Beyond The Message

In this week’s Beyond the Message episode, we reflect on God's pursuit of Hagar, the pain of personal brokenness, and the ways we often try to distance ourselves from biblical stories—only to find ourselves right in the middle of them. Through real-life examples of estranged family relationships, doubts about God’s power, and the tension between faith and self-reliance, we explore how God brings beauty from brokenness. It’s an honest conversation about how God’s grace meets us right in the middle of our mess and gently leads us toward healing.

This episode of Beyond the Message focuses on exploring themes of doubt and faith through the biblical story of Abram. The discussion centers around how Abram questions God's promises and how God responds to Abram's doubts with kindness and reassurance. The hosts discuss the importance of looking up to see God's works and looking back at what God has done as ways to address doubt. They emphasize that doubt is a normal part of faith and encourage viewers to engage with their doubts honestly, both with God and within their community.

This week we dig deeper into Genesis 13 and the ongoing Promises Made, Promises Kept series, where Abram faces the gap between God’s promises and their fulfillment. We unpack the challenge of trusting God when the path looks rocky—and everyone else seems to have it better. With stories of surrender, uncertainty, and God's presence in hard places, this conversation gets honest about outcome engineering, FOMO, and what it really means to trust when it costs you something.

We kick off the podcast with a deeper look at the Promises Made, Promises Kept series, unpacking Pastor Joe’s teaching on Genesis 11–12. From the fall at Babel to God’s call to Abraham, we explore what it means to truly hear and respond to God’s call. Guests share real stories of surrendering over control in finances, family, and work.
