Bike New York provides free bike education programs across the five boroughs, imparting bike riding skills to both children and adults. The focus is on ensuring individuals can ride bikes safely and confidently in the city. In 2020, the organization successfully instructed over 30,000 New Yorkers in bike skills. Additionally, Bike New York coordinates various annual events, such as the TD Five Boro Bike Tour (recognized as the largest charitable bike ride in the U.S.), Bike Expo New York, and several smaller regional and community rides.

Alicia McCauley is the Director of Communications for Bike New York in NYC. She is a distance cyclist, and, along with her husband, has ridden thousands of miles in the US, Canada, and Europe. When not doing bike stuff, Alicia enjoys gardening her tiny plot in Queens, doing shitty crafts, cooking for friends, and generally enjoying the weird, wonderful things NYC has to offer.
