The fruit of goodness is not just "being a good person" in the eyes of the world. It's actually mirroring the goodness of God... shining light in places that are dark and in desperate need of GOD'S OWN goodness.Support the show

We've been doing a series for our Podcast on the Fruits of the Holy Spirit and this week I led the discussion on Be Patient! Yes, I know we all sigh at the same time whenever we hear the title Be Patient. We discussed 3 ideas behind finding patience: Pray, Pause, and Prepare. But this week as I have been spending a little extra time in prayer, I felt as though God was showing me how I need to practice "pausing" with Him. Sure, I pray to Him about changing me, read books and do Bible studies, but when He doesn't answer me the way I want or when I want do I pause? Do I practice being long-tempered with God? I am quite certain many times the answer is NO. But Isaiah 40:31 gives us great encouragement. Let us all practice the pause with our loving God and allow this fruit to grow us even closer! We have all laughed at some point either at ourselves or at others for praying for patience. Why in the world would we do that? Praying for Patience is like asking God to bring fire down upon you; can I get an amen? However, patience is without a doubt very important to God as he names is a Fruit of the Holy Spirit. So then, how do we perfect this part of our faith? How do we grow and nurture this fruit?Support the show

This week Monica is sharing about how maybe crucifying our flesh means more than killing our selfish desires and passions...maybe it also involves crucifying our expectations about how God will work, too.Support the show
