Come join our bubble! It's nice here when nobody's having a flare-up.
Jay goes through a gamut of emotions this week as first we talk about some theatre pet peeves, and then we review an accordion-tastic episode of The Lawrence Welk Show (linked below), which deals Jay a crushing disappointment. But then, Becca tells the story of an incident with IBS, including a costly misdiagnosis, and Jay's mood turns right around! With everyone's feelings in balance, we test each others' skill at separating fake porn titles from real ones.
The Lawrence Welk Show- Transportation (1972)
Tice is recognized as the producer/editor of the show! Huzzah!! Tice can't keep Becca and Jay quiet long enough to get clean edits! Huzzoof!!
As Tice wrangles with what being "Between Two Butts" truly entails, we discuss vacations, Jay's dreams of train robberies with Becca, pee dreams, school dreams, THAT kind of dream, improv guns, daddies (THAT kind of daddy), daddies squared, daddies cubed, granddaddies, Papa Smurf, video stores, THAT room in the video store (the one with the streamers), and more. Then, after we talk about the various versions of the Pyramid franchise of game shows, we are transported to the bonus round of the Bajillion Dollar Triangle, which is remarkably similar. Yes, Dick Clark is trending on Between Two Butts...two episodes in a row!
It's the Episode that Lived! (Episode 3.0 will sadly never be, as Tice went to hit record and missed.) After we take some time to recover, Becca talks about how she deals with dick pics in her DMs, Tice struggles to find meaning in the newspaper comic "Pluggers", and Jay remembers a performance that was described as "burning-ass-tastic". Then, as a finale, we play the classic improv game of Dr. Know-it-All, which morphs into Dr. Theatre Critic. Are we recording?
It's a day of lists! Becca lists the 6 shows she's watching at the moment. Jay gives his Top Ten list of post-theatre-show comments from friends in the audience. Tice gets everybody to list their favorite sauces, among other topics. Also, Jay is wondering why Tice never gets mad. (It's because we haven't talked about Pluggers yet. Patience.)
In our very first episode, Becca introduces us to her cat Echo and gives us the latest on Echo's bathroom drama, Jay tells us what about our personalities drives others to dislike us (based on our astrological sign) and Tice shares that he likes the '70s version of Match Game because the people on it were terrible, apparently. Finally, everyone plays a few rounds of Let's Make a Match, which is totally different. (Shout-out to our music man Matthew Scarborough, who wrote our theme music AND the funktastic thinking music for our game!)
