisdom is trained, not automatic, and how the fear of the Lord is the foundation for making decisions that honor Him. Join us as we learn how to avoid the hard lessons and walk in the wisdom God freely offers.
Things nobody says ever: Our culture seems to have its priorities straight when it comes to valuing character over appearance! We all know we live in a beauty-obsessed world, where social media and comparison are wreaking havoc on our minds (young and old, men and women alike). But what does the Boble have to say? Is beauty bad? Is fitness wrong? Am I allowed to notice someone's appearance, or do I have to live with a blindfold on? We'll talk about all of this and more (including a photo of me in high school!).
Who you walk with shapes who you become. This Sunday, we’re kicking off our new series Table Talk by diving into Proverbs and discovering why wisdom is essential, where to find it, and why your influences matter more than you think. Join us as we explore how to walk with the wise and find wisdom that lasts.
It's hard to know where people are going to end up in 10 years - how many yearbooks actually "Most Likely to Succeed" correct? Not many, right? But as we close out our journey in Hebrews, it's as if the pastor identifies 3 key areas that his people need to focus in on if they're going to finish their race with a firm grip on their faith. If we want to see our lives headed in the right direction 1, 5, 10 or 20 years in the future, we should listen up to the pastor's final words in Hebrews.
