How to have a Care-frontation:
1. Honor and acknowledge the other person using these sentence stamps:
- “What I appreciate about you is…”
- “What I respect most about you is…”
- “What I admire about you is…”
- “What I love about you is…”
2. Make a genuine request:
- “I need your support in…”
- “What would work better for me is…”
- “Can we make a new agreement to…”
Take a deep breath. Know that it’s completely normal if your heart is racing right now. This is not an everyday action that one makes. It takes courage and giving up your point of view. It takes patience, deep-listening and a commitment to love and affinity to be present in the relationship that has broken down. You can do this!
