We caught up with Lorie Yourd, Board President of the Watermark Art Center in Bemidji. She filled us in on what is happening with the renovation of the new art center! Multiple dedicated gallery spaces, rooms for workshops, opportunities for community experiences, and a comprehensive retail space will all make up the new art center.

The Jaques Art Center has been bringing visual art experiences to the Aitkin area for 22 years. This weekend kicked off their latest exhibit, Community Canvas, created by people who live in and love the Aitkin area. We spoke with Barden Heft the President of the Jaques Board of Directors. He told us the history of the Jaques Art Center, explained the Community Canvas project and talked about what the Jaques Art Center brings to Aitkin .

Bernis Ingvaldson and her husband Jim started Honeyberry Farm on their 2 1/2 acre home place 7 years ago. They started building their log home in 2004 and moved in in 2oo5. In the winter of 2010 Bernis saw a new blue-colored fruit in a gardening magazine, called honeyberry. She tasted them in Canada. Soon she and Jim had planted an acre of honeyberries and some other fruit. Bernis says, "It's the oddest looking berry you've probably ever seen in your life. Every honeyberry has its own shape.
