Members Reviews:

A week storey, somewhat boring.

This book wasnt for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

No idea. First time listeners. Easy to follow not to many characters

What could Katie Flynn have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

It was just the wrong storey for me.

What three words best describe Anne Dovers voice?

I like Anne Dover but found the Liverpool accent overdone.

What character would you cut from Beyond the Blue Hills?

They all played their part in a week way.

Any additional comments?

Not my favourite

This Book Was FANTASTIC!! Great Narrator!!

As many books that I have read and listened to over the years this is one of the best! This story of Jim (Jimmy) and Nikki, friends from high school with unsaid feelings is meaningful, sad, fun and sexy and with a chance meeting at a club one night changes everything for both of them. I will say that Kathy Lyons has written the best four chapters of intimacy and the way the narrator expresses it is FANTASIC!

The narrator Savannah Richards is the best in the business. She can take you into the story and keep you anticipating to the end. She has a way of bring the main characters to life. Savannah is one of the few female narrators that can convey a believable male voice which gives the stories she does more feeling. I have puchased every book she's narrated.

Enjoyed

I am a sucker for a good romance novel, and I love Savannah Richards the narrator.

Publisher's Summary:

Jeanne Madison has earned her PhD at 26 and secured funding to find and excavate a treasure-laden 18th century caravel off the Yucatan coast. With her mentor and a handful of graduate students in her corner, she'll find the Luna Azul - or blue moon--by hook or by crook. When a tight budget forces her to hire Captain Gabriel Avery and his rust-bucket, "Fallen Angel", the comely PhD's not sure it won't be the latter. The incorrigible skipper has the swarthy good looks of a Hollywood pirate and pushes every last one of Jeanne's buttons--even some she didn't know she had. His history of brawls, bullion, and well, romantic escapades may well sink the whole expedition. As the race for the Luna Azul treasure with an unscrupulous competitor gets heated, more than the fajitas start to sizzle. Soon Jeanne, the captain, and her crew must take a gigantic leap of faith, one that may salvage more than gold - perhaps even a hardened heart.

Enjoyable ending to series

This is the last book in the Moonstruck series about the Madison siblings. I really liked all of the characters, not just Jeanne and Gabe but the colorful supporting characters, as well. Jeanne is kind, smart, driven, and lives out her faith. Gabe is the âfallen angelâ his boat is named after but even he canât resist her. This is an entertaining story about a treasure hunt set in an exotic locale. The description of the various settings felt real, the humor is light-hearted, the romance is sweet, and the faith is real. As Jeanne leads a team to locate a sunken treasure, various obstacles pop up-- including a nemesis from Gabeâs past. Overall, this is an enjoyable ending to the series. It can be read as a stand-alone but Jeanneâs two brothers make appearances in this book.

fun read

The characters are realistic especially the teens. And the story line is a easy read. The setting was so well described that I was ready for a vacation in a romantic location.

A light and sunny romance. A dab of suspense.

Dr. Jeanne Madison has secured limited funding to find and excavate the "Luna Azul" (translation: Blue Moon). It is a treasure-laden eighteenth century caravel off the Yucatan coast (Mexico). Along with Jeanne is the snobbish Dr. Remington "Remy" Primston who is documenting all for his future book, a few college students, and Ann Mills who is not only Jeanne's college classmate, but also a photographer with World Geographic magazine.

The tight budget forces Jeanne to hire the handsome Captain Gabriel "Gave" Avery. His boat may look ready to fall apart at any moment, but Jeanne knows that God will help her in her quest. Besides, Gave is the only skipper around that will agree to getting part of any treasure that they may find instead of a huge daily fee. Gabe and Jeanne are very attracted to each other, but Jeanne knows that a relationship between them is hopeless unless God helps Gabe see His light.

In the meantime, the American playboy Marshall Arnauld smells treasure. He has already stolen sunken site rights from others in the past, including from Gabe, and now he is after Jeanne's find.

**** This is the third in the Moonstruck series. The cover says it is the "new romantic comedy", however, I found very little comedy. Instead, I recommend this one as a Christian Modern Contemporary type of romance. A sweet read with lots of faith and a dab of suspense.
