By the time 2007 rolled around, Die Hard had become legendary. As discussed in this very podcast, if they had stopped at 1995's Die Hard with a Vengeance, the three of us would be praising just how fully entertaining the Die Hard TRILOGY is. But hence, 20th Century Fox had to quadruple dip into the Die Hard pot. The result, Live Free or Die Hard, is a film you either love or hate. Listen to hear two of us discuss how much we hate it. While the other defends it, only to finally determine that he hates is too.

But that's not all. To make up for the lack of podcast last week, we also talk about 2013's A Good Day to Die Hard. What, if anything worked about this seen as a train wreck fourth sequel? Whose body does director John Moore know the location of that he leveraged to get into the director's chair? And how does Batch feel watching this film for the first time in his life? And, you get an already falling out of his chair drunk Ammon to talk about A Good Day to Die Hard, you will laugh at just how awesomely bad he feels about this film. No, he does not hold back.

Well, another month, another retrospective gone. I'd like to once again thank Ammon and Batch for joining me on this journey through the adventures of John McClane. Stay tuned. More with them by the end of the year.

Preacher is back and Batch is joined by Jim Law to have a SPOILER filled discussion on the first three episodes of the second season.  How does it compare to the classic series?   Yeah, we discuss that.  We also address concerns over Cassidy not being evil enough and whether the show has the balls to follow through on some of the book's craziest moments.

The 3rd season of iZombie is done and the status quo has greatly changed, so we try and bring you up to speed.  Since there isn't a wrestling podcast on Binge Media anymore (and it's his damn show), Batch professes his love for the Netflix series G.L.O.W. and points out all the cameos by real wrestlers while discussing the importance of how it respects wrestling as an art form.

Batch also tries to explain the DC Injustice video game universe to Law and tease Law's big debut on a future episode of the Binge GameCast.

Do you think Preacher is going to fizzle?  Do you want to hear more talk about lesser comic shows like iZombie?  Let us know in the comments below!

I'd like to introduce everybody to Kitchen Ammon. He loves talking super low and losing his weed box. He hates beer fridges and pee patches. He's hard to get used to.

As for the show, there's lots of TV (GLOW, Twin Peaks, Preacher, I'm Dying Up Here, Veep, Silicon Valley, Fargo, Better Call Saul) to talk about and even more movies to poop on (AFTERMATH, BAD BATCH, DESPICABLE ME 3, OKJA, THE GIRL WITH ALL THE GIFTS, BABY DRIVER).

Google Voice makes us proclaim our Mount Rushmore of actors from the last 25 years.

Guns and Logans is a thing. And so is our Better Call Binge IndieGoGo campaign. Help us out by clicking here and you'll get some free swag.

Alyx is trying to work through Handmaid's Tale and House of Cards. Mrs. Alyx is watching The Sopranos. Alyx gives his rating on GLOW. Why has Alyx never mentioned Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt? Stop talking about Alyx already! Sounder war.

Ammon watched Aftermath and the Bad Batch (ahhhh ahhhhh). Jim Law checked out The Girl with all The Gifts, Despicable Me 3, Okja, and Baby Driver (which Alyx weighs in on too). Law and Alyx rank the films of Edgar Wright.

What Did You Watch teabags AFTERMATH, THE UNTOUCHABLES, CARS 3, ROUGH NIGHT, POWER RANGERS, and GIMMIE DANGER.

Google Voice sparks conversation about what commentaries we would do if we existed in the 80s, difficult scenes to get through, and other stuff my hangover won't let come to me.

0:00:00-Starting this chip.

0:01:17-Jack, Law, Alyx. Awwww yes. Chip drunk sounders because recording starting late, so it's gonna be a rapid show. Ammon? What's the deal? He did not deliver on the tiny house dream. Lawlapalooza wrap up show highlighted. I'm (Logan) called out. Sorry Jack. Tiny House Sounder. Site stuff.

Alyx is checking out F is for Family. Master of None Season 2. Law started Glow and rips into The Mist. Veep and Silicon Valley.

2:00:08-WHAT DID YOU WATCH? Alyx starts with this only one: Aftermath. Valley rewatched The Untouchables (1:32:52 for that drop, Alyx) and checked out an Iggy Pop documentary called Gimme Danger. Law watched Cars 3, Rough Night, Power Rangers. The boys talk Daniel Day Lewis' retirement and what actors they would possibly be bummed about leaving the spotlight. Law briefly mentions I'm Dying Up Here.

It's over.

With the passing of Adam West, we thought it would be only fitting to take this week's Small Screen Heroes and do a commentary track for the grand daddy of all super-hero films, Batman the Movie, based off the classic Batman 66 TV series.  Batch enlists Adam Bunch to be his Boy Wonder (eww gross) and the dynamic duo wax nostalgic about the flick as well ask the important questions like:  What's with all the obvious signage?  How much poon is Alfred slaying by cruising around in the Batmobile when Bruce isn't looking and exactly how much coke is the Riddler on right now?

By the time 1995 rolled around, the action genre was still seeing all the remnants of Die Hard's success take shape in the form of its imitators. Die Hard on a ship. Die Hard on a bus. The movie going public was so inundated with imitations, that the prospect of John McClane returning for another adventure were looking to be dwindling away due to Hollywood's common ability to over saturate the market with too much of a good thing.

But extrenuating circumstances forced two major players in the franchise to flex their action movie making muscles once again. First, Bruce Willis was in the position of sorely needing a hit. After taking control of what was reportedly a fantastic script in Hudson Hawk, Willis's ego brought the production to its knees, as he had them do his bidding. Much to the film's dismay. And the 1993 action yarn Striking Distance wasn't doing too much fire burning at the box office either.

John McTiernan was also coming off a career slump, as the Arnold Schwarzenegger flop Last Action Hero was still on the tips of tongues of Hollywood executives learning that too much of a good thing, in action's most successful star and the innovative director that put adventure filmmaking on the Hollywood map, was anything but. The re-teamup of these two in a sequel to their most successful film was all but inevitable. And we at the Aftertaste are here to watch it.

Once again join Batch, Ammon, and myself as we look at 1995's Die Hard with a Vengeance, and decide whether the film seemingly made out of career salvaging desperation was either a good or bad result in our eyes.

Note: Due to our schedules being all over the place this week, there will not be an Aftertaste next Thursday. However, in two weeks, we will return with not one, but TWO reviews. One of Live Free or Die Hard, and the other being A Good Day to Die Hard. Also, keep an eye on this space as lots of surprises are coming down the pike.
