I recently had the opportunity to speak to the Alcoa high school seniors, juniors, and sophomores. The interaction with the students was excellent! The students were engaged in the message that was presented to them! I spoke about my journey and how others tried to write my story for me my whole life! The title of this message was called "You Write Your Own Story." I talked about the dangers of allowing others' opinions and expectations to determine the course of your life. Don't allow others' thoughts to guide the road map for your life! Remember, you write your own story! You are the author of your story so start your journey today to write your own story!

Rex Howard Jr. is a man of faith who has had many trials in his life journey, but through the grace of God, he is still able to tell his story and help others. He was born and raised in Knoxville, TN. He is a recent graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga! We talk about his mental health and how the pandemic played a crucial role in his life in this episode! After graduating, he relocated to Houston, TX, to pursue a master's degree in Marriage and family therapy. Jorddan Myrick was born and raised in Holland, MI. His grandmother and his mom raised him until his stepdad came into his life when he was five years old. Jorddan was a star athlete in Holland on every newspaper article and the news channels as a basketball player. As he entered high school, his life changed dramatically. He got a basketball scholarship offer he was always searching for in high school from Central Michigan University. This episode talks about his mental health growing up in a small town and being in the limelight as a mixed kid. We also talked about how his life changed dramatically at CMU and how that impacted his mental health in the future as a man. We want to introduce our new series being released today called "Mental Health Matters" with our first episode; we got a special treat for you. Our first guest is Albert Brown. His is a story filled with drive and passion in life. Albert is a child of immigrants who traveled from Jamaica and settled in Connecticut. In this episode, we talk about his journey as a child of an immigrant and crossing from state to state to chase his dream of being one of the top entrepreneurs in America one day. In his early 20s, he left Connecticut and traveled to Arizona, and once he was finding his way around, he became homeless, living on the streets of Arizona with his cousin. His cousin ended up going back home, but he stayed to continue to chase his dream. After leaving Arizona, he traveled to California, and after a few obstacles, he became homeless again in California, but that didn't stop him from becoming who he is today.
