    Baptism is one of the few practices of the Church that is commanded by Jesus and has been practiced continually since the beginning of the faith. And yet, in contemporary conversations baptism can mean a lot of different things depending on who you are asking.     We’re back in the studio! After a brief recording hiatus from vacations and other responsibilities the gang is back together and we are ready to take on the world.
    This week we asking a simple question: are we paying enough attention to Christians who are being persecuted around the world?
    The question may be simple but the answers are highly complicated and messy. Better yet, the Beyond Sunday Team is here to help us sift through all of the mud that can cloud the true issue. The fact is that Christianity is the most persecuted religion in the world and yet in the United States few, if any of us, experience true persecution on account of our faith. So how can we better support, connect with, and encourage our global brothers and sisters who put their lives on the line in the name of Jesus Christ?

    This week, Patrick and Pastor David tackle some debates that often come up in the world of faith and find themselves sitting squarely in the middle of the divide. Do we have to give up science to read the beginning of Genesis? Was Mary always a virgin? Do we know when the world is going to end? These are all important issues over which many people will draw a line in the sand. But the Beyond Sunday Team wants to explore the middle ground. Maybe we don’t have to choose a side. Maybe we can like Star Wars and Star Trek? But one thing is for certain: Pastor David does not care when the world is going to end.
