I can definitely point out specific elements I prefer in “Fury Road” compared to “Furiosa.” The latter has more VFX, which makes me miss some of the excitement Miller created with practical effects. I find that “Fury Road” operates on a more subtle thematic level, even though the visual language in the film is quite intense. On the other hand, “Furiosa” takes it a step further by emphasizing the metaphorical importance of every scene through dialogue. Despite these minor issues, it's easy to overlook them because of the grand vision Miller presents and his passion for this world, characters, and bold storytelling. Plus, there's a character named piss boy, making this movie truly diverse in its appeal.
