Welcome to this mini-bonus episode of Bede & Steve Vs. Camp Crystal Lake. The official spin-off podcast to Bede Vs. The Living Dead, where your hosts Bede Jermyn & Steven T. Boltz explore the classic slasher franchise Friday The 13th, along with its rip-offs, fan films, unproduced scripts, TV shows, comic books and so much more.
It's been a little while since there has been Crystal Lake Conspiracies mini-episode of the podcast, so Bede & Steve decided to bring it back and do they have a doozy of a one for you all. After tackled Friday The 13th Part V: A New Beginning on the most recent main episode of the show, your hosts take a look a conspiracy theory that's centred around that entry in the series: could Part V's copycat Jason Voorhees killer Roy *actually* be the father of Jason himself? It's interesting one that's for sure. But is there any legitimacy to it? Listen to find out!

Welcome to episode 30 of Bede Vs. The Living Dead. The podcast where your host Bede Jermyn explores the remakes, re-edits, reimaginings, homages, unofficial follow-ups and more to George A. Romero’s 1968 classic Night Of The Living Dead across all media.
That's right, everyone. We've arrived at the milestone 30th episode of the podcast. It’s hard to believe that your host Bede has so far recorded that many main episodes of the podcast so far (excluding the episodes spin-off show Bede & Steve Vs. Camp Crystal Lake and our bonus ones). Originally to mark this occasion, this episode was originally going to be both the Cannes Film Festival extended cut and Dario Argento's Zombie recut of the classic 1978 film Dawn Of The Dead but unfortunately due scheduling conflicts, the episode had to be pushed back to a later date. However for this one, Bede goes back to the well of NOTLD comics by taking a deep dive into the in-name only 1994 comic miniseries Night Of The Living Dead, which was written by Noel Hannan & illustrated by Rik Rawlling.
Joining Bede to discuss this four issue comic book series is returning guest Trevor Snyder, co-host of the podcast Failure To Franchise. Highlights in this one include Bede & Trevor wondering if this was seperate zomic book series that was slapped with the Night Of The Living Dead title, how issue 0 sets up the tone of the series, appreciating the comic’s insane aspects, the reasons why issue 3 was a favourite to both Bede & Trevor, wonder if the issue 3's more serious tone compares to the comedic previous issues, enjoying the very '90s artwork and so much more. Plus, Bede brings back a segment he hasn't done in a while The Living Dead Unreleased, which is a quick discussion on a version of NOTLD that either hasn't been released yet or has never been made. For this one, Bede & Trevor discuss the status of a unofficial sequel that been that still hasn't been released yet: Night Of The Living Dead II starring cast members from Day Of The Dead (1985).

Welcome to this bonus episode of Bede Vs. The Living Dead. Unlike the main episodes of the show that only focus on all things related and linked to Night Of The Living Dead, these bonus ones will have your host Bede Jermyn explore other random zombie films (from both the famous to the obscure) that were made in the aftermath of George A. Romero's 1968 classic masterpiece.
Regardless of it being the film that started the modern zombie genre, Night Of The Living Dead is still considered without one of the greatest, if not still *the* greatest, zombie films ever made. Since so many other similar films have been released from the zombie sub-genre over the past 56 years, there's no question that there would be bound to some clunkers in there. But the question is, what is truly the worst one of the bunch?
For this bonus episode of the podcast, Bede is joined by regular guest Marcus Wilturner (writer/contributor for The Super Network) to discuss a horror film that considered by many as *the* single worst zombie ever made: the 2003 film House Of The Dead, the big screen adapation of the classic Sega video first-shooter game series The House Of The Dead that was directed by infamous filmmaker Uwe Boll (Alone In The Dark, BloodRayne, Postal). Is this film as terrible as its reputation has proclaimed? Or is it not as bad as it has been made out to be? Listen to find out!

Welcome to episode 5 of Bede & Steve Vs.
As we have seen with many franchises, any entry that has the subtitle of The Final Chapter, you can absolutely guarantee that it definitely won't be. Friday The 13th was definitely no exception. After the success of the fouth entry, Paramount Studios decided to continue the series and take it into a new direction without its main antagonist Jason Voorhees. The end result is the film that your hosts Bede & Steven diving into this episode: the infamous 1985 entry Friday The 13th Part V: A New Beginning, which was co-written & directed by exploitation filmmaker Danny Steinmann (The Unseen, Savage Streets).
Joining your hosts to discuss this polarising fifth instalment are first-time guests filmmaker Addison Heath (co-director of the films The Viper's Hex and My Cherry Pie), Kevin Nez (co-host of The MAC-NEZ Podcast, The E Socitey Podcast) and Lindsay Wilkins (the host of Schlock & Awe). Highlights in this episode include both Addison, Nez & Lindsay telling the hosts how they were introduced to the Friday The 13th franchise, debate whether Part V is better than the negative reputation has recieved, Steve explains why he hates this film with a passion, appreciating how sleazy and exploitative this entry is, the curious case of the villain Roy, discussing John Sheperd's performance as Tommy Jarvis and so much more.

Hey, everyone! Welcome to episode 29 of Bede Vs. The Living Dead. The podcast where your host Bede Jermyn explores the remakes, re-edits, reimaginings, homages, unofficial follow-ups and more to George A. Romero’s 1968 classic Night Of The Living Dead across all media.
Here we are, everyone. The long-awaited new episode of the podcast, that's also the first for 2024. Your host Bede has a lot of awesome stuff on the agenda for the show this year. While he'll still be covering all thingsNight Of The Living Dead throughout the year (especially in comic book form), Bede is also going into a different direction by exploring every aspect of George A. Romero's official sequel to his horror masterpiece: the equally classic 1978 film Dawn Of The Dead. Just like NOTLD, it's also considered one of the greatest horror films ever made.
Joining Bede to discuss this amazing sequel to Night Of The Living Dead are three guests who are all making their returns to show: Super Marcey (co-host on the many podcasts on The Super Network with Bede and host of After Dark With Super Marcey),
Note: This episode of the show is dedicated to Dawn Of The Dead (1978) star David Emge, who sadly passed away around the time this episode was recorded. Rest in peace, Flyboy.

Welcome to episode 4 of Bede & Steve Vs.
Even though Friday The 13th Part III 3D was intended to be a possible finale for the F13 franchise but after it became the highest-grossing entry in the series at the time (it would hold onto that record until the release of Freddy Vs. Jason in 2003), a fourth entry was automatically put into production. However since the slasher genre was starting its decline around the mid-80s, it was decided to make this the definitve end to series (or so they thought). For this episode, your hosts Bede & Steve take a look at 1984 fourth entry Friday The 13th: The Final Chapter, which was directed by Joseph Zito (The Prowler) and written by Barney Cohen from a story by Bruce Hidemi Sakow.
Joining your hosts to discuss this popular fouth instalment are first-time guests Super Marcey (co-host on the many podcasts on The Super Network with Bede, Steve's co-host on The King Zone's Book Club Podcast and host of After Dark With Super Marcey) and Pete Iacono (host of the Australian film podcast A Dingo Ate My Movie). Highlights in this episode include both Marcey & Pete telling the hosts how they were introduced to the Friday The 13th franchise, debate how the character of Rob was used in the film, praising Joseph Zito's atmospheric style, Tom Savini's amazing gore effects, Crispin Glover's legendary dance scene, why Jason actor Ted White hated Corey Feldman with a passion and so much more.

Unlike the other bonus episodes that will be releasing as part of the podcast, your hosts Bede & Steve are going to be doing somw fun special mini-ones that they are calling Crystal Lake Conspiracies, where they discuss some interesting fan theories surrounding the Friday The 13th franchise. For this one, Bede & Steve dive into one that was offered by Steve's real-life younger brother: Did Jason come back to life because Mrs. Voorhees possessed his body? It's quite a theory to start off with but does it have any merit? Listen to find out!

Welcome to this bonus episode of Bede & Steve Vs.
After tackling the first three official entries of the Friday The 13th series in the previous main episodes of the podcast, your hosts Bede & Steve think it is time to take a look at other interesting areas of the franchise outside of the main series. For this first bonus episode of the show, Bede & Steve dive into the obscure foreign rip-off remakes of the original Friday The 13th (1980) with the 1981 indonesian horror film Srigala (which was recenlty restored and released on BluRay via TerrorVision) and the 1987 Indian horror/musical 7 Saal Baad. How do these two foreign rip-offs do their own spin on the 1980 horror classic? Listen and find out!

Hey, everyone! Welcome to episode 28 of Bede Vs. The Living Dead. The podcast where your host Bede Jermyn explores the remakes, re-edits, reimaginings, homages, unofficial follow-ups and more to George A. Romero’s 1968 classic Night Of The Living Dead across all media.
Well, it has arrived. 2023 is almost over. It's been a massive year for the podcast. While there have been quite a number of highs and lows with the many of the Night Of The Living Dead related projects that have been discussed on the show these past 12 months, it has been nothing but an absolute thrill for your Bede. Before signing off on 2023, Bede is exploring another area of NOTLD media that he hasn't tackled yet until now: comic books. For this final episode for 2023, Bede will be looking the 1993 two-issue comic miniseries Night Of The Living Dead: London from legendary author Clive Barker (Hellraiser, Nightbreed), Steve Niles (30 Days Of Night) & Carlos Kastro and the 2004 three-issue comic miniseries Night Of The Living Dead: Barbara's Zombie Chronicles by Mark Kidwell & Joel Moen.
Joining Bede to discuss these comic book expansions of NOTLD is returning guest Beatrix Harper (who hasn't been on the show since episode 6) and first-time guest Trevor Snyder, co-host of the podcast Failure To Franchise. Unfortunately due to some curcumstances, Bea was only able to join for the first half of the show. Highlights in this one include the first time that Trevor saw NOTLD and how it became his all-time favourite film, how Clive Barker & Steve Niles put their stamp on the NOTLD world with Night Of The Living Dead: London, praise Carlos Kastro's haunting artwork of the comic, the complexity of the main protagonist Archbishop Hallam, the mixed feelings of Barbara's characterization in Night Of The Living Dead: Barbara's Zombie Chronicles, the exploitation elements of the story, the insane final twist that you won't see coming and so much more. Plus at the end of the episode, Bede goes into what exciting stuff he has planned for the podcast in 2024.

Hey, everyone! Welcome to episode 27 of Bede Vs. The Living Dead. The podcast where your host Bede Jermyn explores the remakes, re-edits, reimaginings, homages, unofficial follow-ups and more to George A. Romero’s 1968 classic Night Of The Living Dead across all media.
After tackling the 1988 horror film FleshEater from Bill Hinzman in the previous episode of the podcast, your host Bede decided to go down the rabbit hole a little bit more to other homages to Night Of The Living Dead. For this episode, Bede takes a look at a film that not only uses NOTLD as one of the main inspirations, it also homages the golden age of Hollywood, '50s/'60s cinema, film noir and other horror films as well: the 2014 independent horror film The Day Of The Living Dead from writer/director/co-star Thomas J. Churchill (Amityville Uprising, The Amityville Harvest).
Joining Bede to discuss this unique Night Of The Living Dead homage to Night Of The Living Dead is returning guest Marcus Wilturner (writer/contributor for The Super Network, who makes his 8th appearance on the show). Highlights in this one include Bede & Marcus explaining why this film didn't work for them despite its ambition, appreciating how Thomas J. Churchill captures the film's 50s aesthetic, being frustrated by how some plot threads were handled, the bizarre creative filmmaking choices, giving props to the impressive make-up and gore, how the film's Hollywood references were a little too much and so much more.
