  • Mini Boss Babble Episode 5: Part 2 - Bethesda's Creation Club
Mini Boss Babble are smaller, one topic cuts from our otherwise extensive weekly podcast. In this, the second part of our fifth Big Boss Babble podcast, we discuss Bethesda's recently relaunched Creation Club, a second attempt at one of the companies initiatives from the past.Is charging for mods wrong? Well, that's a big grey area. Is changing continuously for mods well after they've been approved to work on the games fair? Well, that's certainly a lot less of a grey area. The modding community is a strange thing, regularly simply creating things they wanted to experience in the game — how does an act of passion combine with an act of, what can be seen as, gatekeeping?Topic lead Jorge is entirely free to experience, but it'll cost you $6.99 to experience Terry, Dan & Dann's inputs in the conversation — or will it?If you’re interested in hearing the full podcast then you can check it out here. Can’t find us on your ideal podcast feed? • Mini Boss Babble Episode 2: Part 6 - Raiders of the Broken Planet
Mini Boss Babble are smaller, one topic cuts from our otherwise extensive weekly podcast. In this, the final (bar the top secret bonus one included in the full podcast) section of our second Big Boss Babble podcast, we discussed upcoming asymmetric shooter Raiders of the Broken Planet. Both Stefan and Dann have been playing the title, which is in closed beta, and wanted to spend some time on the podcast discussing the game's unique visual design, as well as the game's sometimes brutal mechanics and flexible round time.Stefan & Dann led the topic while Terry, Toby, and Jorge hit crazy space-cockney poses while fighting off mutants..*Please excuse this week’s lack of proper intro and outro, let’s write that off as teething issues. If you’re interested in hearing the full podcast then you can check it out here. Can’t find us on your ideal podcast feed? • Mini Boss Babble Episode 2: Part 5 - Final Fantasy XV Comrades
Mini Boss Babble are smaller, one topic cuts from our otherwise extensive weekly podcast. In this, the fifth part of our second Big Boss Babble podcast, we opened the discussion with Final Fantasy XV Comrades, specifically how the IP has managed to evolve from the single-player experience which launched a year back into what we see now.Stefan, who led the topic, hadn't actually played a Final Fantasy title before, which let the topic to rapidly derail into discussion of the long-running series before it turned back to discussing how games of the future will adapt themselves post launch — harkening back to the earlier topics of eSports and DLC.Stefan led the topic while Terry, Toby, Dann and Jorge talked over-enthusiastically about JRPGS.*Please excuse this week’s lack of proper intro and outro, let’s write that off as teething issues. If you’re interested in hearing the full podcast then you can check it out here. Can’t find us on your ideal podcast feed? • Mini Boss Babble Episode 2: Part 4 - Single Player Micro-transactions
Mini Boss Babble are smaller, one topic cuts from our otherwise extensive weekly podcast. In this, the fourth part of our second Big Boss Babble podcast, we discussed MICRO-TRANSACTIONS IN SINGLE PLAYER GAMES. Sorry about shouting that, it's an important topic.Important to note though, it's an extensive topic as well. As the gaming landscape shifts with online play, and longer lifespans for games becoming more prominent in larger games, the way we interact with games is constantly changing. This is easily one of my (Dann) favourite topics thus far as over the duration of the topic we all shift from disapproval to realisation that there is a point where it's not only acceptable, but preferred.Jorge led the topic while Terry, Toby, Stefan and Dann also had fast emerging epiphanies.*Please excuse this week’s lack of proper intro and outro, let’s write that off as teething issues. If you’re interested in hearing the full podcast then you can check it out here. Can’t find us on your ideal podcast feed? • Mini Boss Babble Episode 2: Part 1 - Hellblade & Permadeath
Mini Boss Babble are smaller, one topic cuts from our otherwise extensive weekly podcast. In this, the first part of our second Big Boss Babble podcast, we discussed Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice's rumoured permadeath mechanic which was said to delete player's saves should they die too many times. As it turned out the mechanic was a dud, however it created an understandable stir between those used to such mechanics, and those who feel that they should never truly be mandatory in a story based game.As some of us here in B3's walls are *cough* greying gamers it made for an interesting discussion about difficulty in games and the penny-pinching design of arcade classics.Dann led the topic while Terry, Toby, Stefan and Jorge were also in attendance.*Please excuse this week's lack of proper intro and outro, let's write that off as teething issues. If you're interested in hearing the full podcast then you can check it out here. Can't find us on your ideal podcast feed? • Mini Boss Babble Episode 1: Part 6 – Sundered
Mini Boss Babble are smaller, one topic cuts from our otherwise extensive weekly podcast. In this, the final part of our first Big Boss Babble podcast, we discussed the recently released Sundered. It’s a beautiful hand-drawn platformer with unforgiving enemies and elements of procedural generation. It’s the difficulty which becomes the hot topic however, as Jorge explains the game’s “Death by a Thousand Cuts” attitude and the team waxes nostalgic over Heart of Darkness and other titles.Jorge led the topic while Terry, Toby and Dann were also in attendance.Want to find out a bit more about Sundered? Then check out Jorge’s review on the site!*Please excuse this week’s lack of proper intro and outro, let’s write that off as teething issues. If you’re interested in hearing the full podcast then you can check it out here. Can’t find us on your ideal podcast feed? • Mini Boss Babble Episode 1: Part 5 – Battlestar Galactica Deadlock
Mini Boss Babble are smaller, one topic cuts from our otherwise extensive weekly podcast. In this, part five of the first Big Boss Babble, we discussed the upcoming Battlestar Galactica Deadlock, although admittedly the conversation moved fast onto the discussion of the massively underused IP, and other science fiction IPs which have seen little to no use over the years. Terry raises an exceptionally valid point that nobody has even attempted to make a Red Dwarf game, and that this is a terrible fact.Toby led the topic while Terry, Toby, Dann and Jorge were in attendance. You can read the preview of Battlestar Galactica Deadlock we refer to here.*Please excuse this week’s lack of proper intro and outro, let’s write that off as teething issues. If you’re interested in hearing the full podcast then you can check it out here. Can’t find us on your ideal podcast feed? • Mini Boss Babble Episode 1: Part 4 – PlayerUnknown’s BattleGrounds
Mini Boss Babble are smaller, one topic cuts from our otherwise extensive weekly podcast. In this, part four, we discussed internet sensation PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds as Toby presented a mass of discussion points on the topic. We discuss the ‘Stream Watching’ sensation as well as the recently enabled ‘Honking’. The real eye-opener is the games amazing sales and user base however. Discussion on the game’s success also leads to the inevitable comparisons to other titles.Toby led the topic while Terry, Jorge and Dann were in attendance.*Please excuse this week’s lack of proper intro and outro, let’s write that off as teething issues. If you’re interested in hearing the full podcast then you can check it out here. Can’t find us on your ideal podcast feed? • Mini Boss Babble Episode 1: Part 3 – Emulation.
Mini Boss Babble are smaller, one topic cuts from our otherwise extensive weekly podcast. In this, part three, we discussed the ever heated topic of ‘Emulation’. The topic was a wild one, with the conversation shifting from the initial sub-topic of ‘early emulation’ (“Hey Pikmin on PC already) through emulation of no-longer available titles onto a brief discussion about scalpers and Nintendo. Phew.Terry led the topic while Toby, Dann and Jorge were also in attendance. If you’re interested in the subject, why not read an article on the subject of emulation (and piracy) from our mysterious benefactor, Player Uno.*Please excuse this week’s lack of proper intro and outro, let’s write that off as teething issues. If you’re interested in hearing the full podcast then you can check it out here. Can’t find us on your ideal podcast feed? • Mini Boss Babble Episode 1: Part 2 – Fortnite.
Mini Boss Babble are smaller, one topic cuts from our otherwise extensive weekly podcast. In this, part two, we discussed Epic’s recently released base-building-shooting-team-management-resource-gathering jack of all trades Fortnite, including our beliefs about it’s influences and how much the game has changed since it was first announced 200 years ago. There’s also a fair bit of speculation on the games crafting system, and it’s somewhat heavy-handed loot crate system.Matt led the topic while Terry, Toby, Dann and Jorge were also in attendance. If you’re interested in hearing the full podcast then you can check it out here.Fortnite can currently be bought in stores, or from Epic’s website.*Please excuse this week’s lack of proper intro and outro, let’s write that off as teething issues. Can’t find us on your ideal podcast feed?
