Best Frenemies episodes

  • Episode #27: We Can’t Let it Be
Johnny and Christopher discuss the new Danny Boyle film Yesterday and, as always, they have their Top Five lists. And in a surprise twist, Johnny plays audio evidence of Juggs, former guest, threatening Christopher, which shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone because Juggs is an Aussie. He’s basically a violent Crocodile Dundee minus the charm. He was butt-bent when Christopher called him out for flaking on recording a segment for the podcast last month. And speaking of flaking, Coach Jeff just pulled a Juggs and flaked on recording his segment for this episode because he was playing dominos with his family. The Best Frenemies don’t expect much from Juggs, being an Aussie and all, but Coach Jeff?! Come on, man.

  • Episode #26: No Mercy!
Johnny and Christopher weren’t prepared for this episode! Professor Juggs was in town from Australia and suggested they record. The Best Frenemies agreed! But when the day came, Juggs opted to go drinking instead (such an Aussie thing to do). Johnny and Christopher powered on anyway with Top 5 things to do/buy if they win the lottery, recommendations, and the discussion of Cobra Kai Season Two.
*If you listen to this episode and feel like Johnny and Christopher phoned it in, please contact Professor Juggs at Full Metal Jiu Jitsu with a strongly worded email and let him know he’s a lame-ass.

  • Episode #25: What’s Cooking?
Johnny and Christopher bring you episode #25! Wow! These losers haven’t been this committed to anything since the time they tried to stay up for ten consecutive days back in the 90s. This episode has Chef Gene Villiatora talking about his time on the television show Top Chef, coming up in the Las Vegas kitchen circuit, and being a chef to the stars. Top 5 documentaries. And they recommend some stuff.

  • Episode #24: Couples Counseling
Johnny and Christopher come out at the bell swinging. They slap fight the hell outta each other with Top Five things that bug the shit about each other. (Spoiler: Johnny’s list reads more like a love letter. He finally admits how smitten he is with Christopher. It’s rather disgusting.) They discuss their adventures at WonderCon. (Spoiler: Christopher and Nick the Tooth explored he convention together. Johnny doesn’t play well with others, so he was by himself.) They recommend some stuff. (Spoiler: Christopher knows that nobody will like his recommendation, and he doesn’t care. To hell with you all.) Enjoy!

  • Episode #23: Another Dimension
In this very special installment, we learn that Johnny overheard his wife, Nikki, admit to a friend that she likes Christopher. Mind blown! She is the first wife of a friend that doesn’t loath him. Oh, yeah, they do Top Five sidekicks, discuss inter-dimensional travel, a stolen Beatles album, and they recommend some stuff … but the real meat and potatoes of the episode is that Nikki likes Christopher.

  • Episode #22: Bros Trip!
Johnny and Christopher razzle & dazzle with episode 22! Top 5 80s TV Shows! Recommendations! And Coach Jeff and Kenji stop by to discuss how the Best Frenemies both got a hall pass from their wives to go on a bros trip to New York—how did that happen?

  • Episode #21: Flying Hawaiian Part 2
Episode 21! The Best Frenemies podcast is legally old enough to drink booze. Johnny and Christopher are back to razzle dazzle you. In this very special episode, Christopher doesn’t curse once, Johnny gets tased, Professor Ian Delizo is back with part two of his interview. We have the Top Five worst sequels, recommend some stuff, and it bears repeating that Johnny gets tased.

  • Episode #20: Flying Hawaiian Part 1
Johnny and Christopher are back! In a two-part interview, Professor Ian Delizo sits down with his star Jiu Jitsu students and discusses how he is abandoning them when he moves back to Hawaii (spoiler alert: Christopher will never forgive him). In this episode, the Best Frenemies have the most heated Top Five segment (spoiler alert: Johnny turns in his worst Top Five list yet. His picks from 5 to 3 are simply horrible). And they recommend some stuff.

  • Episode #19: Easy Come, Easy Go, Little High, Little Low
Johnny and Christopher discuss their performances at the Long Beach International Jiu-Jitsu Championship (Spoiler alert: Johnny got a bronze participation medal while Christopher earned a silver participation medal … we all know who the winner is, right?) Top Five bucket lists (Another spoiler alert: Johnny’s list is more homoerotic than a Joel Schumacher superhero film.) They discuss the Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, recommendations, and of course they go off topic and ramble about stuff only interesting to them.

  • Episode #18: The Road to Gold … or Silver
Johnny and Christopher are bonding in a brotherhood of blood as they prepare for the Long Beach International Open Jiu-Jitsu Championship! They discuss their less-than rigorous training, nonexistent dietary restrictions, and how they’re guaranteed silver medals because they only have one fight. Also, Christopher is the undisputed champ of Top Five Sports Films. They recommend some stuff and kind of mention Halloween in this episode, but not really.
