I recently had a conversation with someone who told me they thought people only go to the gym to look better. While I think it's ok to want to look good, I completely disagree that this is the sole reason we workout!
In my experience, your physique changes are the LAST to manifest. Better mood, better sleep, and brain clarity are just a few of the IMMEDIATE benefits of eating nutritious foods and being active! The best way to sustain a healthy lifestyle is to have more goals than just improving how your body looks (and again -- it's still ok for that to be part of it!!)
I would love to see our society highlight health first and better looks as a side effect of being healthy, so I brought my health and fitness coach, Paula Ciarniello, on to discuss alllllll the positives of working out that aren't related to appearance!
