Binary System Podcast

Welcome to Night Vale is still being good at a hiatus this January (bless ’em, we think they deserve a break), so we decided it was a good time for another “EEEEEEE!” fangirl-type episode. (Although in the case of Twin Peaks it’s less “EEEEEE!” and more “WHAT THE HELL, LYNCH?!”)

Spoiler warnings aplenty as the twins review everything they loved and hated about the first four episodes of Twin Peaks: The Return and the first season of Hannibal. (We’ll give you this one spoiler about Hannibal for free: nothing bad happens to Will’s dogs. Everyone else on the show is fair game, but the dogs are fine. You’re welcome.Read OnBinary System Podcast #111 – Twin Peaks: The Return and Hannibal

It’s a podcast crossover event! Lost In Sci-Fi podcast meets up with Binary System Podcast and our resident Dixie Girl Jada to record the podcast we’ve been threatening promising to do for months: fan fiction. Kathryn, Elizabeth, and Jada drop all the knowledge that comes from having a fan fiction obsession addiction passion, while Leland listens on, appalled fascinated, and asks lots of questions.

Listen in for all the fan fiction information you never knew you needed, or never knew you didn’t want to know.

It’s the first episode of 2018 and we have a plan! And that plan is to fill up 10 minutes talking about our plans for the next few episodes before Elizabeth’s voice dies on account of the plague. It’s still a plan! Totally counts!

Listen in as we carefully plot out (i.e. randomly mention as soon as it occurs to us) the plan for the next few episodes, which includes (but is not limited to) Star Wars, Twin Peaks, fan fiction, and TV Tropes. Happy New Year!Read OnBinary System Podcast #110 – The One Where We Actually Plan Something

This week Binary System is going to be on the road for the holidays! They’ll be…no, wait, sorry, they’re already home. What day is it again? Time is weird. Please enjoy this Welcome To Night Vale Christmas recap that they recorded two weeks ago and in doing so got very caught up and very confused. Hope everybody’s holidays were excellent!Read OnBinary System Podcast #109 – WTNV #120 “All Smiles’ Eve”

It’s the last podcast before Christmas so let’s celebrate with an episode that’s…not really about Christmas at all. Ho ho ho?

Okay, so we recorded this two weeks ago and forgot it was the pre-Christmas episode, and in our defense we do manage to mention the Doctor Who Christmas special….last year’s Doctor Who Christmas special. (Sometimes we’re bad at TV.) But most of the episode is about the Battle Angel trailer (and her stupid, stupid eyes) plus the final episode of Futurama (did we mention we’re bad at TV?), The Crown, Twin Peaks The Return, and Let the Right One In, because nothing says Christmas like Swedish vampires.Read OnBinary System Podcast #108 – The Catch-Up Episode

This is the second of two episodes we actually recorded last week (because time is weird) just to make sure the holiday travel time didn’t throw off our oh-so-carefully-prepared schedule (and if you believe we’re that organized we’ve got a bridge we can sell ya too. ANYWAY.) This week we’re talking about two things we’ve both finally seen: Thor Ragnarok and Stranger Things Season 2. (Fair warning, we’re gonna spoil all the things.)

And because we never did learn to focus, we also get into Twin Peaks and writing book reviews when the authors are going to actually read them.Read OnBinary System Podcast #107 – Thor: Ragnarok and Stranger Things season 2

Yep, it’s definitely not our imagination: these titles are getting longer.

Balancing out that extra-long title is a short podcast this week as the twins recap an episode of Welcome To Night Vale where…nothing happens. Well okay, things happen, but we get the idea that the things that happen aren’t quite the earth-shattering story-resolving things that Cecil thinks they are.Read OnBinary System Podcast #106 – WTNV #119 “eGemony Part 3: “A Story of Love and Horror”

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! To celebrate, here’s a podcast where we don’t mention Thanksgiving EVEN ONE TIME.

Yes, all right, we forgot this episode drops on Thanksgiving. But we are grateful for a lot of things, in addition to family and friends and happiness and health: for a Night Vale episode that did this folding-in-on-itself thing with the plot, for Neil Gaiman and American Gods, for Thor Ragnarok and Tom Hiddleston, for Twin Peaks, Let the Right One In, Stranger Things, and for you because you read this whole description. You rock.Read OnBinary System Podcast #105 – WTNV #118 “eGemony Part 2: The Cave Lands”

That’s right, this past weekend Binary System went to ALL the conventions! And by all we mean some. Well, two. But they were really good ones!

Listen in as we debrief on the awesome cosplay and panels at NC Comicon: Bull City, and the fantastic art at DesignerCon 2017!Read OnBinary System Podcast #104 – ALL the conventions (well, two of them anyway)

This week we’re throwing the format out the window! That’s right, instead of recapping Welcome to Night Vale and then talking about a movie, we’re talking about a movie first! Then the recap! Madness! Total chaos!

Ahem. Anyway. Listen in as we look at the 2016 Blair Witch sequel (which isn’t nearly as bad as you think) and then recap Welcome To Night Vale #116 “eGemony, Part 1: Canadian Club.” Which absolutely does not star Hugh Jackman.Read OnBinary System Podcast #103 – Blair Witch 2016 and WTNV #117 recap
