After very successful episodes of Monday Morning Moreno’s Musical Mayhem (not a thing) with TM (Radiohead Ok Computer album review) and Oh Hai Denny Luis (Epic Oasis Album Review), Supka and I decided to use the format for the Binge MusicCast.  It burns us out sometimes to listen to a bunch of new shit and talk about it every two weeks.  A gestation period is required to properly absorb all of the nuances of a new record.

That’s why we’re going to focus on either a single artist or album per episode.  This allows us to talk in depth about a subject without having to feel we need to keep moving the show forward. It’s more relaxing, shut up. Sorry for yelling.

Both Supka and I are pretty big Nirvana fans (it’s my second favorite band of all time), but we both were exposed to Nirvana and came to love Nirvana in different ways. We discuss this in the episode.

And for the OCD Nirvana fan, yes we refer to Sappy as Verse Chorus Verse, which is a different (and far inferior) song.  This is because the No Alternative compilation that was released in the early 90s incorrectly listed the song as Verse Chorus Verse.   I grew up calling it Verse Chorus Verse and it’s hard to break that habit.   Also, I didn’t have the fucking internet in 93 to verify the goddamn song title so give me a break.   Not sorry for yelling this time.

Actress. Stuntwoman. Author. Former pro wrestler.

No, I am not talking about my lovely returning co-host Jason Morris. Nor am I describing my absent-for-the-week other co-host Johnny Moreno. These many adjectives describe the versatility of April Littlejohn, our special guest this week. Before getting her on the line, I catch up with Morris about what he has been doing. Which when added together with what I’ve been doing, amounts to nothing.

It doesn’t take long to realize the two of us need to get Littlejohn on the line in order to make things interesting, and little did we know just how interesting the conversation would get. We start off talking about how getting into stunt work was the better personal alternative to April as opposed to acting. She then gets major Geek Goddess points by talking about what it was like rehearsing for Quentin Tarantino and subsequently working with Joss Whedon (on Firefly) and JJ Abrams (on Alias). Stories about such things as going to work and jumping off a 650 foot building, as well as massive amounts of respect for Abrams and Whedon and reasons why they are in their current place in the business follow.

Jason and I ask her about her wrestling career as the performer Riot in the all female wrestling organization WOW. Injuries suffered during her career there and how her standing out in the federation caused a bit of in-house friction are discussed, and Littlejohn gives some insight on how a prior stint in diving and doing stunts helped her do such moves as the one shown here.

A little talk about Littlejohn’s current foray into writing is done, and she makes special mention of her book Starlet. She also gives us yet another interesting entry in our series of Queen (King) of Hollywood discussions. We close the interview by talking about April’s view of the current stunt landscape, and how stunts have changed since she was a part of the world. After hanging up with April, Jason and I realize there was a whole world within the business that even we were not aware of. Some talk about Jason’s own dealings with stunt work and the people who do them is done, and we close the show by talking about the premieres Jason attended while he was off the show last week. Wait, was he even invited?!

Welcome to a special “championship” edition (as my co-host called it) of the Binge SportsCast. Things are pretty simple this week. I gave in and decided to talk about Deflategate and Tom Brady’s deflated balls. And who better to discuss this with than the biggest and only New England Patriots fanatic on the staff, our very own MovieFreak, Mr. Jack Falvey IV.

With the conference finals in the NBA and NHL just getting underway, and Kupka being absent from this week’s show, this seemed like the perfect time to tackle (damn, that’s funny because we’re talking football) the topic that unfortunately has been dominating the sports world.

And I’m a man of the people, as I so eloquently discuss in my opening segment. I gave you the chance to vote to have Jack on the show, and you responded with giving him 67% in the affirmative, so I really didn’t have a choice in the matter. I aim to please. Over the course of the show, we get into the entire situation and how he’s reacting to it, especially on social media (it’s bad). I ask the tough and honest questions on whether or not he thinks Tom Brady cheated, why the Patriots aren’t fighting their punishment, and more. But don’t worry, we have a lot of fun in the process. He talks his hatred for the Colts,

his love for Tommy Boy himself,

and just for grins, we talk about the state of the AFC East, which ultimately leads to a quick discussion about Ryan Tannehill’s wife (and gives me an excuse to put up a few pictures of her).

Yep, that smokin’ hot lady on the main page is a wrestler, and so is the blonde you see above, so you’re welcome for that. And they’re damn good wrestlers too. Oh yeah, welcome to the Binge Sportscast.

Lucky you! Due to the WWE scheduling a surprise PPV at the end of this month, this is the first of two wrestling podcasts that you’ll get this month. It’s a little out of the ordinary, but my Binge Sportscast “contract” states that I get my regular bi-weekly spot during the week and a wrestling version every time there’s a pay-per-view, so I’ll take it.

Before I get into the heart of this week’s show, I talked in the intro about what’s coming up later this week. I’ll be talking more about the NHL and NBA Playoffs, but there’s something else that’s been a big topic in the sports world and we all know what it is. Tom Brady’s balls have been dominating the headlines and our resident New Englander, Jack (aka MovieFreak) has been annoying all of us with his status updates, so I’m leaving this to you. I said that I wouldn’t talk about it, but I’d be willing to go back on my word if you feel that Jack coming on the show and ranting would be as entertaining as I think it could be. But in the essence of fairness, we’re going to do this the democratic way. And if there’s one thing you know I like, it’s a good fan vote. So where do you stand? We’ve made it 10 full episodes WOOHOO!! For this special occasion we decided to phone it in and do our first commentary, for the terribly awesome Street Fighter. Yes, that Street Fighter. Can you believe this is from the same guy who wrote such classics as Commando, The Running Man, Die Hard and even Hudson Hawk (super underrated)?! Unfortunately Moviefreak couldn’t make it so Batch and I did our best, unfortunately one of us hadn’t seen the movie prior to this so we had that going for us, which didn’t work out to bad.
