In this podcast i am going to discuss what emotional unavailability looks like. If you don’t know what signs to look for, it’s easy to get blindsided.
Unavailability can show up as addiction, workaholism, evasive, entitled, and excuse after excuse.. Or, it can look like “toxic positivity” sudden anger, a low mood in which they suddenly stop talking. They have difficulty expressing authentic emotions.
Someone who has been in a relationship with someone who’s emotionally unavailable may not have recognized what was happening until they were ghosted. This is very traumatizing.
Emotional unavailability typically starts in childhood caused from insecurity with one of our primary caregivers. If a secure foundation was not provided for our emotional growth and having emotions, and Emotionally Unavailable Person will feel uncomfortable around all emotions.
