Welcome to episode 48 of Bede Vs. The Living Dead.
Even though the Halloween season is behind us, your host Bede Jermyn still aims to keep bringing you listeners more great episodes around his journey into all things related to the original Night Of The Living Dead (1968) and especially everything that's connected to Dawn Of The Dead (1978). For this episode of the show, Bede once again goes back into the topic of random horror films that were retitled as *sequels* in the DOTD spin-off franchise Zombi. The next two films that Bede looks at were both retitled as Zombie 6 in other parts of the world, which are the 1981 Joe D'Amato directed Italian slasher Absurd and the 1981 American/Italian co-production Dawn Of The Mummy.
Joining Bede to discuss this next two unofficial Zombie 6 films is returning guests Marcus Wilturner (The Super Network) and Doug Tilley (Cinema Smorgasbord and No-Budget Nightmares). Highlights include wondering if its a bit of stretch to call Absurd a *zombie* film, is Willy the most annoying younger brother ever?, the hilarity of how Joe D'Amato tries to replicate American culture, who liked Dawn Of The Mummy more than the others?, Italian horror cinema's fascination with supermodels, the one character who stole the show and many more.

Welcome to the first episode of Bede & Steve Vs. Leatherface, where your hosts Bede Jermyn & Steven T. Boltz explore the films of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise.
After announcing it at the bonus wrap-up episode of their other podcast Bede & Steve Vs. Camp Crystal Lake, your hosts Bede and Steve had decided to take on another horror franchise after tackling the Friday The 13th series, which happens to be biggest of heavy hitters: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Your hosts are very excitied to dive into this franchise and the best place to start off with, is the original 1974 version of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre from co-writer/producer/director Tobe Hooper (Poltergeist, Salem's Lot '79).
Since it's release in 1974, the film has been considered as one of the greatest nadm ost influential horror films ever made (even in some cases, was voted as the number 1 horror films of all time in some major polls). This year, the film celebrates its 50th anniversary. So, it's only fitting that Bede & Steve dive into this momentous film with its impact and legacy on cinema.
Highlights in this episode include Bede & Steven discussing how they were introduced to the original The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Bede's one main issue with the title, the historical and social context of when the film was released, Tobe Hooper's inspirations for the film, wondering if Marilyn Burns gives the best "frightened" performance in all of cinema, does Franklin deserve his hate or is he mistunderstood?, the film's pop culture legacy and so much more.

Welcome to episode 46 of Bede Vs. The Living Dead.
After taking a detour on the past three episodes to look at other ares of Night Of The Living Dead media, your host Bede Jermyn heads back into topic that has been the main of most episodes this year: unrelated zombie films that were re-titled as entries in the Dawn Of The Dead spin-off franchise Zombi. For this episode, Bede dives into two films that were released as either Zombie 4 or 5: cult filmmaker Bruno Mattai's 1980 film Hell Of The Living Dead and the 1982 film Panic from Tonino Ricci.
Joining Bede to discuss this two films are returning guests are John Seavey (Half Price Horror), Kevin Nez (The MAC-NEZ Podcast, The E Socitey Podcast) and Paul Syvret. Highlights include wondering if Bruno Mattei has a message at the heart of Hell Of The Living Dead, the one section of the film that Bede isn't a fan of, how the film almost destroyed another podcast of Bede's, being disappointed by the dullness of Panic, praising the make-up work of its monster, how this film would have been better with a bleak endining and so much more.

Welcome to this special bonus episode of Bede & Steve Vs. Camp Crystal Lake.
Well, that's it. Your hosts Bede Jermyn and Steven T. Boltz have come to the end of the road when it comes to the official film side of things of Friday The 13th series. They have experienced both the highs and the lows while covering the films over the past 12 main episodes. To mark this occasion, Bede & Steve wanted to do something special.
For this bonus one after your hosts give their final overall thoughts on the series as a whole, they'll dissect them one last time by giving a series of 13 superlatives on certain aspects of the film like their top 3 favourite entries, their least favourite one, their favourite final girl, who didn't deserve to die?, who did deserve to die?, favourite Jason look and more. Also, your hosts have have an exciting announcement to make at the end of the episode.

Welcome to episode 45 of Bede Vs. The Living Dead.
Ever since host Bede Jermyn first started diving into the world of Night Of The Living Dead comics, one of the common things that he noticed is that most of them is that they were released by the company Avatar Press. They started producing multiple NOTLD comics starting around in 2005 until finishing up their licensing deal of the film in 2012. For this episode, Bede looks at the final NOTLD comic that they made: the 2012 twelve issue miniseries Night Of The Living Dead: Aftermath, which was written by David Hine and illustrated by German Erramouspe, Ernesto Chaparro & Tomas Aira
Joining Bede to discuss this comic series are returnbing guests Trevor Snyder (Failure To Franchise) and

Welcome to episode 12 of Bede & Steve Vs. Camp Crystal Lake.
After the massive success of crossover film Freddy Vs. Jason, New Line Cinema wanted to make a follow-up that would see the two horror titans Jason Voorhees & Freddy Kruger go up against Ash Williams from The Evil Dead series. Unfortunatley due to circumstances, it wasn't meant to be. However, the studio teamed up the F13's original studio Paramont Pictures to produced a remake of the franchise along with joining forces with filmmaker Michael Bay and his production company Platinum Dunes to make it since they had success with other remakes of horror classics like the 2003 version The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The end result being the 2009 remake of Friday The 13th, which was directed by TCM '03 helmer Marcus Nispel and written by Damian Shannon & Mark Swift of FVJ fame.
Joining your hosts Bede Jermyn & Steven T. Boltz this remake of the franchise is writer/teacher Tyson Wils (you can his website here). Highlights in this episode include TTyson discussing the first Friday The 13th film that he saw, Bede & Steve surprisingly agreeing on a F13 entry since Part II, how the film is more of a reboot than a remake, is Trent the most detestable character of the whole series, the whole "Jason is a pot farmer" controversy, how the film is linked to the Transformers film franchise and so much more.

Welcome to episode 44 of Bede Vs. The Living Dead.
After diving into the worlds of Dawn Of The Dead, the Zombi franchise and Night Of The Living Dead comics so far this year, there's one area that your host Bede Jermyn hasn't dive into in quite a while, which are re-edits of NOTLD. For this episode of the podcast, Bede takes a look at two such re-edits of the 1968 classic: the 1995 TV show Attack Of The 'B's' 11th episode Zombie Attack! and the 2024 rescored/re-coloured version from Synthwave Horror (you can watch both Tubi here and here).
Joining Bede to discuss these NOTLD re-edits is first-time guest critic/filmmaker/host Ron Purtee a.k.a. Uncle Ron (you can watch his YouTube channel here). Highlights include Ron discussing the firs time he saw the original Night Of The Living Dead, how Attack Of The Killer 'B's' edits down NOTLD into a 22 minute episode, does the episode suffer becuase of the removal of the film's important story elements?, wondering if Synthwave Horror's score on their version fits the film's tone, the bizarre use of a green filter over it and so much more.
