They say it's true that we end up repeating the cycle if we've experienced abuse from a young age. Would you agree?
Unfortunately for Bec, this statement is true. At just 13 years old Bec's vulnerability was taken away but due to a lack of education, self-worth, guidance and strong leadership Bec's worst nightmare became a reality early into her adult life.
Bec, now a fitness trainer and professional athlete in golf is determined to lead the way for women who've gone through similar experiences to her own. At just age 21, she is writing programs that will be included into schools that will help raise awareness for domestic and family violence, she is on a pathway to becoming Australia's best long driver in golf and there is no doubt in my mind she will continue to strive for excellence in every area of her life because of what she's been through.
It takes such courage to speak up and share these personal stories, they usually trigger the speaker because of the level and depth some of these women have gone through. So please, I always ask you listen with an open mind and an open heart as this becomes a part of their healing journey.
