In this episode of the podcast, I sat down with psychology student and extreme sportsman, Matt Lock.
Matt has trained and competed in extreme sports for pretty much his whole life, from ‘b-boying’/breakdancing and parkour when he was younger, to snowboarding and now MMA and BJJ in his early adulthood.
Matt is also somewhat of a modern day nomad, having lived in a plethora of places all over the world from the French Alps, to Portugal and Brazil.
All of these experiences have given Matt unique perspectives on living, and that combined with his formal study of psychology, has led Matt to develop a nuanced school of thought towards human health and how we live our lives.
Matt shared:
- The sneaky advantages of being multi-lingual.
- Why financial security is a PSYOP.
- Why everyone in the West is so obese.
- Why psychology is best approached from an evolutionary angle.
- Why he learned more Russian than he did French when he first moved to France.
- His moonlight, beach fight, MMA origin story.
And much, much more.
This was a really fun conversation. Matt and I share a lot of similar views, so we veered off on a lot of tangents. He has lived an interesting incredibly interesting and action packed life for someone still in their 20s, so I hope you enjoy listening to his stories and perspectives.
