Behind the Line

The controversial comments made by Golden State Warriors partial owner Chamath Palihapitiya have been in the news cycle over 24 hours. However...Stephen A Smith and ESPN...a personality and network supposedly dedicated to covering social justice in the sports world...have ignored this story.

We discuss the reason ESPN has chosen to ignore Chamath Palihapitiya. We also explain the hypocrisy of Adam Silver and the NBA remaining silent on this issue...and contrast this non-reaction to the NBA's reaction to Daryl Morey in 2019.

Kyrie Irving has used his platform over the last several months to speak for people who don't have a voice. While he's only briefly returned to the Brooklyn Nets...Kyrie Irving has been hounded by the media repeatedly over his status.

We play and react to a clip from the Brooklyn Nets press conference last night. In the clip...Kyrie Irving becomes visibly frustrated after the media continues to ask him the same questions. We explain how the mainstream media is pressuring him to change his stance...while he's being supported by his fellow NBA players like LeBron James and Kevin Durant.

We discuss how the media is attempting to turn Kyrie Irving into public enemy number one...and how millions of fans are supporting him.

The NBA has been ignoring incidents going on in China for years. When Adam Silver is pressed on the issue...or Enes Kanter pressures LeBron James...both Adam Silver and LeBron James brush it off like it doesn't exist.

Over the weekend...Chamath Palihapitiya pulled back the curtain on the NBA. We finally have someone willing to be truthful. We reveal what the part-owner of the Golden State Warriors had to say about the NBA and China.

Even though we don't agree with Chamath Palihapitiya...we commend him for his honesty. We explain why we need more authenticity like this in the NBA...instead of the league continuing to hide behind the curtain.

Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys suffered another humiliating loss in the playoffs this past weekend. The controversial final seconds caused several altercations between fans inside and outside the stadium. We play and react to several clips...of altercations involving fans of the Dallas Cowboys.

We also discuss the numerous problems with the Cowboys. We explain how Jerry Jones has major problems at the two most important positions...coach and quarterback. We talk about the likelihood of Mike McCarthy not returning to the Cowboys next season...and how Jerry Jones is stuck with Dak Prescott for the next two years.

Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless discussed the fact that Tom Brady is a sore loser. Not only is Tom Brady a sore loser...he is given a pass by fans and the media. Shannon Sharpe's reasoning for Tom Brady being given a pass is rather questionable.

We play and react to a couple of clips of Shannon Sharpe contradicing himself. We explain how this is another opportunity for Shannon Sharpe to use a situation in sports...to promote propaganda.

Brian Flores and David Culley were both fired this week...leaving the NFL with Mike Tomlin as the only African American head coach. Currently...there are seven NFL teams with head coaching vacancies that will be filled in the coming weeks.

Once Adam Schefter and the media saw this morsel of truth...they ran with the same tired narrative. Once again...we bust through the media narrative regarding the NFL and it's hiring process for head coaches.

We provide statistics...and look into the background of current NFL head coaches and who gets hired. We explain how the media narrative isn't really about NFL head coaches...and discuss the media's long-term dislike of the NFL.

Novak Djokovic is the number one tennis player in the world...and has his sights set on winning a record 21 Grand Slam titles this year. Novak Djokovic intended to start that journey this weekend at the Australian Open.

However...the Australian government threw a wrench in those plans. Novak Djokovic isn't being allowed to compete in the Australian Open. We give the reason why...and explain how this is another example of government overreach.

We also react to a clip of Bill Walton from last night's basketball game at UCLA. Bill Walton engaged in an on-air debate with long-time broadcast partner Dave Pasch. We blast Bill Walton for his unrealistic opinion on UCLA not allowing fans in the arena...and students on campus.

Kyrie Irving has remained staunch on his stance regarding the vaccine. Months ago...Kyrie Irving refused to get vaccinated...and said he would use his platform to speak for people without the voice to fight mandates.

Kyrie Irving stuck to his word...and it appears he is winning. It was announced yesterday...New York City will allow Kyrie Irving to play in home games for the Brooklyn Nets. Will Adam Silver and the NBA front office allow this to happen?

We discuss the Kyrie Irving situation...and applaud him for standing his ground. We explain the dangerous precedent New York City is setting...by allowing Kyrie Irving to play in Brooklyn...by paying fines.

The NFL experienced massive success in the 2021 regular season. NFL TV ratings were the highest since 2015...with the top-10 games averaging between 25-40 million viewers. The popularity of the NFL is nearing record highs...while National Championship ratings in college football are on the decline.

We give the reason why NFL TV ratings continue to surge...while college football and the NBA are in decline. We discuss how to improve college football ratings...and the importance of treating college football like a minor league NFL system.

LeBron James rushed to judgment when Glenn Consor made his controversial call on Kevin Porter Jr. Wednesday night. In a press conference on Thursday...LeBron James doubled down on his criticism of Glenn Consor.

We play and react to several key moments of the press conference...where LeBron James attempts to explain his reasoning. We also give credit to LeBron James...for publicly stating he doesn't want Glenn Consor to lose his job. However...we point out the fact that once again...LeBron James is pushing this story to fit the narrative.
