o   The biggest challenge of guiding is hunting is hunting can be a game of inches in the thicker cover of the big woods of the North.

o   Hal shares a perfect example of a huge scrape right on a transition.

o   You should think about the progression of the rut and use tactics that are effective for that time.

o   Spend time where the doe pockets are and spend as much time as possible in the 10%.

o   Poke around when it is rainy and windy

o   Joe says: grunt tube is a very important tool to have with you.

o   Don’t choose to stay in the cabin when it is warm.

o   Hal says: find new spots and don’t go back to same places because you killed a deer in prior years.
