SERMON THESIS- Revelation 13-1-10 opens a clear window into John's inspired vision of the Beast out of the Sea, who, in time, becomes the Beast out of the Bottomless Pit. These two events, his rise out of the Sea, followed by his rise out of the Pit, span the first half of Daniel's seventieth week and culminate at the middle of the week when the Abomination of Desolation occurs. The vision then goes to explain the final period of the Beast's ruthless rule in the last half of the 70th Week. Just as Daniel saw the first four kings and kingdoms of prophecy as brute beasts- John now sees the final phase of the fourth beast-kingdom as a beast unparalleled. This beastly person shall prove to be the most powerful and pervasive of all prophetic beast-systems. He shall also prove to be the most perverted mortal to ever walk upon the earth. SERMON THESIS- In Daniel 7 the prophet's first vision focused upon the Roman Little Horn that shall arise out of the fourth Empire of Prophecy. In Daniel 8 the prophet's second vision now turns the spotlight upon the Syrian Little Horn that was to arise out of the third Empire of Prophecy. The key is to show us how God will move Gentile world power from the Eastern theater, to the Western theater of Europe. In doing so the Holy Spirit provides a literal-historical preview of the coming Antichrist via the person of Antiochus.
