Welcome to episode 34 of Bede Vs. The Living Dead. The podcast where your host Bede Jermyn explores the remakes, re-edits, reimaginings, homages, unofficial follow-ups and more to George A. Romero’s 1968 classic Night Of The Living Dead across all media.
Before he expores more of the zombie film movement that was linked to both Dawn Of The Dead (1978) and Lucio Fulci's unofficial sequel to it Zombie (1979) after they were released, your host Bede heads back into the world of NOTLD comics by checking out two related one-shot graphic novels that were co-written by the original film's co-creator John A. Russo: the 2008 comic Night Of The Living Annual and the Night Of The Living Dead: New York comic from 2009.
Joining Bede to discuss these two NOTLD graphic novels are returning guests Trevor Snyder (co-host of the podcast Failure To Franchise) and Brandon Starroci (co-creator/writer of the zombie comic book series Avalon). Highlights include what both these graphic novels add to the world of the NOTLD, praising the expansion of the newscaster character from the original film in Night Of The Living Dead Annual, wonder if both comics were a little too violent and salacious for NOTLD, how John A. Russo's exploitation style is different from George A. Romero's apporach, wonder if Night Of The Living Dead: New York is a little too mean spirited, are both these comics worth for fans of NOTLD and so much more.

Welcome to episode 7 of Bede & Steve Vs. Camp Crystal Lake. The official spin-off podcast to Bede Vs. The Living Dead, where your hosts Bede Jermyn & Steven T. Boltz explore the classic slasher franchise Friday The 13th, along with its rip-offs, fan films, unproduced scripts, TV shows, comic books and so much more.
After both box office and surprising critical success of the sixth entry Jason Lives, it showed that there was still life left in the Friday The 13th series. Now that the "Tommy Jarvis" saga of the franchise is done and dusted, it was time to take Jason's adventures in a new and unexpected direction. For this episode, your hosts Bede & Steve take a look at the seventh instalment Friday The 13th Part VII: The New Blood, which was directed by special make-up effects artist-turned-filmmaker John Carl Buechler (Troll, Ghoulies III: Ghoulies Go To College).
Joining your hosts to discuss this seventh entry are first-time guests Andrew Shaw and filmmaker Paul Anthony Nelson (director of the films Trench and Appartions, which you can check out here). Highlights in this episode include Andrew & Paul discussing their introductions to the Friday The 13th series, which legendary filmmaker did the producers want to direct this one?, what did we think of Kane Hodder's first time out as Jason, how the MPAA cut this sequel to shreds, what the superpowered main character of Tina brings to the series, appreciating Susan Jennifer Sullivan's turn as Melissa and so much more.

Hey, everyone! Welcome to episode 33 of Bede Vs. The Living Dead. The podcast where your host Bede Jermyn explores the remakes, re-edits, reimaginings, homages, unofficial follow-ups and more to George A. Romero’s 1968 classic Night Of The Living Dead across all media.
While Night Of The Living Dead (1968) may have been the film that kick started the modern zombie film as we know it, it's no question that its sequel Dawn Of The Dead (1978) popularise the sub-genre even more so. Especially when Romero's friend Dario Argento re-edited and re-titled the film into Zombi for the European market. After the success of this version in Italy, an un-official sequel was greenlit in the country since Italy's copyright law allows any film to be marketed as a sequel to another film. For this episode, Bede takes a look at the end-result with the 1979 cult horror classic Zombie (a.k.a. Zombi 2 and Zombie Flesh Eaters), which was directed by the legendary "Godfather of Gore" Lucio Fulci (The Beyond, City Of The Living Dead).
Joining Bede to discuss this classic piece of Italian horror are returning guests Kevin Nez (co-host of The MAC-NEZ Podcast, The E Socitey Podcast), John Seavey (host of the podcast Half Price Horror) and first-time guest Sam Inglis (co-host of the podcast Fearless Pretender: The Jennifer Jason Leigh Podcast). Highlights include Sam telling us about the first time he saw the original Night Of The Living Dead and his controversal take on Dawn Of The Dead, how Zombie kick started the Italian zombie craze, praise the film's make-up and gore, the insanity of the zombie vs. shark fight, the effectiveness of the film's most infamous scene, a discussion on how this film became 'video nasty' in the U.K. and so much more.

Welcome to this bonus episode of Bede & Steve Vs.
When it comes to many horror franchises out there, it's pretty safe to say without a single shred of doubt that Friday The 13th has more fan films than any other that are there. In fact there's more out there than the actual official entries in the series. Given how beloved F13 is, it's hard not to understand why. For this episode of the show, your hosts Bede & Steve finally dive into the F13 fan film side of the franchise by looking at two films that are actually a duology: the 2019 film Friday The 13th: Vengeance and its 2022 sequel Friday The 13th: Vengeance 2 - Bloodlines, which stars Part 6 Jason actor C.J. Graham in the role of Jason's father Elias Voorhees and other figures from the main series.

Hey, everyone! Welcome to episode 32 of Bede Vs. The Living Dead. The podcast where your host Bede Jermyn explores the remakes, re-edits, reimaginings, homages, unofficial follow-ups and more to George A. Romero’s 1968 classic Night Of The Living Dead across all media.
All the way back on the second episode of the show, your host Bede looked the first official remake of Night Of The Living Dead with the 1990 version that was directed Tom Savini and written by George A. Romero himself. Now it is time for Bede to dive into another remake of one of Romero's Dead films by looking at a film that just happens is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year: the 2004 version of Dawn Of The Dead, which was directed by Zack Snyder (Watchmen, Man Of Steel, Army Of The Dead) and written by James Gunn (Guardians Of The Galaxy, Slither, Tromeo & Juliet).
Joining Bede to discuss this surprisingly successful remake are returning guests Super Marcey (The Super Network, After Dark With Super Marcey), Derek Smith and Roger Conners (co-host of Dark Night Of The Podcast and the writer/director/star of the 2021 indie Night Of The Living Dead remake Rebirth), which Bede covered on the podcast previously). Highlights include discussing how Zack Snyder & James Gunn make this remake of Dawn Of The Dead their own, wondering if this film has one of the greatest openings in horror history, praising the film's character arcs, Bede explaining how this the best action horror film since Aliens, debating whether the characters survived at the end and so much moreSocial Media Links:

Hey, everyone! Welcome to a special bonus episode of Bede Vs. The Living Dead. The podcast where your host Bede Jermyn explores the remakes, re-edits, reimaginings, homages, unofficial follow-ups and more to George A. Romero’s 1968 classic Night Of The Living Dead across all media.
On the most recent bonus episode of the podcast, Bede covered the cult classic Troma distributed 1989 horror comedy Redneck Zombies with my special guest for that one Derek Smith. Since he had a great time discussing that film for the show, Bede wanted to do a fun follow-up to it. So, with the help of previous guest on the show, Bede was given a opportunity to sit down and chat to a few people who were involved with the film. For special bonus interview episode of the podcast, Bede talked to Redneck Zombies' co-writer/director Pericles Lewnes & co-writer Ed Bishop and author Kristopher Rufty, who is co-writing the upcoming novelization of the film with Bishop. Bede and his guests dive into every aspect of both the film and novelization in this episode, so if you're a fan of Redneck Zombies, you don't want to miss this one. Enjoy!

Welcome to this bonus episode of Bede Vs. The Living Dead. Unlike the main episodes of the show that only focus on all things related and linked to Night Of The Living Dead, these bonus ones will have your host Bede Jermyn explore other random zombie films (from both the famous to the obscure) that were made in the aftermath of George A. Romero's 1968 classic masterpiece.
For this one of the podcast, Bede is joined by return guest Derek Smith to discuss a zombie film that is so polarising that depending on who you ask, it is either one of the best or the worst zombie films of all time. That, of course, is the 1989 shot-on-video indie horror/comedy Redneck Zombies, which was directed by Pericles Lewnes and was distributed by cult favourite production company Troma Entertainment (The Toxic Avenger, Class Of Nuke 'Em High). Where do both Bede and his guest Derek fall on the spectrum when it comes to this disvisive reaction to this film? Listen and find out!

Welcome to episode 6 of Bede & Steve Vs.
After the negative reaction that it recieved from both critics and fans of the series, Friday The 13th Part V: A New Beginning wasn't quite the restart that it ended up being. Plus, it didn't help that audiences felt cheated that the main villain Jason Voorhees wasn't even in it. The makers behind the franchise decided to go to the drawing board with the next instalment by bringing Jason back from the dead. For this one, your hosts Bede & Steve at that entry: Friday The 13th Part VI: Jason Lives, which was written & directed Tom McLoughlin (One Dark Night, Sometimes They Come Back).
Joining your hosts to discuss this very popular sixth instalment are returning guests Pete Iacono (host of A Dingo Ate My Movie), Warren Money (co-host of s#1tcast) and first time guest on the show John Seavey (host of Half Price Horror). Highlights in this episode include John telling the hosts his unique introduction to the Friday The 13th franchise, Warren explains why this sequel has a personal connection to him, Steve's major problems with the film, which character everyone thought had the worst death in the entire series, what Tom McLoughlin's fresh approach brings to the franhise, Thom Matthews' take on Tommy Jarvis and so much more.

Hey, everyone! Welcome to episode 31 of Bede Vs. The Living Dead. The podcast where your host Bede Jermyn explores the remakes, re-edits, reimaginings, homages, unofficial follow-ups and more to George A. Romero’s 1968 classic Night Of The Living Dead across all media.
After taking a detour with our milestone 30th episode to take a look at comic boo miniseries centred around Night Of The Living Dead (even if it was in-name only), your host Bede heads back into the world of the 1978 sequel Dawn Of The Dead. Even though he already looked at the threatrical version of the film a few episodes back, Bede will be diving into two well different cuts of the DOTD for this edition of the podcast: The Cannes Extended Cut and Dario Argento's European recut Zombi (this version of the film has its own seperate film franchise that will be explored in future episodes over the next few months).
Joining Bede to discuss these two different cuts are returning guests filmmakers Jake C. Young & Kenny Scott Guffey (the directors of A Night Of The Undead, which was the subject of episode 17) and first-time guest Warren Money (co-host of s#1tcast). Highlights in this one include Jake, Kenny & Warren sharing their thoughts on Dawn Of The Dead (1978), which of the two cuts did everyone prefer?, how the choices in the Zombi recut change the mood of the film, a deleated scene that's in both versions that Bede wishes was in the theatrical cut and so much more.
