Behind the Line

The Tokyo Olympics has been a disaster for NBC in regards to television ratings. There has been a lot of speculation from the media as to why ratings for the Olympics are near record lows. Some blame COVID restrictions...some blame cord cutting...others blame the time difference.

The media blatantly ignores the real reason Americans are refusing to watch the Olympics...the infusion of woke politics. We breakdown the variety of excuses the media has used for the low Olympic ratings.

We also list the political instances that have occurred on the Olympic platform...and explain why this has caused Americans to reject the Olympics.

Laurel Hubbard is being celebrated by the mainstream media in America for making history. You might be wondering...what kind of history did she make? Did she set a world record? Did Lauren Hubbard lift more weight than any other woman in the history of the Olympics?

No...the media is claiming Laurel Hubbard made history...by being the first transgender woman to compete in the Olympics. We react to the woke media's obsession with Laurel Hubbard.

We also explain how the 2021 Tokyo Olympics have represented a shift in America...where we are expected to celebrate mediocrity and losing instead of greatness.

The Tokyo Olympics continued their ratings decline over the weekend. Ratings in primetime on NBC Friday night were near record lows...and was the least watched day of the 2021 Olympics thus far.

With the increase of political protests from Gwen Berry and Raven Saunders over the weekend...we believe ratings for the Olympics will continue to slide...and could be under 10 million this week.

We also reveal NBA Draft ratings from Thursday night. The media is claiming ratings for the NBA Draft were up six percent. However...we explain how the NBA Draft was actually down 27 percent...and what makes this even worse for the NBA.

The International Olympic Committee decision to relax enforcement of Rule 50...which bans political demonstrations...as a way to appease the woke community blew up in their face on Sunday.

After winning the silver medal...Raven Saunders took to the medal podium...and took part in a political demonstration. Raven Saunders said she was fighting against oppression...but failed to name who in America is being oppressed.

We react to what happened...and explain how these Olympic athletes are actually protesting to become stars and get attention for themselves...instead of protesting against mythical injustices.

Gwen Berry is back at it again....speaking and saying a lot of words...without saying anything of substance. She was interviewed after her Olympic event earlier this morning...and claimed that she earned the right to represent America.

We analyze Gwen Berry's comments...and once again destroy her commentary. We explain that Gwen Berry isn't representing America...and that she wants to choose who in America she represents.

We explain that Gwen Berry is one of the reasons that Americans are actively hoping certain athletes lose in the Olympics.

There is clearly a generational gap between the majority of Americans...and modern Olympic athletes representing the country. Simone Biles created controversy by stepping aside earlier this week.

Now...Lilly King wants Americans to celebrate silver and bronze medals. Essentially...she is demanding that Americans to celebrate losing. We react to comments made by Lilly King after she finished second in a swimming event on Friday.

We compare her to Olympians from the past...and athletes like Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady. Could you imagine Mahomes and Brady being content with finishing in second place? We explain why Americans expect greatness...and how America is unlikely to celebrate second place.

The Olympics have become so woke...even Democrats are criticizing them. Bill Maher blasted the Tokyo Olympics last night on his HBO show. He laid several examples of woke instances that are turning people off from watching the Olympics on NBC.

We go over Bill Maher's commentary...and explain how wokeness is once again destroying what used to be a pristine institution. We also react to the far left wokers that are blasting Bill Maher for criticizing the Olympics.

The federal government is stepping in to pressure the NBA and its players to sever ties with two Chinese companies. Anta and La-Ning are two Chinese companies that use several NBA players for endorsements.

Both companies are accused of using forced labor for their cotton. A bipartisan group in Congress has formed...and are pressuring the NBA and its players to take action against the human rights violations in China. Some of the players involved are Jimmy Butler...Klay Thompson...CJ McCollum...and future Hall-of-Famer Dwayne Wade.

Surprisingly...Nike and LeBron James ceased buying cotton picked by forced labor. This decision caused a fierce backlash in China...with the Chinese boycotting Nike.

Will the NBA respond? Will Adam Silver take advantage of this opportunity to do the right thing?

Simone Biles has been the center of controversy this week for her decision to withdraw from the Olympics. She has her supporters...and she has her detractors. For the most part...the situation with Simone Biles has remained apolitical.

Two of Simone Biles' biggest detractors are Charlie Kirk and Doug Gottlieb. Both were highly critical of Simone Biles' decision to withdraw from the Olympics...with Charlie Kirk even attacking her personally.

However...CNN used this criticism of Simone Biles to promote the woke agenda. We reveal how CNN went about doing this...and explain why this is one of a myriad of reasons that CNN ratings continue to rapidly decline.

The 2021 Olympics continue to be a ratings disaster for NBC. Olympic ratings opening weekend hit 33-year lows...and the decline continued on Monday. We reveal the primetime ratings for the Olympics Monday on NBC.

We also explain why the low ratings are forcing NBC to offer reimbursement to advertisers. Variety is reporting sponsors for the Olympics are feeling anxious about the low ratings...which would make NBC offer them free ad time in the future.

We theorize that the reason ratings for the Olympics are so low is because the IOC allowed politics...which caused both Republicans and Democrats to refuse to watch.
