Great story bad narrated

Where does The Chauffeur Wore an Evening Gown rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?

In the middle. It's entertaining, and i love the storyline. But the narrater made me want to stop listen to it. But i gave her a chance.

What other book might you compare The Chauffeur Wore an Evening Gown to and why?

Can you keep a secret by Sophie Kinsella. It's not the same storyline, but it's about a girl faling in love whit her boss.

Did Terran McGahae do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

I did not like her. Her voice is to annoying. She speak to fast, and you can't hear what characters she makes.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

No. It was fun, but that was all.

Any additional comments?

I bought this book, because of the tag line. The story is great, and i realy enjoy it. BUT get another narrater. It's like the book is recorded in a big rum. She read and speak to fast. It's a book, not a marathon.

So if you want this book, just know, that you most likely will enjoy the printet version better.

Disappointed

The content of this book could propbably be quite good, if not for the terrible production and narration.

Terran Mc Gahae sounds like he is sitting in a bathroom, and is in such a rush to get through the story that you are not allowed time to picture scenes in your head.

Ummmm....???

Any additional comments?

Seemed like there was something wrong with the audio. I could hear every breath and swallow and any other noise the narrator made and that really started to get on my nerves and I couldn't get past the first few minutes. The narrator also anunciated every single syllable that it kind of took away from the flow. Sorry, but it was really bugging me. I wanted to like the story. The narration plays a big part in these audio books.

Not as captivating

Would you try another book from Katie Flynn and/or Anne Dover?

I didn't think "The Runaway" was as captivating as some of the other Katie Flynn novels that I have listened to over the past months. I found it drawn out and boring at times, though I did finish the book and have to admit I liked the ending. I will however listen to more Katie Flynn books as this is the only one that I found boring adn I love listening to books narated by Anne Dover.

Has The Runaway turned you off from other books in this genre?

No

Which scene was your favorite?

The end

Was The Runaway worth the listening time?

No

rushed ending

No Risk Refused

I have read six books in 4 days! But what I do remember is that it was sexy, fun, romatic and mysterious. I could not put it down! It left me wanting more. It was a little too short.

couldn't put it down

I received this book as well as the second in the series as a gift and I could NOT put them down. I have only one criticism...WHERE is book THREE???

When things with Kurt start heating up, how can Jazz keep her investigation undercover while enjoying time under the covers with her summer flame?

Members Reviews:

Five Stars

I loved this book

Two Stars

Silly summer romance.

Great romance AND a good laugh!

Highly recommend! 'Her Lucky Catch' made me laugh out loud many times to the amusement of those sitting around me. Jazz Shepherd is a very funny heroine with her wry sense of humor and and klutzy ability to get herself into hilarious situations that we can all relate to (but wouldn't want to admit that we've had the similar things happen!). Kurt Reynolds is a dreamboat firefighter who actually drives the fire boat and can handle any type of situation - my kind of guy!

The descriptions of the town and characters will hit home with anyone from a small town...and anyone who may have grown up attending Catholic school will appreciate the funny references to that fine establishment. Already read this one twice and it's even funnier the 2nd time thru.

"I really like the way everything wrapped up"

Jazz Shepard moved to Bluegill to start her life over after her divorce. She is a teacher at the local Catholic school but she has to take a part-time job at the marina to make ends meet. It's not such a hardship after all as the Fire Department docks their boat and Jazz definitely appreciates the sight of the gorgeous firefighter Kurt Reynolds. However, she never counted on being drawn into a criminal investigation by the local Sheriff.

Kurt Reynolds doesn't know what to think about the new teacher in town. She acts a little odd but he can't help but be attracted to her. He knows Jazz is keeping secrets and he can't wait to uncover every one of them.

Jazz needs to keep her undercover assignment with the Sheriff a secret but being around Kurt makes her want to let her secrets loose. Will her new relationship get in the way of helping the Sheriff bring down the bad guys? Will Jazz lose her chance at finding real love?

Her Lucky Catch features a lot of laughs. Jazz is quite the funny heroine especially her inner dialogue. I like the fact that she's not Ms. Depressing considering she is down on her luck lately. Jazz rolls with the punches and her attraction to Kurt is hot and hilarious. What I like best about this story is Jazz. Her desire for Kurt often leads to humorous interactions with him that usually end with her in a mess. I didn't feel an overwhelming romance connection between Jazz and Kurt. I like them and they have their heated moments but I think there are too many other things going on in the story so the actual romance never heats up to its full potential.

What disappointed you about The Christmas Gift?

Really not sure what I disliked more the narrators or the story. Both were pretty bad.

What could Mary Suzanne have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Maybe more feelings from Dr. Michell. You don't get the sense that he liked Kelly in a romantic way even after he kissed her.

Would you be willing to try another one of Kendra Morgan and Max Turner s performances?

I will as long as its not Home for Christmas. That one was worse than this one.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Just the feeling of hope that the story was almost over.

Terrible Book & Terrible Narrators!!!!

I have been an Audible member for a very long time. I have loved every single book I have purchased with a few exceptions, I'm very sad to say that this is one of those books I have hated.

It was a combo thing... The book was terrible and the narrators were awful!!! I don't know what type of budget the narrators had, but I believe an eight year old could have done a better job reading the material. I have no words to explain how bad this book is, all I can say is... Trust me don't waste your credits on something this bad!!!!!
