On this episode of the Beyond the Helmet we are joined by Larrell Murchison who was just drafted by the Tennessee Titans to start his NFL career.

The Titans landed themselves a guy who has done nothing but drastically improve each year. Larrell spent 2 years at Junior College where he made a name for himself. From there he transferred to NC State where he grew tremendously on the field.

Murchison redshirted after transferring and the following year he turned heads. He then parlayed this into being an All-Conference player and earning his way to being drafted in the 5th round by Tennessee. I have no doubt he will continue his upward trajectory once he gets a chance to prove himself.

On this episode of the Beyond the Helmet we are joined by Grayland Arnold who just signed with the Eagles to start his NFL career.

The Eagles are getting an all around athlete who was a stud basketball player in high school and played QB, WR and Defense before focusing on Defense and Punt Return in college. After redshirting in 2018 he burst onto the scene this year recording 6 picks for the Bears.

Grayland was a 2nd team all conference performer this year. He was a leader on this Baylor program that saw a remarkable turnaround under Coach Rhule. We took the time to discuss how coach made that happened and what it meant as Grayland developed into being a NFL calibre player.

Lamarr retired earlier this year with the Raiders and has traded in terrorizing quarterbacks for angel investing. He and his business partner, Desmond Bryant, operate League Ventures to do so.

Brian was part of the inaugural Jacksonville Jaguars draft, being drafted to anchor the Line with Tony Boselli. His career got off to a great start but it began to be derailed by injuries which is where Brian’s story truly begins. 

To put it bluntly, he went through Hell; everything but death. On the podcast he details the path his injuries set him on which ultimately provide the opportunity for him to be who he is today. It is truly an incredible story that does lead to his work at DRAFTR media which will disrupt how content creators and distributors work in the near future.

On this episode of the Beyond the Helmet we are joined by former standout safety and Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket, Nick Ferguson.

Nick finished school in 1996 but it wasn’t until 2000 that he started his 10 year career in the NFL. He spent 4 years grinding in the CFL, NFL Europe and going to NFL camps to earn his shot. He broke down his work ethic and mindset to see his vision through.

Ferguson spent the bulk of his career with the Broncos and he now is on 104.3 The Fan in Denver as a sports radio personality. He talked about making the transition to life after the game as well as what he would like to see the Broncos do in the draft.

Usama went from working concessions at Redskins games to playing in their stadium. He worked his way into being recruited by Kent State where he spent 4 years before being drafted into the NFL. He won a Super Bowl with the Saints and then spent the second half of his career with the Browns and Raiders.

Young started a foundation, Believe In U, while playing in the league. Today his professional ocus is split between there and working in player engagement with the NFL. His lifelong passion of helping others and giving back to the community is as strong now as it has ever been.

Mike Minter made a name for himself as a standout coming out of Oklahoma and cemented himself in history as part of Coach Tom Osborne’s championship Nebraska teams. He brought unparalleled toughness to the NFL where he played Safety for the Carolina Panthers for 9 years.

Minter became Coach Minter not very long after his playing days ended. He was a very successful high school coach for 3 years before trying out the college ranks and now he is preparing for year 7 with the Campbell Fighting Camels. Mike has instilled a culture with his team that lad seen incredible growth year after year and he expects that to continue.

Driscoll started every game at Right Tackle for Auburn over the last 2 seasons. He talked about his journey from UMass to the War Eagles and how his focus allowed him to raise his game. When you work toward one goal your entire life, nothing can throw you off your mission.

On this episode of the Beyond the Helmet we are joined by Offensive Lineman, Damien Lewis who is coming off a National Championship season. Damien speaks on his journey through LSU and what he is doing now to prepare for the NFL Draft.

Damien played both sides of the ball in high school but ended up going to Northwest Mississippi Community College for 2 years. It was at the JUCO level that he built himself into one of the best players in the country where he was an All-American and All-Academic player. 

Coach O found Damien and Lewis spent the past 2 years playing for the Tigers. Damien started every game at guard since getting to Baton Rouge and he played his way into the Senior Bowl and NFL Combine. Lewis is a top IOL prospect and figures to be playing on Sunday for years to come.
