Hey, everyone! Welcome to a special bonus episode of Bede Vs. The Living Dead. The podcast where your host Bede Jermyn explores the remakes, re-edits, reimaginings, homages, unofficial follow-ups and more to George A. Romero’s 1968 classic Night Of The Living Dead across all media.
Since this year marks the 55th anniversary of Night Of The Living Dead, your host Bede wanted to do something special to commemorate the film's milestone. Bede decided that throughout the month of October in-between the main episodes of the podcast, there will also be some bonus episodes that will be released. What will the subject of these bonus episodes be? Well, they're going to be interviews with some of the filmmakers behind some of the independent remakes and re-imaginings of NOTLD. Since he has discussed a lot if them in previous episodes, Bede thought it would be interesting to talk to these filmmakers, discuss their process about putting their stamp on the original film and what inspired them to want to do their own take on the story. For this second one, Bede chatted to both Jake C. Young & Kenny Scott Guffey, the directors behind the 2022 indie NOTLD quasi-sequel Night Of The Undead (which was discussed on episode 17 of the podcast). Enjoy!
You can watch A Night Of The Undead (2022) via Tubi, Vudu and Plex or buy the BluRay on Amazon.

Welcome to episode 22 of Bede Vs. The Living Dead. The podcast where your host Bede Jermyn explores the remakes, re-edits, reimaginings, homages, unofficial follow-ups and more to George A. Romero’s 1968 classic Night Of The Living Dead across all media.
We're now officially in October, which means that the Halloween season has begun. As exciting as that is, this month has another important significance. On this very day 55 years ago, Night Of The Living Dead was unleashed onto unsuspecting audiences in cinemas. Not only was it a success despite its then negative reception, it would go on to create a brand new sub-genre of horror and changed the landscape of cinema as we know it. Today it's now considered one of the greatest films of all time horror or otherwise. To celebrate the 55th anniversary of the film, your host Bede Jermyn has will be going all out for this month of the show. Not only with this and the two other main episodes being released, there will be also bonus ones dropping each week as well. For this very first episode in honour of both NOTLD's anniversary and the beginning of the Halloween season, Bede will be looking at the cult classic 1985 in-name only film adaptation of John A. Russo's 1978 NOTLD sequel novel: The Return Of The Living Dead, which was the directorial debut of Dan O'Bannon (the screenwriter of Alien, Lifeforce and Total Recall).
Joining Bede to discuss this beloved '80s horror classic are returning guests Steven T. Boltz (co-owner of The Knack Theatre, co-host of The King Zone's Book Club Podcast, contributor to Forces Of Geek) and John Seavey (host of the podcast Half Price Horror). Highlights in this one include the first time everyone saw The Return Of The Living Dead, how the zombies in the film are different from the ones in Night Of The Living Dead, the differences between both the film and the original novel, praising the performances of the cast, the film's social commentary, John sharing a interesting detail about the film that Bede & Steven didn't notice before and so much more. Plus, Bede & Steven share an exciting announcement of a new project that they are working on.

Hey, everyone! Welcome to episode 21 of Bede Vs. The Living Dead. The podcast where your host Bede Jermyn explores the remakes, re-edits, reimaginings, homages, unofficial follow-ups and more to George A. Romero’s 1968 classic Night Of The Living Dead across all media.
Now that we've passed the milestone 20th episode of the podcast, your host Bede continues his journey exploring every iteration of Night Of The Living Dead that has been made so far. After tackingly the TV side of NOTLD in the past two episodes, Bede heads back into the world of literature by taking a look at NOTLD co-writer John A. Russo's 1978 sequel novel: Return Of The Living Dead, which was adapted, if mostly in name-only, into the 1985 cult classic horror/comedy of the same name.
Joining Bede to discuss this novel sequel to Night Of The Living Dead is writer/podcaster Stephanie Crawford. Highlights in this one include Stephanie telling Bede about the first time she saw the original NOTLD, what Bede & Stephanie thought of reading the Return Of The Living Dead novel for the first time, how different the novel is from its 1985 film adaptation, how John A. Russo continues the story 10 years after the events of NOTLD, which moments in the novel did Bede & Stephanie find the most effective, wonder if Russo's descriptions of certain zombie attacks is a little too much and so much more.

Hey, everyone! Welcome to episode 20 of Bede Vs. The Living Dead. The podcast where your host Bede Jermyn explores the remakes, re-edits, reimaginings, homages, unofficial follow-ups and more to George A. Romero’s 1968 classic Night Of The Living Dead across all media.
Well, we're finally here, everyone. The milstone 20th episode of the podcast. It has been quite a journey covering so many versions of Night Of The Living Dead across theses past 20 episodes and your host Bede has plenty more coming up in the future. On previous episode of the show, Bede covered two NOTLD themed episodes from the TV shows Medium (2005-2011) and Cinema Toast (2021). For this one, he's going back to the world of TV to look at two more episodes that are centred around NOTLD, which both just happened to be from the same TV show: Shudder's highly acclaimed horror anthology Creepshow (2019-present). Those ones being the season 2 finale Night Of The Living Late Show and the second half of the season 3 finale A Dead Girl Named Sue, the latter episode being an adaptation of Craig Engler's short story from the novel Nights Of The Living Dead: An Anthology (which Bede covered in-full back on episode 13).
Joining Bede to discuss of these two episodes of Creepshow, is a first time guest comic writer and Pod Of The Damned co-host Andrew Shaw. Highlights in this one include Andrew's first experience with the original Night Of The Living Dead for the first time, Bede & Andrew's thoughts of finally watching Creepshow TV show, how NOTLD surprisingly only plays a small part of the episode Night Of The Living Late Show, Bede & Andrew wondering if they would use Justin Long's invention to transport themselves be in a movie, how faithful of an adaptation A Dead Girl Named Sue is to the original short story, praise the NOTLD style visual aesthetic of the episode and so much more.

Hey, everyone! Welcome to episode 19 of Bede Vs. The Living Dead. The podcast where your host Bede Jermyn explores the remakes, re-edits, reimaginings, homages, unofficial follow-ups and more to George A. Romero’s 1968 classic Night Of The Living Dead across all media.
As we are now one episode away from reaching the milestone episode 20 of the podcast, there's one aspect of media that we haven't explored yet when it comes to Night Of The Living Dead: television. You wouldn't think that the original film could work as part of a TV series, but two seperate TV shows managed to incorperate NOTLD in one of their episodes in a very unique way. For this 19th edition of the podcast, your host Bede takes a look at the NOTLD themed episodes of the Emmy-winning supernatural drama Medium (2005-2011) with its season 6 episode Bite Me and the season 1 episode Attack Of The Karens from the experimental comedy show Cinema Toast (2021).
Joining Bede to to discuss of these two episodes of TV, is a returning guest who is making her 3rd appearance on the show; Lindsay Wilkins, the host of the double feature podcast Schlock & Awe. Highlights in this one include Lindsay's thoughts on watching both shows for the first time, how Medium's episode Bite Me incorperates footage from Night Of The Living Dead (1968) into its plot, Bede & Lindsay wondering if Bite Me is more of a homage to A Nightmare On Elm Street than NOTLD, diving into the episode's most insane aspects, how Cinema Toast's episode Attack Of The Karens uses NOTLD and other public domain films to build its story, discuss whether the episode was a better re-dubbing of NOTLD than both Night Of The Day Of The Dawn... (1991) and Night Of The British Dead (2022), the subtext and themes that it explores and so much more.

Hey, everyone! Welcome to episode 18 of Bede Vs. The Living Dead. The podcast where your host Bede Jermyn explores the remakes, re-edits, reimaginings, homages, unofficial follow-ups and more to George A. Romero’s 1968 classic Night Of The Living Dead across all media.
We're almost there, listeners. The podcast is just two episodes away from reaching its milestone 20th show. We're covered quite of different variations of Night Of The Living Dead across all aspects of media. Not only just films, but also books, radio dramas and stage productions. Now is time to look at an all singin', all dancin' version of the story with the 2019 off-Broadway show Night Of The Living Dead: The Musical! from Jordan Wolfe, who wrote the book, music & lyrics and even stars in it. Unfortunately, a video version of a production hasn't been released as of yet, so your host Bede has done the next best thing by diving into the musical's original concept recording album instead.
Joining Bede to discuss this lively musical adaptation of Night Of The Living Dead, is first-time guest audiobook narrator and managing editor of the publishing company Encyclopocalypse: Sean Duregger. Highlights in this one include Sean talking about the first time he saw the original NOTLD, Bede & Sean discussing how Night Of The Living: The Musical! compares to other musicals based on horror films, which were their favourite songs from the soundtrack, wonder why the musical hasn't been promoted enough, how Sean went from being a podcaster to being an audiobook narrator, how he got involved in working with Encyclopocalypse and so much more.

As we inch closer and closer to the next big milestone of the show with episode 20, it's a good time to head back into the realm of micro-budget independent takes on NOTLD with two films that have come out recently. For this 17th episode of thepodcast, your host Bede delves into writer/director/star Connor Noble's 2021 remake of Night Of The Living Dead and the 2022 quasi-sequel A Night Of The Undead from filmmakers Jake C. Young & Kenny Scott Guffey.
Joining Bede to discuss these two indie Night Of The Living Dead productions are both returning guest Marcus Wilturner (writer/contributor for The Super Network, who makes his 5th appearance on the show) and first-time guest Brandon Starroci (co-creator/writer of the zombie comic book series Avalon). Highlights in this one include Brandon telling us about the first time he saw the original NOTLD, which one of the two films made Marcus unintentionally laugh so much, the changes and added elements that Connor Noble brought to Night Of The Living Dead (2021), how the 2021 version developes Judy more as a character, appreciating the unique themes of A Night Of The Undead, the mixed-feelings we had about the film's third act and so much more.

Hey, everyone! Welcome to episode 16 of Bede Vs. The Living Dead. The podcast where your host Bede Jermyn explores the remakes, re-edits, reimaginings, homages, unofficial follow-ups and more to George A. Romero’s 1968 classic Night Of The Living Dead across all media.
If you remember all the way back on episode 3 of the show, Bede delved into both a short film homage and comedic redubbing of the Night Of The Living Dead, which were the 1990 short Night Of The Living Bread and the 1991 film Night Of The Day Of The Dawn Of The Son Of The Bride Of The Return Of The Revenge Of The Terror Of The Attack Of The Evil, Mutant, Alien, Flesh Eating, Hellbound, Zombified Living Dead Part 2 In Shocking 2-D. During that episode, Bede mentioned that there was another short film and comedic redubbing out there, and that he would tackle them on a future episode of the podcast. Well, as promised, that very epsiode has finally arrived. For this one, Bede will be be looking at the 2018 short film Dead Neighbors and Night Of The British Dead, a 2021 British comedic redubbing of the original NOTLD from The Ridiculous Film Company.
Joining Bede to to discuss of these two films, is a returning guest who actually was on episode 3 to chat about the previous short film and comedic redubbing that the show tackled: Lindsay Wilkins, the host of the double feature podcast Schlock & Awe. Highlights in this one include Bede & Lindsay discussing now Dead Neighbors is a loving tribute to George A. Romero, how the short explores childhood fears and how they inspired us, the cameo from an original cast member of NOTLD, how does Night Of The British Dead compare as a redubbing to Night Of The Day Of The Dawn..., the jokes that made us laugh, wonder the point of redubbing a film if most of the dialogue is from the original film and so much more.

Hey, everyone! Welcome to episode 15 of Bede Vs. The Living Dead. The podcast where your host Bede Jermyn explores the remakes, re-edits, reimaginings, homages, unofficial follow-ups and more to George A. Romero’s 1968 classic Night Of The Living Dead across all media.
Well, we have arrived at the 15th episode, and this is one that your host Bede has been most excitied for. Why is that you ask? Because the film that is the topic for this episode is *the* very same one that inspired Bede to create this podcast and go down the rabbit hole on all the many different versions of Night Of The Living Dead. That film in question being the third animated NOTLD remake: the 2021 film Night Of The Animated Dead, which was directed by Jason Axinn (To Your Last Death) and featuring an all-star voice cast.
Joining Bede to discuss this third animated take of Night Of The Living Dead are both returning guest Marcus Wilturner (writer/contributor for The Super Network) and first-time guest Kevin Nez (co-host of the podcasts The MAC-NEZ Podcast, The E Socitey Podcast, The Action Returns, THR Presents: Stream Fiends and The Wrestling Returns). Highlights in this one include Nez telling us when he first saw the original NOTLD, the time when Nez met George A. Romero himself, discuss whether this animated remake needed to take a shot-for-shot approach, what we thought of the film's animation style, appreciating the new elements and the extra gore that was added, what they thought of the cast's vocal performances and so much more.
