The story is a typical Blaze book, set in the world of reality cooking shows (which I love!!).

Setting of a cooking competition show was fun.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Ebonee Noel?

ANYBODY!! Her southern accent for Remy was awful, and detracting. She mispronounced so many words.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Maybe, probably wait for the DVD or Lifetime broadcast.

Catch up with Catching Claire!

Catching Claire is Cindy Procter-King's sequel to Deceiving Derek, both part of what will be a delightful series of love affairs and encounters under the title "Love & Other Calamities." What is exceptional about all of Procter-King's writing, whether in short story style (such as this) or in her full-length novels such as Head Over Heels, is her ability to capture her characters' personalities and, more important, their morality and humanity. She always reminds us of the good and vulnerability, even in men who seem unapproachable and veiled, as well as of the insecurity in women, even those who on their face appear strong and self-reliant. She allows her own optimism and humor to drive her writing, leaving the reader with a good feeling and wanting more. For those of us who read romantic comedy and novels, want a respite from "real life" and yearn for those days when love seemed simple, Procter-King is the answer.

Incomplete

Claire has the hots for the guy who was the stripper at her best friend's shower. Ridge is dancing as a means of paying for med school. What happens when Ridge walks in on a drunk Claire after the shower? Very short, fast read which felt incomplete. You must need to read the series but found nothing telling me this prior to my purchase. The speed of the developing romance is incredibly fast and seemed out of character for Claire. Not a story I would read again...Not interested in the series.

Excellent Novella

I loved this quirky smart novella from the author of Deceiving Derek - hint, you will want to read that one too, and I suggest first. Ms. Procter-King writes with humor and her characters are multi-faceted and engage your emotions. Sometimes character development is lacking in novella format, but this author has the knack of balancing info with story. Great story by the way, excellent romance that dips it toe in the erotica genre, but not fully. I really think this author is one to read!

Nice Part2 very sweet.

Ridge stripped on the side to help put himself through med school. Itâs not something he likes to do at all but if he wants to get through med school itâs a must. Bachelorettes every weekend in the summer are a scary and dirty business but it pays the bill. That is why he was in the laundry room after Tanyaâs bridal shower to wash his costumes from the weekend.

You see he got to work Tanyaâs party from the flyer he had put up her in his dadâs laundry room of his apartment house. That he was watching while his was away. It so happened her maid of honor Claire hired him. She was rather straight forward and professional on the phone.

Not quite my thing.

The book wasn't, by any means, bad. It's just not my cup of tea. I'm don't understand cheating in real life of in a story. Working in a place like Ecstasy Spa where you've been trained to seduce and/or have sex for money and having a significant other that you hide that from for months is a disgusting thing to do ( in my opinion). The story was well written. The flow was good. I just am not into cheating situations.

4 stars - "Aromatherapy" by Suzanne Rock

I honestly can say I am now officially addicted to Suzanne Rock's books. This is my 2nd book from her and I really enjoy the steaminess of the books she writes. There short, but they definitely quench the erotic thirst. =)

Lily has been working at the Ecstasy Spa for a couple of years now. She is known as the person who men go to for a massage with scented oils since that is what she specializes in. Her boyfriend, Ian, does not know about her job. In fact, she's trying everything to keep it from him since he means the world to her and she knows it will break his heart to find out the truth.

One night while closing up shop at the Ecstasy Spa, Lily is surprised with Ian shows up to her work to surprise her for her birthday.

Ian finds out the truth on what Lily does and he is heartbroken. He does not know if he should stick with her, but when he finds out what she does in the room with the men, he wants to find out for himself, if she would do the same things she does to her clients to him. Lily is confused at first and is trying everything to convince Ian that the clients mean nothing to her. Ian is the one that has her heart and he's special to her. She only does this to have money for rent and her bills she must pay.

Lily may have to give up Ecstasy Spa if she wants to stay with Ian...or she may end up breaking his heart and choosing the Spa over him.

My thoughts on "Aromatherapy" was that it did have its steamy moments and hotness, but I did not feel a connection with the characters like a did the first book. Ian seemed to be a little controlling over Lily. She was trying to pour her heart out on why she chose the Ecstasy Spa over every other Spa job out there. She could not find another job out there to pay her bills and Lily's boss, Celeste, knew Lily would be a great asset to the Spa.

She also tried to reason with Ian and tell him that he meant the world to her and the clients did not.

I did see the reason why Ian would be upset with her.

Good women's fiction

I liked the book, although I didn't like Frannie very much. Frannie comes into town several years after losing her sister to the witness protection program for some crime that occured in this town. When she gets to a meeting with the town mayor, he's the man she kissed several hears ago when she was dealing with losing her sister, and later found out that he was married. She has a new venture for the town that involves training people for new jobs and renovating some buildings in the town center. She needs the mayor's assistance but feels repugnance for his actions. On the other hand, he's now widowed and wants to pursue a relation with her. There were many secrets all around, he was keeping things from her, she was keeping things from him, it was a mess. I don't loke books where the plot depends on so many secrets. Further into the books you learn some of the secrets and you cheer for them and a crisis ensues.

The best part of the book was about a town getting together and supporting their neighbours. And friends caring and helping each other. All the other characters were great, especially Patrick and Dixie, who were the ones best developed. There were other stories involved, but not having read the previous books, I didn't get a great sense of their histories. I did like most of the older ladies of the town, except for the evil Mrs. McKay. The book ends without a cliffhanger, thank you, but was not very satisfactory for this reader.

Meg Maquire is Cara McKenna without as much potty mouth but just as much hot fun.

Maquire/McKenna is a master at transporting a reader into the main character's situation and guiding thru

to a HEA. But she makes it neither sicklily sweet or always a sure thing from 10,000 yards away.

As they say, Meg Maguire can take a classic premise and make it fresh with a original spin.

I know when Meg/Cara has a new one out, I just simply know I need to set the time aside to reserve in her name(s) as it is always time WELL SPENT.

I don't want to give the story away. Just suffice it to say, the heroine finds everything is so NOT as it should be, takes drastic measures into her own hands, meets a handsome stranger and a gorgeous setting is involved and it's a

fun story. You will enjoy.

Maguire is a master at her craft.

Modern romance

A typical romance with the requisite "man meets woman, man and woman don't get along, man and woman get together in the end" (but isn't that why we read romance to begin with - for the happy ending?) but there are plenty of plot twists and turns to make it interesting. Author has written fairly believable characters, but I sometimes wonder if the way the men talk is for real ...

I loved this book!

I love the two main characters. Their interaction -from the beginning to the end-is great!I loved how the teased/ flirted with each other. This is a perfect love story. I have read this book twice already!

Literary Fluff

After reading some great books by Meg Maguire, this was a letdown. There is virtually no plot or character development. The connection between Will and Leigh is tenuous. This is one of the more extreme examples of instant love I have seen.

If you haven't read any of Maguire's novels before, don't start here.

I LOVE TO READ , SO IT DON'T TAKE MUCH TO LOVE BOOKS. I LIKED THAT THE STORY HAD A HAPPY ENDING. THE AUTHUR DID A NICE JOB PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER.

This was a very cute little story. However the narration was so terrible but it completely took away my enjoyment of the story. I will never listen to another story by this narrator again!

Wow-wee if action is what you are looking for go no further. These books have it all. Bang up hero's and heroines getting into situation after situation. Just when you think they are home free? Whack their right back into having to face the bad guy's again. I personally enjoyed these action packed books. Although I did get tuckered out, from trying to help them out of one hot spot after another. Even had to stop and rest a couple of times. Before going on with the story.

Why is it that some of the best audio books are but, one. One by an author who we never hear from again.

Anyway, this was a very interesting, different and gripping story. I enjoyed it a great deal.It kept my interest throughout.

It's not the typical romance novel, which was nice for a change.I'd love to hear more from this author!

Loved it!

Great story, made even better with the superb narration done by Maia Guest. A classic haunting plot with the perfect ending. I enjoyed all the characters and it was hard to put it down. I kept wanting to know what was happening next, all the while hoping Andie and David would be ok. I recommend this audiobook, I'm glad I listened to it!

Burning Down the House

Very good paranormal romance.A female Contractor who also can sense and see ghosts, gets hired by the very wealthy,handsome and troubled owner of the cursed mansion.Together they work to break the family curse,finding love and romance in the process.Danger and intrigue mixed with alot of steamy,sexy moments make for a fascinating story.Maia Guest did a great job playing the roles of all the characters bringing life and believability to the story.A must listen:)

Weak 3 stars.

The plot and events were reasonably interesting. The characters and the relationship needed something.

The main plot was about multiple ghosts in an old house. Evil things happened in the past, and something evil is influencing people today. The process of how Andi and David found out about the ghosts, learned what happened to them, and what they did to get rid of them was interesting - but not fascinating. I never felt pulled in or eager to read. It was more of a way to pass the time. It needed something. It felt more of a mystery than a romance. I enjoyed the definition of Andi, a female construction contractor.

David never dated anyone more than a few weeks and always dates the willowy model types. Along comes Andi to work for him, shes short and on the round side. He talks to her on day one. They have sex on day two. It was too soon. I didnt see why he was attracted to her. A gossip magazine called him the hottest bachelor of something. Andi seemed to be attracted to him the way most women would want to date the hot bachelor. I guess I wanted to see something unusual or special causing an attraction. It wasnt there. They just meet, and soon they have sex. The sex scenes were ordinary.

Great story!

I was really impressed by this book. I haven't read much by Isabel Sharpe, but I am going to look for her other books right now! This story is the latest in the "Come to Your Senses" series. I have not read the other book(s), and this definitely can be a stand-alone read. The story is about Demi Anderson, the newest resident and business owner in the Come to Your Senses complex. She is a physical therapist and runs her own PT practice. Colin is a former Ironman competitor and marathoner who was seriously injured during a competition and, as a result, can no longer compete. This was basically his whole life and he's devastated and bitter about no longer being able to continue. He had sought treatment from Demi some months before, but stormed off when Demi tried to get him to understand he would likely no longer be able to Ironmen. Now he's back and seriously in pain. The sexual tension between the Demi and Colin is totally hot! I liked that the romance progressed throughout the story, and it was actually really refreshing that Colin was not a commitment-phobe. But it was really touching and poignant to see how the relationship developed as Demi started to help Colin feel better physically, but especially as she started to help him move on and realize that his life wasn't over just because he couldn't do Ironmen competitions anymore. And it's also fun to see super-shy Demi form friendships with the other Come to Your Senses tenants/business owners.

The love scenes were quite hot, and there were a few, but not so many as to totally overshadow the story development (which happens sometimes with Blaze romances). There was also some humor in the book, which I liked. I actually laughed out loud a couple of times when Colin was frantically trying to think of something to keep himself from getting, ahem, excited during Demi's massages. Oh, and there is also a secondary romance between 2 of the supporting characters (Bonnie and Seth, for anyone that has read the previous books in the series). That was actually a great story also. All in all, I was really impressed with the character development and relationship development in this book, and I would definitely recommend it!

I loved this book. I stayed up late at night to finish it. It made me laugh and cry. It was a feel good book with a little spice to it. It was well written.

I am such a fan of Isabel Sharpe!

This is one of many Isabel Sharpe books that I've read and really enjoyed. I would def. ready more of her books!
