While the Hitchcock classic features the effortlessly charming Grace Kelly and the big Rhea Perlman energy of Thelma Ritter, the true star of the movie is the elaborate apartment courtyard set. We take a meaningful tangent into the topic of past lives and innate talents, we imagine this movie as a stage production, and we warn you right away that the dog, indeed, dies in this otherwise fairly perfect movie.

After much anticipation, we can finally queen out on Fran Kranz's queen-level directorial and screenwriting debut, "Mass." Despite having no notes and still "needing space," as Ann Dowd would say, we dive deep into everything from the stages of grief each character represents to the importance of Jason Isaacs' dirty tennis sneakers. There's "no Dowd about it" that Ann should and perhaps will be nominated for Best Supporting Actress, but we were not prepared for the gospel of Martha Plimpton. (To say nothing of Best Supporting Judy and Kendall!) We can't help but sing the praises of this incredibly heavy and hard to sell movie that we're just so excited to watch again.

We have much to say about the nomination of Linda Blair as well as the recognition of Mercedes McCambridge for her voice work, and the overall impact of the Oscar winning sound design. This week on the Best Supporting Aftershow Colin tells us about the much anticipated second viewing of Mass followed by a live Q&A with ANN DOWD. Nick surprises Colin by revealing that he has finished Work in Progress Season 2, and both hosts discuss the joy of the current season of the Great British Bake off.

In our Best Supporting Assignment segment, Nick is thoroughly creeped out by 1973's The Baby, and Colin reluctantly commits to watching more of the Squid Game at his own pace.

In our BSA of the Week segment its ties all around as Nick can't decided between Work In Progress Season 2 and the Rita Moreno documentary while Colin announces his continued love and admiration for both Ann Dowd and a recent McGriddle experience.

Pardon the audio this episode, we had some telekinetic difficulties but it's not like we burned down the prom or anything. This week we're queening out on Oscar nominee Piper Laurie as one of horror's most monstrous mothers, Margaret White in 1976's "Carrie." (The question is even posed as to whether she should have won the Academy Award over Beatrice Straight in "Network" that year!) We also have much to say about Broadway legend Betty Buckley in her film debut as Miss Collins, a sympathetic gym teacher fond of a face journey and a cigarette in the principal's office. Plus: Sue Snell and Tommy Ross as "good kids," Nancy Allen as the iconically evil Chris, John Travolta as her flunky hunk, Ellen Travolta as a brief tangent that has nothing to do with "Carrie," and praise for Pino, Priscilla Pointer and that perfectly bonkers ending.

So much has already been said about Alfred Hitchcock's "Psycho" and its impact on the horror genre and American cinema in general, but its worth also mentioning that Janet Leigh was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her performance as the ill-fated Marion Crane. While she's best known for her shower scene, the conversation over sandwiches with Anthony Perkins' perfectly played Norman, the constant inner turmoil behind her eyes while driving, and of course those beautiful brows make her truly fascinating in this role. We also queen out on the Hitchcock hunks, including cutie patootie Perkins, Assistant to the BSA Vera Miles as the maybe lesbian Lila, Bernard Herrmann's iconic score, connections to both "Halloween" and "The Blair Witch Project," and reasons to not bother with the 1998 remake. Plus: who we would cast in "Psycho" today, some wishful thinking about John Gavin's sexuality, and a plea to the congregation for "Mass."
