1. Love sets the atmosphere

gentleness and patience. Make allowance for each other’s faults,

Never just about behavior.
Always about the heart.
It costs…

“Beware! Guard against every kind of greed. Life is not measured by
how much you own.” Luke 12:15 NLT
“Never Enough" becomes a gateway to every other sin.
"Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag
us away. These desires give birth to sinful actions. And when sin is
allowed to grow, it gives birth to death." James1:14 & 15 NLT
2. Enough – God is Enough
“I've learned by now to be quite content whatever my circumstances.
I'm just as happy with little as with much, with much as with little. I've
found the recipe for being happy whether full or hungry, hands full or

1. Don’t weaponize your words

“Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” James 4:7
“Cursed are you more than all cattle, and more than every beast of
the field, on your belly you will go, and dust you will eat” Genesis 3:14

2. Our words reveal what family we belong to

What does this commandment mean?
“You shall not oppress your neighbor or rob him.” Leviticus 19:13
“rob” - gazal – to take by force
“ganab” - “secretly taking something that isn’t yours”
“The city shall be accursed, it and all that is in it belongs to the Lord”
Joshua 6:17
“as for you, only keep yourselves from the accursed things [the
spoils of war], lest you make yourselves accursed” Joshua 6:18
“But the children of Israel committed a trespass in the accursed
thing: for Achan…took of the accursed thing” Joshua 7:1
“accursed” – cherem – devoted thing
We ganab when we…
Take so we can get without giving

Take credit for someone else’s work or ideas

Take without paying

A lack of trust in God

Exodus 20:14

1. God Built the House
“Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to

2. Culture Wars Against the House

1. Every life matters to God

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they
may have life and have it more abundantly.” John 10:10

2. Let’s allow God to do a heart check Matthew 5:21 - 26
“You have heard that our ancestors were told, ‘You must not murder.
If you commit murder, you are subject to judgment.’ But I say, if you

call someone Raca, you are in danger of being brought before the
court; and whoever says, ‘You fool,’ shall be guilty enough to go into

“anger” – continual anger, resentment.
