Hey, everyone! Welcome to episode 4 of Bede Vs. The Living Dead. The podcast where your host Bede Jermyn explores the remakes, re-edits, reimaginings, homages, unofficial follow-ups and more to George A. Romero’s 1968 classic Night Of The Living Dead across all media.
Not only is this episode the fourth one done for this podcast, this is also the last one for 2022 since your host Bede will be aways on holidays for both Christmas and New Years. Don't worry, the show will be back for its regular scheduled programming from January 8th to bring to more episodes on the many different versions of Night Of The Living Dead. However before he heads off on his holiday break, Bede has brought a jam-packed epic episode to end the year on, and it's one that he's been very excited to tackle ever since he put this show together. Why is that? Because our host finally dives into one of the most infamous re-edits of NOTLD that are out there: Night Of The Living Dead: 30th Anniversary Edition (which was spear-headed by original NOTLD co-writer John A. Russo, who wrote & directed 15+ minutes of new footage for this version) and its sequel, yes, that's right *sequel*, the 2001 film Children Of The Living Dead.
Joining Bede to discuss these two very maligned films are first time guests John Mathews & Tony Michas, the co-hosts of the podcasts Imprint Cast and Indicator Cast. Highlights in this episode include Bede and his guests trying to figure out why Night Of The Living Dead: 30th Anniversary Edition exists in the first place, how obvious the newly shot scenes look when mixed with the footage of the 1968 original, Scott Vladimir Licina's awful and cartoonishly over-the-top performance as "Reverend Hicks", the new score ruining the intensity of some scenes, the enjoyable so-bad-it's-hilarious qualities of the sequel Children Of The Living Dead, the scene that broke Bede while he was watching it, star Tom Savini's atrocious dubbing, the behind-the-scenes troubles on the film and so much more.

Hey, everyone! Welcome to episode 3 of Bede Vs. The Living Dead. The podcast where your host Bede Jermyn explores the remakes, re-edits, reimaginings, homages, unofficial follow-ups and more to George A. Romero’s 1968 classic Night Of The Living Dead across all media.
Now that we covered both the original and first remake of NOTLD, it's time to dip our toes in the world of re-edits and homages of the film with the first ones being the 1990 short parody film Night Of The Living Bread and the 1991 comedic re-dubbing, that has the longest time title ever, Night Of The Day Of The Dawn Of The Son Of The Bride Of The Return Of The Revenge Of The Terror Of The Attack Of The Evil, Mutant, Alien, Flesh Eating, Hellbound, Zombified Living Dead Part 2 In Shocking 2-D. Joining Bede on this look at the funny side of the living dead, is first time guest Lindsay Wilkins, the host of the awesome double feature podcast Schlock & Awe. In this episode Bede and Lindsay discuss how she saw *another* Romero zombie film before seeing the original Night Of The Living Dead, praise how the Night Of The Living Bread short perfectly captures the aesthetic of NOTLD, enjoying the charming silliness of bread attacking people, talk about how uncomfortable of a watch Night Of The Day Of The Dawn Of The Son... is, go depth into the very problematic elements of the film, giving credit to the actual funny moments in it and so much more.
WARNING: This episode does contains some topics that some listeners may find confronting or upsetting. Listener discretion is advised.

Hey, everyone! Welcome to episode 2 of Bede Vs. The Living Dead. The podcast where your host Bede Jermyn explores the remakes, re-edits, reimaginings, homages, unofficial follow-ups and more to George A. Romero’s 1968 classic Night Of The Living Dead across all media.
Now that the original 1968 film has been covered, the time has finally come to tackle the many different versions of Night Of The Living Dead that have been out over the years ever since it fell into the public domain. First up in this journey: the 1990 remake of the film starring Tony Todd, Patricia Tallman, Tom Towles and Bill Moseley, which was adapted by George A. Romero himself and was the feature directorial debut of legendary make-up artist Tom Savini.
Once again Bede is not alone as is joined by returning guest (and podcast co-host) Super Marcey (The Super Network, After Dark With Super Marcey) and first time guest Matt Konopka (KillerHorrorCritic.com). In this episode, Bede and his guests discuss how the remake compares to the original Night Of The Living Dead, what the remake improves upon the 1968 film, the social and political commentary of this version, debate whether the heighten tone works for the story, the new elements that they added to it, Tom Savini's struggles with directing it, the new cast's interpretations of the characters, the new character arc for "Barbara" and so much more.
Also Bede introduces a new segment that'll appear every few episodes on the show called The Living Dead Unreleased, which is a quick discussion on a version of Night Of The Living Dead that either hasn't been released yet or has never been made. For this one, Bede and his guests dive into the still currently unreleased but hopefully will come out soon independently made prequel/sequel Night Of The Living Dead: Genesis, which has Judith O'Dea reprising her role of "Barbara" from the 1968 film.

The podcast where your host Bede Jermyn explores the remakes, re-edits, reimaginings, homages, unofficial follow-ups and more to George A. However before he checks out every different version of Night Of The Living Dead , Bede decided that it would only be fair that we start the show by going back to where it all began by discussing the masterpiece that is the original 1968 version that was co-written/director by the legendary George A. Romero, who made his directing debut here. However he won't alone on this one, as he joined his first ever guests Super Marcey (his podcast co-host of the many podcasts on The Super Network), Marcus Wilturner and Derek Smith. In this first episode, Bede and his guests discuss the first time they each saw the film, how it changed the horror genre by being the first modern zombie film, the political and social commentary of the story, its historical impact, the cast, the trauma of the "Barbara" character, Duane Jones's casting as "Ben", how it went into the public domain and so much more.
